Small Luxury Hotel Ambassador Zürich 

Overall great stay at the Ambassador! Love the central location, easily walkable to all the sights in Zurich, plus easy access to more local neighborhoods that get away from the touristy area. Very nicely done property with good design and very comfortable room, including excellent bathroom. The bed is supremely comfortable with great pillows and bedding. Staff was also outstanding, always available and willing to help. Breakfast each day in the restaurant was very good, with a special shout out to Sandra, who remembered us each morning and even knew our standard order by the third day. On the downside, I would say that the room was on the small side. We booked a Superior Plus, which I believe is 3 categories above the entry level room, mostly so we would have more space -- but it still felt very small. For a small property, it's kind of amazing how many different room types they have and they don't seem to be very different from each other. I'm not sure I would pay extra again to get a larger room category since it seems like they are all pretty small. The other odd thing is that breakfast was included because of my Hilton Diamond status, but nobody ever told us anything specific about what we could order. The restaurant has several breakfast "bundles" and we ordered those a few days, but then also ordered a la carte on two occasions. The a la carte options we ordered were less expensive than the "bundles," yet we were charged for those a la carte options upon checkout. I expressed surprise by that but the front desk agent told me the free breakfast is only for the bundles, which include a ton of food, and strangely you can't just order a single item without being charged. Makes no sense to me but whatever, I relented and just paid the bill.
