My stay at SacLo was so amazing I extended 4 days because of the lovely and social atmosphere. The host, Lyna, is one of the kindest people I have ever met, she goes above and beyond for every guest to make them truly feel like part of her family. The bathrooms are brilliant, all facilities are cleaned daily, the pool is really lovely and a lovely family dinner is done every couple of days. If you go to Hoi An and don't stay at SacLo then you are definitely missing out.

Hello everyone, 

If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Hoi An I can definitely recommend you this hostel. It is run by Lina, a very friendly woman always prepared to help you. For me it was important at the given time and she requests to keep your passport as a deposit. I do not like giving it away and we reached an agreement leaving money as a deposit and that solved the issue. Besides this, everything was fantastic. The rooms are clean and breakfast is included (she makes it herself for you). She will recommend you what to do and visit in Hoi An and nearby area based on your preferences. Every two nights there are family dinners organized, which consist in visiting a restaurant and every guesz can join if they like to (I highly recommend it, it is a smooth icebreaker with other travelers all at the same time). We booked one night in aprivate room because the doorms were booked out and 2 nights in shared rooms but somehow a mistake was made and there was no room in the doorms for the first night and she even let us stay us at the private room for the doorm price. She offers also laundry service if you need to which is practical. To sum up, if you need a place to stay in Hoi An and there is room available, it is a safe bet!

We were recommended Saclo by friends who had stayed previously and are so glad! Bex and Lyna were amazing, so welcoming and helpful! Had great fun joining in with their Tet celebrations! Thank you! :)

I had a great time at caloc.
It really is a homestay in the way where you live in a big house with three wonderful women (two Vietnamese sisters, one with her baby and their British friend who has been living here for 7 years so that she can help you in anything u need.
She is also an example of a foreigner living in this beautiful country for a long time, having adapted to the culture, living with Vietnamese people and speaking their language perfectly.
This community of two Vietnamese sisters and their British friend is very inspiring and adorable to see!

They are all very nice and helpful and can give you good recommendation towards places to see, food and everything else you need to know.
I felt really taken care of!
The pancake is amazing!! It really is! For a normal breakfast eater enough, if you are a very big eater in the morning like me, I can recommend the vegetable noodles with lots of steamed onions and tomatoes.
I loved the mattress, the house is very clean and the bathroom in each of the cute dorms with 3-4 beds are huge so there is lots of space to take an amazing hot!! Shower!
The place is not right in the Center but 20 walking minutes from the old city and closer to the beach than the other hostels.
So it is a quieter space for the ones who don't need to party right in the hostel.
There are also motorbikes to rent for around 5 dollars a day as well as bicycle for 1 dollar.
(A comment on a very bad review in 2016: yes they don't allow you to rent out a bicycle throughout the night, because they all had been stolen at night, so of course Lyna does not want any more trouble with that.
And there are a lot more other places to rent out a bike so I don't understand the trouble about this:)

I only had one day and one night there but I'd have loved stay longer and i can recommend everyone to do so as there is a lot to see in Hoi An and the experience at SacLo Homestay was a great one for me!

I absolutely loved my stay at Sac Lo. Bex and Lyna are amazing and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. They are very helpful with scheduling whatever you want to do in order to see Hoi An. We decided to stay in Hoi An for 6 nights, but could not decide on which hostel to book. So we booked 3 nights at Sac Lo and 3 at another. We loved our stay so much that we booked an additional night at Sac Lo for a 7th night. They organize all of the guests together to go out to dinner each night at a recommended restaurant, which is a great way to meet the other travelers. I definitely would stay here when I return to Hoi An. O and breakfast was awesome as well. World famous banana pancakes!

It's difficult to share how helpful and kind the two hostesses of this hostel were towards my friend and I. This is not a regular hostel. It's basically a family experience with two people who are dedicated to ensuring that you have an incredible stay, not only in their establishment, but in Vietnam. From the moment you arrive they make it clear that you can reach out to them at any time for any reason, whether related to travel, health, etc. They book everything you want anywhere in Vietnam and their hospitality extends beyond your reservation; my friend and I continued to ask them to book us some of the cheapest accommodations and services in other cities after we had left. 

In addition, when my friend and I got into a slight accident attempting the Hai Van pass, they quickly helped us to get back to Hoi An, offered to write the necessary documents for insurance, and helped us change the tickets we had missed.

I cannot properly express the easy and casual manner by which these two women made our experience in Vietnam so shinning. I highly recommend their place.

The atmosphere is perhaps not the fault of the homestay, but rather that all the 5 other guests or so rarely hung out in the common area, which is something I look for. I enjoyed the dorm(cleanest I've been to in Vietnam), the price and the information about Hoi An. Did not enjoy that I felt like I was intruding on the hosts when I initiated talk.
