Good location, pretty easy to find. The ladies who run it are absolutely lovely, even cooking the free breakfast in the morning. Lots of organised tours to choose from too. The beds are very squeaky and not that comfy but it does the job. The lockers in the rooms do not lock (0 out of 6 in our room worked), so just keep your valuables on you. Very cheap so you get what you pay for, but wouldn't hang out in the evenings.

Does the job

If you’re coming to HCMC you need to stay here! It’s clean, friendly, great breakfast. But more than any of that, it’s the host Kim - she will go out of her way to arrange tickets for you for travel and make sure you are very well cared for. The hostel feels like home, the guests interact like a warm family. And, they will make you breakfast just the way you like it! I recommend this hostel for everyone, and will definitely make it a point to stay here again.

Best Hostel in HCMC

Stayed here for one night in a 6-bed dorm. Luckily, there was only two more people except for me in that room, which was a pleasant surprise. 
The bedroom is clean, the girl in the reception was nice and bathroom was ok. Only one toilet/shower to share.
Good location!
There is a karaoke place/ bar just outside the window with loud music going on for a few hours in late evening. 
Big windows with no curtains or covers at all, which made it super bright in the room at 5-6 in the morning. 
So bring earplugs and something to cover your eyes with if you’re sensitive to lights and noises.

We found this hostels location ideal, set back only a couple of kilometres south of the backpacker area of Pham Ngu Lao, nestled in amongst streets of locals. Close enough to walk to all the HCMC must see sights and various eateries around District 1 and surrounds. The staff are super friendly and helpful, we found they had a solid knowledge of the area and helped us with booking Cu Chi tunnel tours and gave good information for us to get to Mien Tay bus station to travel on to the Mekong Delta.

The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Bathroom had everything you’d need and was also clean. A/C worked well and the bed was comfortable. We got the nice little extra of breakfast included with our room which was a tasty toasted roll with jam. Would definitely stay again the next time I’m in HCMC.

Amazing Hostel with friendly staff

After reading some reviews I find that most have it correct, it's a great place , some say not central with a 10 -15 min walk, shame on you , 10 min to the large market, you want to be nearer the center then pay the center prices, during my 4 days here I've found the staff most obliging, going to great lengths to make you the cheap skate happy. 
If less that $6 a night brakes the budget don't come just to say you have been.
The rooms I've seen are spacious, aircon adequate for late spring and 30+.and the staff ( no men as mentioned by some ) clean the rooms and bathrooms every day, 
Yes breakfast is good , a good choice to get you on your way, I booked 2 tours and was as smooth as it could have been, 
No one has mentioned that just recently the Hostel has had new management and a credit to the girls trying hard to keep you happy, 
They saved me a lot of money on taxi fares and even took me to the markets on the back of the bike. 

English was spoke well and is being learned as we read for your benefit, go way up nth and pay that amount with no English or breakfast or directions, 
I'm sure some people go abroad just to find fault when their bus is late, it's their country and they did not ask you to come here, 

So in conclusion, be realistic, it's clean , has hot water, air con, it's very sociable,and friendly,helpful, open 24/7,
Informative, close to markets, food ,etc,for $6 a night, or you could stay at home and pay that for 1 beer or 2 coffee's , yeh

My stay

Enjoyed a stay at the Saigon Central Hostel for 3 nights, which is perfectly located in district 1. The host of the hostel welcomed us warmly and was helpful from the very beginning. Even when i got robbed on the street she immediately organized a translator for the police and took care of us. Also the organization of the trips was done very fast and smoothly. After we left the hostel we could still contact for help. We truly enjoyed staying there and would recommend it to everyone who plans to go to Ho Chi Minh. We can guarantee a satisfied stay.

Best hostel with best staff

Nice and cheap place to stay in Saigon. Its not far from the main points of interest in the city and its very quiet at night, as its not located in a main road.

The beds are comfy, you have your own locker and the bathroom was very clean. It has a really nice shower, although I couldn't get hot water.. Anyway thats good for your skin and spirit.

Breakfast is included; its the usal banh with eggs or butter&jam with some cucumber and watermelon slices. and of course a banana, but still appreciated. 

The staff is great, very friendly and knows well enough English. We had some beers and tea with Sinh last night and talked about many interesting things about life in Vietnam.

Good hostel, very nice staff

Enjoyed a great stay at the Saigon Central Hostel. Good location, very clean, great breakfast, however the thing that makes this place brilliant, is the people who work there! Extremely welcoming, a lot of fun, all round good people! You will enjoy your stay here

Great stay

A great base whilst we were in HCMC for three nights. 

Staff are lovely and very helpful with local knowledge. Ladies in the morning 'Danni' and colleague are the perfect hosts for breakfast. 

Sing the manager was also very informative and welcoming. He takes pride in his clean hostel entrance which is spotless. 

Walking distance to Saigon sky tower and everything you need. A walk by the river was nice after some street food on "co giang" street. 

Cannot hear traffic from room , hot shower , room gets cleaned everyday , strong wifi all around. 

Also booked a tour through the hostel which was very easy to do the night before. 

Overall great stay. Private room is perfect if you want your own space but still on a budget. 



Perfect hostel for a couple

This youth hostel is, as a whole, like all youth hostels, welcoming, inexpensive, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are old, and poorly insulated, not far from the center but not right next to it either, convenient to repair.
