My boyfriend  and I checked into the Flamingo on August 5, 2016.  My boyfriend works swing shift and I like to sit outside when smoking cigarettes.  The day we checked in Pina (owner) asked that we don't have any visitors due to past experiences with prostitutes and we agreed because we understood she was trying to maintain a decent business.  However, that day as I was sitting on the sidewalk in front of my door smoking my boyfriend came back to our room to tell me I wasn't allowed to sit outside anywhere on her property because it looks bad.  I went to talk to her about this strange policy.  What I got was a 10 minute time limit to be outside smoking...weird right?  Things got worse later that evening when I again stepped outside to have a smoke.  My neighbor who was a nice and respectable man also came out to have a smoke.  We started to talk about our dogs and grand kids AND my boyfriend saw us talking, no biggie.  He was kicked out the next morning after being there for 2 weeks because he was seen talking to me and then she indirectly accused me of being a prostitute...WOW!   He was there because his job was down the street  working on the new Kings stadium.  Later the next night she called my boyfriend at work to tell him I'm outside for more than 10 minutes (not true) and that I was wearing shorts...REALLY?!  He told her ok, it's hot outside and lots of people wear shorts.  Later that night I stepped outside for a smoke and I knew my boyfriend was due back at the motel any minute.  Anyway, another neighbor asked for advice from a woman's point of view so I tried to help, the next morning we were kicked out because she knew what was going on (accusing me indirectly of being a prostitute.  She also sent her older daughter to check on me without me knowing but I already knew this sneaky game.  She walked past my room 6 times within 10 minutes and was always on the phone to TRY NOT to look like she was checking on me.  All of what happened was so bizarre and I've never experienced or even heard of such weird stuff as what they did much less thought was going on.  I wouldn't stay there even if it was FREE!

Bizarre Policies

We were very disappointed with this facility.  To start with we asked for non-smoking and were put in a room that smelled like it had been smoked in.  We wanted to unpack but there were no hangers to hang clothes with.  Later we wanted to wash up but there were no washcloths and management when asked about it said they did not provide washcloths we had to use the hand towels instead.  The place was in poor and incomplete repairs:  tile was missing from the wall, the shower drain was broken, the shower had unpainted patches on the wall, the chair fell apart when I sat on it, the bed head board was sloppily screwed to the wall, there was a TV cable strung across the wall, the refrigerator worked but had no shelves, the lighting was very poor in both the room and bathroom.  There were some good things:  the WiFi worked and the room appeared clean when you got used to the cigarette stench.  This place needs to spend some time and money on upgrading their facilities to provide just the basics.  There was one more thing, we did not get any sleep till after midnight because management sponsored a fireworks show.  This might a plus or a minus for you, but we came to there for a place to rest.
