My husband and I had a great stay here. The house was very cute and cozy, and the bed was extra comfortable. Things were a little more eco-friendly than most B&Bs,with recycling and low flow toilets, which was cool. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The best part however, was the amazing breakfasts. I have ridiculous dietary restrictions and didn't expect to be able to eat breakfast at all. They not only found things I could eat, but it was the best breakfast I've had in years. Totally worth the price just for the food. Interesting offerings, very well  prepared. Great coffee too! I can't recommend this place strongly enough. 

Amazing breakfast!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Aberdeen B&B last week! Melinda and David were outstanding hosts who also own Aberdeen. They were so responsive in so many ways. When we mentioned a couple of minor problems our first night, they come up with creative solutions right away. One or both, depending on their other many responsibilities, would join us after we'd been served breakfast to chat about our plans, the town, and so much more. The breakfasts, which seemed to be a team effort, were amazing - melt in your mouth omelets, crispy sweet French toast, and more (ask Melinda to make her grapefruit half, one of a kind). The B&B is walking distance to Sleder's Tavern where you can "kiss the Moose"...food good too! And about a 10 minute walk to Front St. and downtown for shopping, restaurants and the Cherry Republic. Thanks Melinda and David for the the time you spent with us and for a memorable B&B experience!

Warm, welcoming B&B!

Just returned from our stay in Traverse City at Aberdeen Stone Cottage. We greatly enjoyed the hospitality of Melinda and David. Our room on the first floor was just right. The bed was quite comfortable and we had a nice ensuite bath. David cooked a gourmet breakfast each morning and we enjoyed sharing the experiences of other guests around the breakfast table. They have three guestrooms. 

Aberdeen Cottage is located on a shaded treelined street in Slabtown just a few blocks from the lake and quite convenient to downtown, numerous restaurants and brewpubs as well as the shops and restaurants at the restored former State Hospital.

 I really enjoy the bed and breakfast experience when done well and it was at Aberdeen Cottage. So much more personal than staying at a hotel. It was our first trip to Michigan and we found Traverse City to be a great central spot to journey out and explore the region. I hope to travel there again and would gladly stay at Aberdeen Cottage. Great memories!

Nice stay at Aberdeen Stone Cottage

I recently stayed two nights at the Aberdeen Stone Cottage and I must say that I had an amazing time.  Located in a lovely neighborhood, Aberdeen Stone Cottage is close to the water and a nice twenty minute walk to all of the great shops and restaurants that TC has to offer.

I stayed in the Celtic Garden room which was perfect.  I loved the bed, shower, and even the skeleton key for the door.  After a hectic photo workshop in the UP, I was really worn out and sleep deprived when I arrived.  But after two nights in the Celtic Garden room I was refreshed and happily caught up on my sleep.  But the best part of the Celtic Garden room is the garden itself.  It's peaceful and quiet and a great place to sit for an afternoon glass of wine.  

David and Melinda were the perfect hosts.  I'm Vegan and I was concerned about breakfast but the two breakfast I had were extremely good!  The delicious food just kept coming.  The scones were really good and the veggie dishes I had each morning were outstanding.

I had never met David or Melinda prior to my visit but when I had to leave after my two nights I felt like I was saying goodbye to a couple of really close friends. I can't wait until my next visit.

A Wonderful place to stay in Traverse City

What a great place to stay to visit Traverse City and all of the Leelenau Peninsula!  This beautiful cottage is off the beaten path, yet close to everything in Traverse City.  The owners are great: friendly, helpful, and just interesting to talk to.  You feel truly welcomed.  There are only 3 rooms - two upstairs and one down, which makes a comfortable small group at breakfast.  The breakfast is large and very tasty!  I simply couldn't stuff it all in, but not to worry, they take all scrapes out to a local farm - nothing goes to waste.  The upstairs rooms have private bathrooms, but they do not adjoin the bedrooms.  Take your bathrobe along.  There is a comfy common room downstairs that we utilized several times.  Next time we are in the area, this is the first place we will call.  I can't wait to visit again.

Wonderful Place to Relax!

Location was easy walking to the water, easy walking to the bike/walk trail, and easy walking to downtown so perfect.  Quiet neighborhood-perfect  Easy parking-perfect.  However the best part was the engaging personalities of David and Melinda, the breakfast celebration each morning (one should find something to celebrate every day), and the conversations with them and the other very nice guests.  David and Melinda pay close attention to you so they will individualize recommendations based on their conversations and observations of you which tells you that they pay attention to detail.  The rooms are nice and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome both mornings and not standard fare. We loved their selection of teas in the room (so many places only celebrate coffee :0(  ).  Thank you for a wonderful stay and we look forward to the next time whenever that may be.

Refreshing Place to Stay

I can't say enough about the comfort, atmosphere and hospitality of this well-run inn. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed the simple, clean room (the Celtic Cottage room with adjacent garden). There is a guest living area to take a rest between adventures and it is in walking distant to the bays and downtown Traverse City. Melinda and David are friendly, inviting, accommodating and can I tell you about breakfast? Simply delicious! Thank you both and I am hoping to see you next year! - Sarah H.

A Delightful B&B Experience!

We loved staying at the Aberdeen Stone Cottage.  We stayed two nights and we had two delicious breakfasts prepared by David and Melinda.  The room was very comfy and cozy.  David and Melinda gave us a lot of suggestions of what to do in their area.  Would definitely recommend.
