The view of the ocean from our condo was 5 + stars.  Heated pools, beautiful landscaping.  Condo was clean and had plenty of towels.  it also had a tennis court with a pickle ball court.  It was very quiet while we were here.  We enjoyed going for a walk in the morning along the ocean front.  
 I would absolutely stay here again.

I have stayed in two different condo's at this complex. B6 and B18. Both are okay but nothing exceptional.  The complex and the units are old. The wear and tear in the units just can't be ignored.  The door frames have hand grime stains, the bathrooms have old grout that probably is as clean as it can be. The shower curtain liners are old and moldy.. The linens were clean, so that is good, but the overall vibe is worn out. The office is  not well run. We waited for our keys past check in by 45 minutes.  They said the couldn't figure out who was cleaning it. We knocked on B6 thinking we would speak to the cleaner ourselves and relay back to the office. No one answered.  We waited a bit longer and went back to the office.  Low and behold they had mislaid the keys and said it was cleaned a week ago. This was my second time staying here with my boyfriends family. They come here every year because one of the siblings owns a unit, so it became the yearly gathering place for the family. Our experience last year with the office was the same, highly disorganized.  Given a choice I would never go here again.

Old and worn out ....stayed twice same experience 

Very nice place to stay.  Nice pools and beach more private than Myrtle. Very good customer service from office. Easy check in. Nice clean rooms. Fully stocked.  Great family small run local restaurant close by.

Great place.

To start I have been going to this same condo since before my first born child 16 years ago. The last few years it has went down hill fast. 

1. Front office staff is less than friendly. I didn’t care much before bad use it’s a quick check in and check out so I let that go until this year when I had a little more context with them. They give you the feeling like you are staying in there house and if you don’t abide by their rules you will be asked to leave. I felt like I had to keep an eye on my kids and make sure we didn’t get kicked out. Not welcoming or friendly at all. 

2. Rules and cleaning expected is a bit out of hand. Check out time is early and you must do so many things before you leave at that early time. Plus there is a cleaning fee as well as everything you are supposed to do. Not very relaxing when you are trying to make sure your kids aren’t making anyone mad or being loud or walking to loudly for the people below you. 

3. The place use to be kept very clean, the last few years it is not being kept up at all. Some examples include the walkways, full of trash and some kind of old rotten bait smell that was there for the whole week. I know the grounds keeper I see walking around could smell that awfulness as well and see the trash. The pool was a lot more full of scum and debris than I have ever seen. Standing in the pool and looking at the side caked with scum on the ledge made me want to vomit. 

4. Many people I am guessing live there that are some what elderly. These people would come out and get on to my kids for playing in the court yard and being loud. One lady even came out and told my so you better make sure that volleyball doesn’t hit my screen. When he wasn’t even that close to it.  

I could go on but needless to say if you have kids this is not the place for you. We go on a week Long Beach vacation every summer and will be finding a new place for sure that makes us feel welcome and like we are actually there to enjoy ourselves.

Due to covid 19 the Florida Governor has stated that any New York resident visiting his state has to go into a 14 day quarantine.  Our reservations are for one week. We have attempted twice to get a refund and are being refused by this business! Now, they are not answering or returning our calls. Should we contact a lawyer or the state attorney general's office?

Paid an owner required extra charge to stay in a very average unit (A-6). 
Unit is in bad need of an update. Poorly laid out with a lot of wasted space, that 
could be used for a bath in the master bedroom. We have stayed in regular priced
units here before that were much nicer.

Great Beach, Great Grounds, Disappointing Unit (A-6)

Our family spent a week at Four Winds, E-10.  We booked the condo through VRPros/Vtrips.  When we entered the condo, housekeeping was still working (?) but they did notify us in advance that they were running behind.  We just wanted to get our frozen food refrigerated which was no problem.  After getting settled, we realized that the door lockbox on the second floor did not open from the inside or outside, the downstairs area was swept but not mopped, still dirty; the faucet on the kitchen sink was broken, and 2 of the toilets were blocked. The next thing we noticed was the amount of silverware. Keep in mind that this condo sleeps 10, we had 6 forks.  On Sunday morning we went up to Vtrips office in St. Augustine and explained our concern with the toilets, the door and the faucet.  Shortly after, the maintenance man came and told us the door lock would need to be replaced and someone would come on Monday and then he took a picture of the faucet as he said that would have to be replaced and gave us 2 plungers for the toilets, 3 days later the ceiling under one of the bathrooms was leaking.  Monday and Tuesday came and went.  On Wednesday, I called the main office in Ponte Vedra and explained what happened.  They said they would have someone come out and would let me know when they would be there.  Thursday, I had to call again.  I explained what has been happening all week and no one seemed concerned.  In the meantime, we had a storm that knocked out our internet and TV.  Our main concern was the safety of not being able to get out of the condo if there were an emergency.  Our bedrooms were on the 3rd floor and we would have to get down to the first floor to exit the building.  We had several small children with us. After speaking with Robert at the maintenance office, he had someone come out and replaced the lock, this was on Thursday.  Another gentleman came to check on the internet but said that "Comcast" would have to come out and replace the box.  We checked out on Saturday and still had no TV or internet.  We felt sorry for the people checking in after us.  This property needs some love and care.  A few thousand $ would make it unbelievable.  The location could not be any more perfect.  Several of the locals that live there year round said the place is a disaster.  I would not recommend this condo at this time.  Hopefully, the owner will visit the property and try to bring it up to the standards that a rental needs to be.  We spent less money on rentals at Hammock Beach that were beautifully decorated and CLEAN than we did on this unit.  Four Winds seem to have nice condo's but I would booked directly through them.  The woman in the office was very nice and helpful.  She couldn't do anything because we booked through Vacation Rental Pros/Vtrips.

Thru VRBO, we rented a 2 BR 2 B condo 3/20-24. We were very pleased with all aspects of this rental. The owner had really done a quality update of both bathrooms & the kitchen. We were a family traveling w/3 generations ages 2-73. This particular condo, H-9, was a 2 story townhouse which can sleep 8.. EVERYTHING we could possibly need was provided, even sand buckets, pool noodles, beach towels, detergent for the kitchen sink and DW, etc. There are 2 heated outdoor pools. A W/D is included behind folding doors.

Great Place to Stay

During our second week at Four Winds, our son and his family visited and slept in the guest room.  This was the first time we had used that room and the bed he slept in was infested.  The infestation was so bad, he was covered in bites and we could see the bedbugs! The seemingly nice ladies at the front desk told us to move to a hotel and keep receipts because they had no other units available.  We had to hot wash all of our clothes, throw out our suitcases, and leave behind perishables.  Then those nice ladies told us their management was not responsible and we had to deal directly with the owners.  Owners were rude at best and tried to blame us for the bugs!!  We barely got our money back for only the second half of our month's rent. And when we went back to those same nice ladies, they told us management would not pay for our forced two nights at the hotel!  
Our family trip was ruined, we spent hundreds of dollars on recovery and no one at Four Winds ever even apologized.  The smiles are fake here.  All they care about is the money.

Beware bedbugs blamed on innocent guests at Four Winds!

My retired grandparents live here and they are living the life. I visit every now and then. It's very relaxing and beautiful. The beach sand is a little mucky during off-seasons. It's not perfect but it's nice.
