Great location on a quieter and calm beach. The grounds were well kept and amenities worked great. It was perfect for a girl’s trip (multiple FULL bathrooms!). The host was incredibly helpful in navigating the island and getting ideas on things to do. Roosters woke you up every morning though and the TVs did not work, a very very small price to lay for a great location in paradise.

Beautiful Calm Beachfront

Nani Kai Hale is a maybe 40 yr old condo complex but is well maintain, clean and a nice contrast to the large resorts.  Right on Sugar Beach with a great patio, lawn and pool.  Sugar Beach Events is next door so when they had a Luau going we could listen to the music on the lawn or in the pool...an unexpected bonus.  1 bedroom, a sleeper sofa in the living room, two bathrooms and nice kitchen was a perfect setup for us.

Our rate was very affordable and the location is central in Maui so makes it easy to get to Kahului, Lahaina and Wailea (of course nothing is near Hana).

Large Resort Alternative

This is a one bed room condo with a small kitchen and a living/dining area.  The unit has a balcony with narrow view of the beach/ocean.  The property is accessed from a quiet cul-de-sac.  It has direct access to the beach with a private grassed area between the building and the beach with lounge chairs, tables and a BBQ area.  The building and grounds were well maintained.  The units in the building are privately owned.  While I believe they are all similar these comments apply only to Unit 208.  Access to the units is from an outside walkway on the south side of the building.  Windows for the rooms are on the north side.  Very small windows on the south side provide ventilation.  The unit has air conditioning, but we did not need it.  The unit suited our (2 people) needs and we would stay there again.  There is a sofa bed in the living room area.  
The tile floors, the 2 bathrooms and the windows could have been cleaner.
The is no grocery store near by within walking distance.

Great holiday stay.

We love Nani Kai Hale! It is in a great location in north Kihei. We loved walking to Ululani’s to get shaved ice (almost daily). Easy access to the highway to get to other parts of the island. We have stayed in 2 different units at this complex (in 2017 and 2018) and both were pretty similar. It is small so not crowded at all, and everyone is really friendly. Free parking and plenty of spots. The beach isn’t great for swimming or snorkeling but wonderful to walk and enjoy the scenery. I would recommend staying here for anyone looking for a low-key, relaxed environment. I’m sure we will be back! 

Great location; no crowds 

Pros: location is within 5 mins of beaches, walkable to cafes. Pool is nice and property backs onto a nice beach. View from lanai is pretty. Bed is comfortable. Second bathroom sink and mirror is convenient. Has microwave and full stove and fridge. Cleaning staff is lovely and accommodating.Cons: in the only bedroom the AC doesn’t work properly. We followed the manual and it would turn on and turn off within minutes every single time. It was useless. Property mgmt said they informed owner who indicated they would replace the unit but this didn’t happen within our stay which was disappointing. When you arrive no AC is on so the place feels humid and uncomfortable. By the second night with the fan (one doesn’t work) and AC on in the living room the bedroom is tolerable at night for one person but would be too hot for more than one person. Floors feel very dirty. Bathtub is creaky and needs replacing. Lanai door is a hazard. Overall wouldn’t stay again and we are very open minded. Needs major updating and at the very, very least the bedroom AC needs replacing for it to be a descent option. Lots of potential though for some upgrades!

Having 2 bathrooms.  I didn’t like the closets coz it was full of junk. The sofa bed had a very thin mattress.

Not the best property we’ve stayed at for sure, everything just seems old, worn down and uncared for. Daily occurrence of bugs and cockroaches in the kitchen, so had to be extra careful to not leave food related garbage anywhere, even in the garbage bin. Screen door was a joke, it barely was able to open to the back porch, glass door never shut right. Front door lock was loose, sometimes the screws would bind in the door and not let you in. Bedroom air con did not work (why even have it in there then???), luckily the living room air con did work though. No towels anywhere, the ironing board was broken, TV and cable difficult to figure out. None of the remotes in the bedroom worked. They did have a couple of extra fans in the closet which were nice, but they were dirty and didn’t stay pointed where you wanted. There is a pool available and a BBQ area, and it’s right on the beach, so those are positives. Parking isn’t too bad and the elevator worked fine. I’d say overall it was barely passable, but definitely won’t be staying there again.

Loved the condo, the people, the beach, the location everything....except an event center has opened up beside it. Yes they have to be inside with the doors closed after 11 PM, but every time someone opens the door you get a blast of music. There were four events out of the seven nights we were there and had to sleep with the windows closed - so much for that pounding surf.

Beautiful Place - Annoying Neighbors

I had a terriable experiance this property. It is cleaned and dust is all over the place. Floors are not cleaned. Dead roaches in the kitchen and roaches roamining all around the kitchen and not living area. Not safe to live this property. The time we checked in very late and Complianed to Expedia and Vtrips about the condition of the property. No action was taken. No other properties are available because of late night. Ended up sleeping in the car with two kids and walked out.

The only thing good about this property is the outdoor sitting area and the pool and barbeques location was fine. The unit 501 should never been rented out.
