If you want to experience all the best that Alaska has to offer, Bear Track Inn in Gustavus is the place to enjoy that kind of adventure.  
Even during the precipitation, the staff at Bear Track was open, friendly and engaging, working to make sure our tip was outstanding. 
They provided a whole menu of options from whale watching, fishing, hiking or simply sitting in the great room enjoying the view.  Every one of their recommendations was spot on.  
The food selection and quality was fabulous and plentiful and the beverages available were also broad and excellent.
In short, the entire experience at Bear Track Inn was worth the effort and cost and we would go back in a heartbeat!

I have to say this was the best place I have stayed in Alaska.  The place is amazing to see.   Huge logs make up the building and it has a 30 foot wall of windows in the lobby to watch for wildlife.    

I stayed here with my family and they had so many things to do we were never bored.   Even when it rained (which it is certain to do in SE Alaska) they had rain gear and boots for us to use to go explore.   We hiked up to the waterfalls and then down to the beach to look for bear, moose and wolf prints.    In the evening we roasted marshmallows at the outdoor fire pit while the "adults" had wine in the lobby around the indoor fireplace.  It was a perfect place for all ages.

Best Place I have Stayed in Alaska!

The staff and food were fantastic. Everyone so friendly. Perfect location in remote scenic Gustavus. I stayed three nights and they arranged 3 activities - whale watching on small boat - amazing with hydrophone to hear whales sing and watched humpback’s bubble net feeding -wow. The second activity was an all day kayak with whales and sea lions and harbor seals - also fantastic. The last day was small boat tour of Glacier bay with Park Ranger also perfect and ended with another great dinner at the inn. They take care of all transportation , breakfast and dinner and snacks before dinner. Activities are extra. I will be a return visitor - best place to stay for Glacier Bay NP. Even saw an Alaska hummingbird at the Inn.

Authentic Alaska experience in quiet part of Gustavus for Glacier Bay NP

Absolutely loved our stay at the lodge, everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The location is stunning and we enjoyed the local treks. Thanks so much to Michelle and the team. The whale watching was amazing and the trip in to the Glacier Bay national park was a definite “must do”

Highly recommended for nature lovers

The Bear Track Inn is fabulous destination and place to stay. Gustavus is a great place to launch a Glacier Bay adventure. The amenities are great with a huge outdoor fire pit and outdoor games. The lodge is incredible and the beds and rooms were welcoming and very comfortable. There are some nice trails at the lodge to enjoy and the Alaskan night sky is amazing from the back deck. Kyle and the wait staff were wonderful and the food was excellent. Michelle is the quintessential hostess with wonderful recommendations and good conversation. All the transports to and from the ferry and activities were convenient and an added bonus. Highly recommend adding the Bear Track Inn to you southeast Alaska itinerary.

Great Glacier Bay Stay at Bear Track Inn

Came to Bear Track Inn with family as a last stop on a 2 week trip in Alaska and could not have asked for a more perfect end to our journey. Michelle was a wonderful host and set up kayaking and a day boat tour, both of were amazing. Staff were great, the place is beautiful, and I hope to someday be able to return.

We have stayed in multiple places in Gustavus and enjoyed the bear track in over most! Friendly, and easy to feel comfortable like at home. Food, service, and organization getting us to our fishing trip for 3 days was great! Highly recommend choosing bear track in for your trip whether you are visiting the fish, or the glacier and everything in between!!!

I am Executive Chef  Trey Yager and I had the distinct pleasure of working at this incredible lodge. The family that owns this beautiful place are simply amazing people. I would call Dave one of my closest friends. It was a great experience and I can can say the staff, the facility, and the ownership is top notch. Everything they do is the best of the best. This experience was the greatest summer of my life. I highly recommend if you get the chance, or make the chance, you and your family need to experience this incredible lodge.
I must say that as their executive chef the food and experience is amazing. 

I need to say that someone has written a review with my last name and it’s a fraudulent review and couldn’t be further from the truth.

Awful place do not waste your time or money. Food is the same everyday and the nickel and dime you for everything. There is really nothing to do at this lodge and it smell like mold. Stay somewhere else.

We were at the Bear Track Inn for 4 nights and had prescheduled 3 boat tours.  Unfortunately the time we were at the Inn included a storm front. Our hosts, Michelle and David proactively rescheduled two of the trips to maximize our possibilities for being able to go on all three. Unfortunately, one of the trips still had to be canceled, but Michelle kept us apprised of the captain’s assessment of the weather and when it became apparent that we needed to change plans helped us find a great hike to explore. The Inn was beautiful and unique in a fantastic setting. We found the scenery as beautiful as expected, but also experienced extraordinary hospitality from the owners and the entire staff much beyond our expectations!
