First off, as the saying goes, "you get what you pay for". I didnt make a reservation for the Bing University Family weekend and this was the closest hotel before having to drive 40 miles.  So I took the plunge and paid the sale price of $44 plus taxes etc.  So how bad could one night be.  So we pull in to the inn about 20 minutes from the university. Rust everywhere, garbage cans overflowing. One can even had a cover that seem to have been ripped off by a bear and left as a memorial. Outside was a old ill kept race car (you make a judgement).  Again, I wasn't expecting much, but I was hoping for something clean. So we had a room on the second floor. The first three steps were very unstable and needed repair and had this dingy red carpet. We make it to the second floor landing and guess what? More dingy red carpet, I guess I now know why it has this name. However, it looks like it's been the same red carpet last installed in 1980. It was more black than red and peeling throughout.  Now what really let you know you have arrived was as soon as you made it to the second floor you were greeted by flies swarming the carpet. It seems the only major upgrade was the magnetic credit card style keys. The room had a small wall a.c., the tv was a classic from the 1990's, I believe it was a 25". The room was non-smoking, but trust me you were never getting the smell out of that room. I won't mention the bed and it's floral prints, cause it was what I was expecting for $44.  Needless to say  we lasted only 15 minutes in the room. As soon as I got in I went online and found a motel 10 minutes from the university for $140 and ran out of that place. The owner could not understand why I had a problem.  Now the room I am at is your typical $70-90 a night place but a lot higher because of the event, but I feel like I am in the Westin Palace. This inn needs some serious renovation repair  and then they should raise their rates a bit. If not, this place needs to close down. There is no way this place could pass any type of inspection.  I wish I took pictures but I really was to disgusted and my priority was finding anyplace even if it meant sleeping in my car.

Beware!

I booked this hotel at $43 a night, then was told it was $99, which then jumped again to $110. The room was not clean at all, very outdated, had to ask for toilet paper and towels twice- of which we never got the towels, but the shower was so disgusting we didn't plan on using it anyways. Never again!

Horrible!

We stayed here recently despite the reviews and true enough it had its shortcomings... 

Having arrived at night, the outside looked like it had been abandoned - there was a broken staircase, lights were kinda dim and there were spiderwebs in corridor (but they were pretty thick so very obvious so you'd know to avoid them)

The office has a basic breakfast setup but they don't serve breakfast 

The room seemed pretty old with the furniture fairly worn. While there were no amenities listed aside from an air conditioner our room did have a coffee machine, microwave, and refrigerator. The beds and the bathroom were clean but I'd recommend bringing your own bath towel. 

Overall it's a slightly better alternative to sleeping in your car so if you just need a place to crash for the night it's fine - you're basically getting what you paid for (which is significantly lower in comparison to the others in the area) 

Set your expectations [way] low and it'll be fine

If I could give this 1/2 star, I would, just because it had a bed and toilet. Even though I had to clean the toilet before use, and the shower had so much mildew that it smelled. The shower door was broken/jammed. I was exhausted, it was one short night, and I wasn't going to shower or I would have requested a room change. The phone had dried stuff on it, and after cleaning it, didn't even work. The rug hadn't seen a vacuum, there were bloodstains on the bed, and the sink strainer had hair and whatever else in it. There were no towels or toilet paper. The a/c was broken, and the motel didn't have wifi for the entire graduation weekend! A graduation weekend with a full house and the rooms weren't cleaned and no cable? The place should be closed. It's unsafe AND unhealthy. The assistant manager saw the shower and his reaction was "Oh, XXXX! There's nothing I can do. We ran out of rooms." I will never, ever go there again, I would sleep in my car.

Worst place stayed in my life

I was terrified to stay here after reading the reviews, but I was out of options because it was Memorial Day weekend. 

And it's true: "ramshackle " would be a kind word for this place. Dingy outdoor carpet. One set of stairs closed, it has gotten so dangerous. No cable. 

But my room was clean. The guy who checked us in was polite. Clean, good sized fridge and microwave. The tiny window overlooked a little field and a maple tree both filtered the sun and welcomed birds that sang us to a restful morning.

Fresh coffee in the lobby, real tablecloths at breakfast. So breakfast was plastic wrapped cookies and pastries--what did you expect for 41 bucks?
