Stayed 3 nights.  What a treat of a place!!!!  We thankfully stumbled across this place while looking for a traditional hotel for our roadtrip during Covid-19.  Reviews for traditional chain hotels had scared us from staying anywhere, and contemplating renting an RV... until we saw this B&B.  I called the owner to ask about his quarantine procedures, and was amazed at the lengths they were taking to ensure everybody's safety, including their own.  We immediately booked the room and arrived a week later.  We were well cared for!  The house was freshened everyday, windows opened to air it out every morning while coffee brewed and breakfast was sizzling in the kitchen.  The back patio was the "it" place to hang out all the time, as it is covered with a beautiful view of the Sandia Mountain.  It has several sitting areas and a dining area all under the covering.  Imagine, morning coffee, snuggled on a couch with a book (you never read), outside, watching the sun rise behind the Sandia mountain, and quail, roadrunner, hummingbirds and bunnies eating up their rations from feeders scattered around the property!  Yes, the wildlife are fed before coffee is ready....  which is absolutely perfect!  The b&b puppy "JoJo" was our morning buddy and we enjoyed playing with her before breakfast every morning.  Because they were allowed only 1 room rental a night.... we were absolutely pampered, spoiled and felt truly at home.  I have a feeling these very kind owners have a special knack of making every guest feel this way.

Felt Pampered during Covid-19

I had to attend a funeral.  I wanted a place that was more homey than a hotel.  Someone recommended the Chocolate Turtle B&B.  I booked a room and was very pleased with the time there.  
I drove and ended up arriving at 10PM 
I was greeted at the door with a smile.  My room was beautiful and cozy.  The shower was wonderful.  Nice nd big and the towels were Awesome.  Giant towels to wrap up in and dry off.  The entire property is well kept and beautiful.  
I would recommend this place because Denise goes out of her way to make it special.  It was very special. I will be back.

Great find

I was in NM to celebrate my 3/4 century mark with my siblings. I stayed at the Chocolate Turtle, because I love Corrales and I wanted some time to myself. I was comfortable, the views were awesome, the hosts warm and welcoming. Breakfasts were delicious. I really liked the orange french toast.

My birthday

Great place to stay.  We rented 2 rooms to accommodate our family. Our breakfast was different every morning, they even cooked my picky son breakfast his way after day 2 because were observant enough to realize his wants. Breakfast table settings were different every morning.  Different colored table cloths, napkins, different napkin rings, different bowls cups plates.  All these little details make for fun start to the days adventures in NM.  The lady of the house kept fresh decanter of drinking water in both of our rooms she kept fresh towels in our private restrooms.  Everything was very clean.  There was one other couple here during our 4 day stay and we never felt crowded. The back porch view of Turtle Mountain (Sandia) mountain was perfect.   Great location in a older area of town but only :05 min drive to all the modern resources like shopping and food. Old town Corrales and neighboring older areas had some terrific mom n pop restaurants and shopping. Albuquerque down town not far, we did that for a day. Went to numerous American Indian culture museums and villages with in a hour of the B&B.  Drove up to Santa Fe to snow ski again close. I wouldn’t bother with Albuquerque snow ski accommodations.  Great trip, great accommodations.  Highly recommend the Chocolate Turtle B&B. 

New Years get away 

If you are looking for a relaxing place to escape the rat race look no farther. Excellent accommodations, pleasant caring hosts, all in a laid back atmosphere so rare in today's hustle-bustle. We returned for a second stay and were just as impressed as the first time. Thanks Kieth and Denise.

Superb stay

This was a beautiful location and excellent hosts.  Nice rooms, great breakfast!  The owners had a great recommendation for dinner, too.  Beautiful yard to enjoy the sunset.   Highly recommended!

Awesome B&B.  

The setting for the wedding was beautiful.  What the owners leave out is that they control what happens at wedding. The bride and groom wanted to have a champagne toast before the wedding, the owners banning this, to say alcohol is to only happen at the reception, and guests must leave by 10pm. The DJ, a good friend of the bride and groom was offered a beer. The owners became irate; he was not to be given alcohol. The photographer was told, unbeknown to the parents of the bride and groom, to hurry up and take photos, the cake needed to be served. The owners were not hired as wedding planners, nor were they asked to participate in any capacity at the wedding. The photographer, hired for the celebration, was directed to hurry up and complete the photos. Only later did the parents of the bride and groom learn this information. To think that they yelled at the bride and groom on their special night, about photos and offering beverages that they provided themselves, is abysmal. The next morning, the now husband and wife were taking down the decorations they provided for the ceremony. The male owner refused to provide a step stool to assist, angry, yelling at the newlywed.  The night before, the female owner balled out the newlywed bride. 
Neighbors were asked over to “spy” on the guests, drinking the alcohol, though they were not part of the celebration.
The place gets two stars because the background made a nice setting. 
Never, ever book a wedding here. 
Also, look into all stipulations, tell the owners to not tell anyone what to do during the wedding reception, to not boss and stay away from the photographer, to say if you want to give an alcoholic beverage to the DJ it is not their business. 
If they are tired of all the receptions and they want it to be over with, do not tell this to the wedding party. 
If those paying the bill had known this, the Better Business Bureau, the Attorney General’s Office, and mass media would have gone viral.
I do not know how they handle other events.  Perhaps they should only handle individual guests, not any event.
What a sad and horrible memory it has been for the bride and groom.

Watch Out!

This place only caught our eye as we thought the name was hilarious, in the UK a chocolate turtle means something else. But when we looked at the web site we thought it looked great so we booked it. The home is beautiful and so comfortable, the hosts welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The location is great and so many lovely places to eat in Corrales. Without doubt the best breakfast we have had in the USA.

Everything about the Chocolate Turtle was perfect, Keith and Denise have created the rare thing of a B&B you don't want to leave. On very short notice Keith catered for me being a vegan (sorry Keith my bad!) and the breakfast were always superb.

Wonderful B&B, just perfect

We chose to end our road trip through parts of the Southwest by staying at this quiet and lovely Albuquerque B&B. The setting is just wonderful for morning coffee and breakfast -- an open patio and back courtyard overlooking Sandia Mountain, with native plants, cheerful birds, bunnies, and the occasional roadrunner. Our room was very comfortable with all the necessities at hand. (The bathroom sink has a cabinet with counter space and drawers for our "stuff". Note to B&B owners and hotels: pedestal sinks don't cut it!) 
The best part of our stay was the hosts, Keith and Denise. They are warm, welcoming, fun, and wealth of information on the local area. We'll likely go back just to see them again!
