Stayed at Briscoe Lodge for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyable stay. Graham was a fantastic host making you feel at home as soon as you arrived. Had a great knowledge of local area and took time to explain things. Nice room which had everything you needed. Also very handy for walking into shops etc. Breakfast was also everything you would need. If back in area with job would definitely be back, would recommend Briscoe Lodge if you are looking for somewhere to stay in Windemere.

Fabulous Stay At Briscoe Lodge

Spent a lovely couple of days here. Graham was extremely welcoming. Arrived earlier than check-in to ask if i could leave my bag to find my room was ready and i was allowed into it. Fabulous choices for breakfast.  Bed was extremely comfortable and just what was needed after a busy day. Graham let me leave my bag for a few hours after check out so i didn't have to haul it around with me until my train time. Clean and tidy although decor is a little dated for my tastes and the bathroom had carpet in it, again this just isn't my personal taste and will not stop me from staying here again. Freeview channels on the tv, Wifi access in rooms and a nice selection on the hospitality tray, also had a hair dryer in the room.

The Briscoe Lodge is located in a very quiet area close to the heart of Windermere: nearby, you will find shops, bars, restaurants and bus stops. The railway station is just a few minutes walk away.

Graham, the owner, is one of the kindest person I have ever met. He is always ready to help and gave lots of advice about places to visit and which hikes to take.

The place was really clean.

Furthermore, the continental breakfast offered was really rich, including bread, jams, Nutella, yogurts, fruit juices and hot drinks.

Finally, I would highly recommend this place and definitely would come back again!

Beautifu and cozy guesthouse in the heart of Lake District

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights and the room was spotlessly clean and bathroom modern. The bed was also very comfy and we slept well; although only a 5 minute walk into the centre of Windermere, the road was very quiet at night. Graham was a lovely host and helpful with recommending walking routes. He also provided a good breakfast spread. We would definitely come back to stay here again as it provided everything we needed (& more!). We had a wonderful weekend.

Excellent location

I stayed for two nights (Monday-Wednesday)
Graham was so friendly and made me feel very welcome. I booked directly, which made it cheaper.
My room was very clean and the bed was so comfy! I haven’t slept that well for a long time! 
Breakfast has a good selection and they even went out of their way to get me dairy free milk. A lovely touch. 
Only a five minute walk into the hustle and bustle of Windermere, where there are so many restaurants and bars to choose from! 
Thank you for a fantastic time away and I’ll be back!

Lovely, little find!

I stayed at Briscoe Lodge for the night having seen a single room on Booking.com and paid a bit less by going direct. Lovely period Victorian Lakeland house, warm, comfortable, clean, fantastic hosts, great breakfast, a really good overnight stop. Shame I was going to the station on way to work and not staying for a couple of days walking and pubs!

Overnight B&B stay in Windermere

What a little gem. We stayed in the apartment the back. Spacious and clean with its own parking spot. Quiet. No view  but it’s a spot to sleep and relax. Lounge is spacious. Two bedrooms. Bathroom has a generous shower. Plenty of hot water and a heated towel rail. Kitchen is fitted with all you need. Owner is lovely and very helpful.

Little gem in Windermere for those on a budget

We have just stayed for 4 nights in the self-catering apartment at Bristol Lodge. The last time we were here was 11 years ago and it was just as great as we remembered.
I booked by phone with Graham and he was very helpful as I had remembered.
We arrived early as we had problems parking in nearby towns, but our apartment was ready so Graham showed us round.
Everything is very clean and comfortable. 
It was great to have a proper sitting room and the additional bedroom (where we left our bags).
Briscoe Lodge is only a 2 minute walk into Windermere and the self-catering option has an off road parking space which is very useful.
Graham was able to give us suggestions for eating out - one was Cafe Italia that we went to twice as it was so good!
Briscoe Lodge is an excellent base for the area and Graham is a wonderful host.
Highly recommended!

Return visit - long overdue!

Very welcoming, friendly hosts. Graham had some really good tips on things to do, I took his advice and had a great day out as a result. 
I was impressed by my room and how clean it was. The bed was very comfortable. It was hard to find space to open my suitcase. The bathroom shower was nice, the toilet's flush was weak. There is carpet in the bathroom, it didn't bother me too much as it did look clean however would prefer to have a bathroom not carpeted for hygiene purposes. I would have liked to have had a bin in the bedroom, the only bin was a small pedal bin in the bathroom and it did become full really quickly with general rubbish.
Breakfast was lovely, breakfast is at 9am however I believe they do accomodate if you need it earlier and I was asked. There is a pre-order form to fill out the night before and leave outside your door by 7pm, however I was late one evening and panicked but it didn't seem to matter as my breakfast was still prepared at 9am.
The family do have a cat although unfortunately I only got to see her from afar.
I did wake up very early during my stay, it wasn't as quiet in the mornings as I would have liked due to this being a family run b&b with children, in the mornings and evenings I could hear the hustle and bustle of family life - conversation, children playing, doors opening and closing, television. I was glad it wasn't a holiday I'd booked with my partner as I don't really feel it's private enough but that's just me personally.
It would also be good to have a do not disturb sign for the door, as with it only being a 2 night stay I never feel there's anything in my room that needs cleaning or attending too so would prefer not to have anyone enter.
Great tv, however others mentioned having Netflix, I was unable to access this on the tv in my room, I got my hopes up when I saw links to youtube, Netflix etc however the tv said it couldn't find a network connection. 
The facilities nearby are great. Took me about 20-25 minutes to walk to Lake Windermere. Sainsburys a 5 minute walk away along with other shops and cafes. Windermere station about a 10-15 minute walk. The beginning of the path to Orrest Head is also a 10-15 minute walk away, and good bus links into ambleside, grasmere etc.
Overall a pleasant stay!

Self contained, shops closeby.
Great resturants and not far from the station.
Great location and very comfortable. Clean and everything you need is here. Graeme was very welcoming.
Sainsburys just up the road. Mountain goat tours were excellant
