Very close to Winchester centre, easy 15 min walk. Close to m way access.
Very helpful staff, clean rooms, excellent pre visit communication. Breakfast service was excellent, friendly staff. Would stay again.

Weekend visit

Overnight midweek break with my wife by way of a birthday celebration for yours truly. This PI is very easy to find straight off the M3 and it is just minutes drive from Winchester centre. The town seems to be buzzing at the moment, lots of restaurants and bars with lots of people about.
Our room was clean, same layout as others which we like, if I was to mark them down on anything there are a few mould spots in the bathroom tiling joints and stains on the bathroom ceiling...but not gross in any way but could probably be dealt with before they get worse. The bathroom is the impact room in these hotels, get those immaculate and you can worry less about the room! Other than that minor thing, nice hotel, friendly staff and clean.....and, of course, the wonderful nights sleep on those glorious mattresses they buy! Never had a bad one yet.....

Very handy and useful for Winchester and surrounds

The only criticism was the fact you had to switch the bathroom light on from the room, this tended to disturb the other occupant. Apart from that, fantastic great value hotel, plenty of free parking and a short walk to the city centre. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel, says it all really. 

Great stay

Good car parking, early check-in in appreciated  very friendly welcome.  Premier Plus room was very clean  quiet  coffee machine was a nice touch.  Bed very comfortable, excellent shower.  Breakfast was satisfactory.  Ten minute walk to town centre.  Overall very pleased.

Good base for Winchester visit

We have stayed here before and enjoyed our stay that we booked again for this trip. It’s convenient to the town, with a 30 minute nice walk to shops, restaurants, Christmas market etc. 

This time was slightly different. We checked in and were given our room number. We had book premier plus and like these rooms more. On arriving to the room, we found it was not ready at all and cleaner came running out of the opposite room shouting no no don’t go in there!! 
Went back to reception and was given a different room instead. 
Room was ok but a lot smaller than other premier plus rooms we gave stayed in recently. 
It was clean which was the main thing. However, quite dated, no storage space for clothes except for hanging clothes, carpet very stained, ripped stool, netting pole for window held up with teabag packets!!! 
Bathroom was tiny too although had a nice shower. 
One concern was that we couldn’t open the window even a fraction to let in any fresh air. So the room was constantly stuffy! 
Another was that you don’t get your room cleaned daily anymore. I believe you have to request it to be cleaned before 12 o’clock. 
We didn’t mind this as we were only there for 2 days. But we would have liked teabags, milk, toilet rolls etc replenished daily. 
Restaurant was ok. We did meal deal with dinner and breakfast included which is good value for money. 
Menu choice is quite small in the evening though and then on top of the minimal menu they had run out of a few things on the Saturday evening then even more things were missing by the Sunday evening!! Staff were lovely though and very apologetic. 
Coffee machine was broken and they had no wine glasses either. Guy behind the bar said that people take them to their rooms and take them home.
Anyway after saying all this we had a lovely weekend in Winchester and will be back again at some stage. 
Seemed we just chose a bad weekend!

Disappointing this time.

AMAZING SERVICE!! The staff were all lovely. Food was great and a sparkling clean room. Lovely hotel with all the necessary facilities and a team with a great attitude who are always on hand to help.  Will definitely stay again!!

FIVE STARS!!

Great stay from booking in to checking out, just what I needed. Great food hot evening meal and all you can eat breakfast who could want more. Team were friendly and were happy to chat when I was about. Thank you Winchester I will stay again,

Just what I needed

The staff a Winchester premiership Inn we’re very helpful we did have a small problem when signing in but was quickly resolved be the gentleman on reservation.

The room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay, breakfast was excellent a lot to choose from and it catered for everyone’s need.
I will be staying there again as we visit our granddaughter ever so often.

we've stayed in a lot of premier inns over the years and have been very happy with them. At winchester the room was fine the bed very comfy and all good value. However the staff were not up to the normal standard. they were all totally disinterested, with no eye contact and no welcome at reception. the restaurant staff looked very understaffed and once again smiles and eye contact non existent

not as good as usual

I travelled there to meet family who were coming from another part of England.   Having stayed in some Premier Inn over the years,  there is a certain standard I thought I could expect.  Whereas the room and communal areas were up to the clean standard expected, sadly there was a striking shortage of staff.   The same  member of staff had to look after the people checking in and run the coffee area  - and due to the double duties we had to go somewhere else to find a coffee as the facilities were not open at the time we had been told.
