This hotel is in a good location just a few minutes walk to the local restaurants and there is free parking just opposite the hotel. 
The room was a decent size and the bathroom was large with a great shower. Beds were comfortable. 
The staff were friendly and breakfast was excellent, both porridge and full cooked Scottish breakfast were fresh and plentiful.

I’d booked a twin room - single occupation only. The room I was given was room 1. The beds were comfy and there was enough room. The bathroom had a shower only. The room had a flat screen tv, hair dryer and plenty of storage space. 

Getting to the room may be an issue for those who have difficulties with stairs. From the front of the hotel you go up stairs and then back down to get to reception.

I used the restaurant, meals were filling and served pretty quickly. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and there was parking for cars at the front and side of the hotel in public car parking. 

Good B&B - Covered the Essentials

We stayed for a single night on our NC500 road trip;  Wick was a convenient stop between Inverness and Durness and the Nethercliffe Hotel offered reasonable rates and had a restaurant attached to keep things simple.  The proprietor was friendly when we checked in and the backyard garden is a delight, but the old building is a maze of doors and hallways and steps making it less than ideally user-friendly.  Had we been in any way mobility impaired, I doubt we could have managed.

There is some parking across the street and some additional parking just down the road.  It appears the area is residential so we were happy the hotel had an on-site restaurant and we didn’t have to head out to find someplace to eat.  We were the only folks in the restaurant for dinner, but perhaps we simply arrived too early for the crowd to form.  The food was fine, the service good.

The room was on the small side, perhaps a touch too cozy for true comfort, but basically outfitted with everything needed for a pleasant night.  The bathroom was equally basic, with a small encased shower.  

All in all, the Nethercliffe Hotel was a decent hotel providing a warm welcome and basic lodgings.

The picture of the garden does NOT do it justice. It is beautiful and we sat out there rather than in small room. On arrival from the street you think you have come to a working men's club but things rapidly improve. The decor is dated but clean and the welcome genuine and friendly. Our room was small but at least the window could be opened. The bed just a 4 ft 6 inch double . I prefer more space. With the furniture in the room I had little space to move . I think we could manage without the dressing table to create a little more space. Tea making facilities available . We slept reasonably well even though it was the Sat night of the carnival in Wick and that is a BIG event there .No noise from the street . Breakfast was cooked to order and served in the restaurant. It was good but the only food that we ate there as although I booked food for the first night we were told when enquiring about hire cars that the kitchen was closed that night . I should have cancelled my booking for a rated restaurant in town the following night . It was a real disappointment, the Sunday high tea the hotel was offering, sounded so much better. At £95 it was good value .

Good, not VERY Good.

Upon arrival the hotel sits on an uninspiring housing estate. Inside the reception staff were warm and friendly, our motorbikes were securely parked up for the night through a small gate into the garden area. Our room was disappointingly small and cramped with a view from a small window over roof tops. We had a drink at the bar, with two locals who weere the only other customers , looked at the menu and decided to eat elsewhere. At breakfast we were the only ones in the dining room so assumed that we were the only guests.
Ok for one night.

Average standard

Stayed here for two nights last week with my Mum and Aunt. The hotel is a big old building on several levels.The whole place is spotless, rooms are lovely and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are also two lounges which you can use, which were useful in the evenings. The breakfast is great, plenty of choice, the fresh fruit salad (which you order) is really good (consisted of raspberries, strawberries, melon, grapes, cherries and blueberries). The cooked breakfast is of a very high standard and really tasty (local butchers used). The back garden, which has seats for sitting out, is clearly very well looked after and as was the hotel spotless (not a weed to be seen). There are also two car parks to use.

Excellent stay!

Arriving at the road side of the hotel one is not charmed. But despite its unprepossessing look do go in. The staff are welcoming and know their job. The hotel is clean, our room had modern new, furniture and the bathroom had recently been refitted with a big shower. Dinner was too early for us so i cannot comment, but breakfast was good and when the waitress found we could not eat gluten she sent someone out to buy gluten free bread so we could still have toast, despite us saying it wasn't important. That is service. This hotel is not exciting true but is excellent value for money, providing a clean comfy stay with big smiles.

Small central hotel with restaurant, friendly accommodation. Simple but carefully maintained rooms, with shower, toilet, TV and wifi. Lounge with piano. Superb little garden at the back (grass cut 3 times a week) Full lunch.

Nice little hotel.

I share what another review of this hotel says: a little old, but clean. Actually it's not just this hotel that's old, but the whole town of Wick, a town that seems abandoned, so many shops are closed and so few people around.
