Absolutely Disgraceful and unprofessional from the start.
I initially Took an extra stay in wakefield and I was familiar with the Holmfield arms and Hotel , I booked through booking.com 
And paid £80 for 1 night with no breakfast added .
I was not informed that they would be music Playing at the premises on the night I stayed. 
It was not included within the booking conditions.  I was informed when got to the reception. They gave me a room infront of the marquee. Constantly banging bass from 730pm till 11pm .on my way to the hotel reception there was a heap of rat traps scattered all over 
I saw at least 3 big rats near reception area .I know it's near a park but not good . The general manager was being very personal and not even offered a discount or meal vouchers of some instance 
They would not give a refund. They lied and assumed I had dealings of a business engagement there ,Absolutely appalling 
Please think before you go They are owned by Greene King. Very expensive and terrible service and very greedy

Terrible company / don't book

Had a beautiful family Easter lunch today 31/03/24...served by Poppy who gave us excellent service and deserves a reward  for the first class service she provided looking after all our needs whatever they were...we will definitely be back again in the future

Excellent Easter meal

Great food and good value this along w/ the excellent service we always receive from Angela means we just cannot stay away. This is a fab place to come for a bite to eat in nice surroundings and a lovely location. We will definately be returning soon.

Great service all around

Had lunch in the bar. Was a great chilled vibe and fire was lit to keep us ( including the dog ) warm after a walk in the rain.
We all had fish and chips. Good crispy fish and decent size.
Had the pudding and hot drink offer and the cheesecake was delicious.
Will be returning this Easter Sunday.

Chilled vibe great food

What a lovely meal we had, poppy was very attentive and helped make us feel welcome.

I highly recommend the steak sandwiche with gravy and chips. Lovely steak and rich gravy.

The service was on point, table spotless. Presentation fab.

Lovely food, great service

Room is average but been down for food, decent to be fair. Good service from Paige. Just filling up the comment box to make it 200 characters…nearly there not long now. Off Licence opposite the hotel. 


Good service 

We held our little boys christening party here on 10.09.23, from our initial enquiry right through to holding the party we cannot fault all the staff. We hired the Archway suite which is a lovely setting and a great space, it very comfortably held all our friends and family, with plenty of space for the kids to have fun in. 
The lady that served the bar was so friendly & approachable, nothing was too much trouble, and she had a smile for everyone. The buffet food was absolutely amazing & everyone commented on how nice it was, and such a good variety of options. The hot food was hot (a bit of rarity for buffets!) and they also provided sauces etc which was a blessing with lots of children there. 
When everyone had left, we just needed 10 minutes to cool down & reflect, and the lady who was serving was so kind, didn’t rush us at all & told us to stay as long as we wanted. 
I honestly cannot recommend Holmfield Arms enough, the staff are an absolute asset and the setting is beautiful. Thank you so much!

Christening party.

We were seated quickly but hadn't made our mind up what we wanted. So I think we were overlooked as we had to ask another waiter to take our order. I might add restaurant was extremly  busy. Our food when it arrived  was good.  Would recommend the rainbow salad. 

Good meal

Excellent one night stay in a quiet room in a very comfortable bed. Our room was very clean and looked recently refurbished. While the breakfast was nothing out of the ordinary, the evening meal was of a very good standard for pub chain food. All the staff were very helpful and responsive with special mention to the waiter (didn’t get his name unfortunately; he had a beard) who was so attentive and coped without any fuss with our special dietary requests at both dinner and breakfast.

Excellent value

Very poor food ! All had to have Sunday lunch as " a problem in the kitchen " so nothing else was available. Meat dry, vegetables hard, Yorkshire pudding soggy and tough, everyone's food was luke warm, would have complained at the time however the venue was chosen by another family member and we did not want to embarrass them.
Won't return.
