What a rip off. Paint has been touched up wrong colour. Found public hair in the bed. God knows who cleans it. Rachel the host doesn't give two monkeys full on rip off. These cottages just get used for dirty weekends and orgys. Flooring in bathroom coming up. Fuild stains on the wall. Dirty. Used condoms found in bathroom

Vile

Comfortable stay for a local wedding in the village. Beautiful view across to the church.  Easy walk down to Low Bradfield - bit of a climb back up but quite doable. Compact kitchen with all that was needed for a weekend. 

Family occassion

If there was an option for unbearable then it would be just that. 

Describing this place is very hard to picture or visualize, but let’s just say it felt as though I was living in another World. And that world being a nightmare of pure and utter rubbish.

Booking this place was a last resort and after issues with Rachel, which was where the issues begun, well I knew we were in for a very unbearable and difficult weekend in the middle of no where. On arrival finding rats running around the so called ‘car park’, which was basically another hazard and easier to smash into the wall and writing off the car, then a safe place to park my caravan. Walking in to find a ridiculously bad odor lingering around the very small and extremely basic ‘living room’ (more like somewhere I wouldn’t even keep my dogs let alone any human being). Moving onto the bedrooms with one single bed which my friend described as “mission impossible”, and by impossible he meant he suffered problems with sleep as he looked up to the ceiling thinking about why he even agreed to stay in this castle. On the other hand my partner and I had the luxury of a double bed. Which sadly turned out to be only a thought after finding multiple hairs and toe nails under the duvet covers.

And then finally the bathroom. All that needs to be said here guys is make sure you bring some deodorant or shower for a good few hours before coming to this place. Or accept the water giving you frostbite or 3rd degree burns. There’s no in between. The choice is yours, be smelly or end up in A&E.

Such a shame as the location is beautiful. Really hurts to see such a let down of a place for what could have been. Hopefully with a better host than Rachel in the future and also some much need refurbishment it will finally reach its true potential.

But for now do not fall for the trap of the pictures on website. Do not waste a single penny on this s*** show. God bless you all and I hope all of you read this and think twice before booking this extremely depressing place.

Inhuman. Absolute shambolic, disgusting and very feral experience.

beds were extremely comfortable, though there was no storage at all. Fridge was small, and the floor boards were creaky. Was nice and clean, there was 6 of us and we managed. One tiny set of toiletries provided, soap was provided too. No sanitary products though? Cookies were also left along with tea, coffee and sugar. all in all, decent holiday in a small town. These floor boards might drive me mad though!

Decent get away

Booked in July for 4 days in December, due to lock down there was no travel allowed due to tiers, emailed and contacted via email and booking.com and facebook, all ignored. When calling they hung up everytime, not because of signal but pressed 'send to voicemail' 

We have had a few bookings with other companys who was lovely and helped re arrange the dates, or cancel with them. But foxholes was a no no to even contacted people back. 

Our booking did not take place and we couldnt get through to them to get a refund on the booking. I wouldnt recommend booking.

Hangs up the phone... wouldnt reccomend.

Don't book with these people . They confirmed our booking at 11 am yesterday and then cancelled at 12.30...a booking we had made and paid for in full the day before.gave a lame excuse but it was obvious they had received better offer. Can't get our money refunded for 10 days so we now have to make  s seven hour return day  trip to see our first grandson. Lockdown has made some people kinder but not everyone.

Money is all

Spent a couple of days in Low Bradfield visiting family, a party of two families (4 adults & 4 children) and took two cottages: a ground floor 2 bedroom cottage (1 double & 2 singles) with lovely patio doors and a 1st floor 2 bedroom cottages (1 double and 1 single) and a sleeper couch. 

The cottages were clean and comfortable with good heating since we went in winter. They were fully stocked with all one needs when one is away from home, including teas, coffees, milk and complimentary biscuits, shower gel, towels and even dishwashing liquid! There is free WiFi and TV with enough channels to keep the kids happy. The nice thing about Foxholes is that it is walking distance to a nearby pub The plough and a cafe The schoolrooms - both of which serve really great food. Would highly recommend Foxholes. 


Lovely self-catering cottages in Low Bradfield

If in the room sleeps 3 two of you are literally on the floor..... furnishings in couple of the rooms are poor and dilapidated.... sofas tatty etc

Pre wedding communication confrontational and bordering on rude. Things asked for didn’t happen
Although on the day the team were brilliant! 

Charged for repairs with no proof they were done during our time there and repaired before even contacted about the damage. 

Ran out of beer which was part of what paid for

Paid a substantial amount for a great view and sentimental reasons but if could have changed then would have.... made the run up to the wedding very stressful

Thankfully what u make it

We were a party of five, fishing at Ladybower for a couple of days mid-week and were recommended to stay in the Bradfield area, to experience the local beer, food and hospitality. We booked two rooms at Foxholes.

The accommodation was clean, spacious and well furnished. We could have accommodated more people in our two rooms as we had spare beds and sofas that converted into beds as well. Towels and bedding were clean and fresh. The cottages are well located, with lovely views across the valley and reservoirs. The main village was approx 10 minutes walk downhill where we found the village shop and a pub, The Plough, which we used each evening.

The only minor gripes were that no toiletries were provided and the kitchen utensils were very sparse. We borrowed a sharp knife from the other cottage. That said, we had a great time for a very reasonable price and would have no hesitation in recommending Foxholes and we plan to visit again

Practical accommodation for a few days

Good laidback cottage. Vast area.nice yards.the pass was very scenic.the drive was pleasant. Loved the place much. Very serene. A good holiday place.Only downside is you should get your groceries beforehand. The best last stop is the pump station(Caltex) before turning into the road leading to Snake Pass towards Foxhole Farm. 
Only concern about the bathroom. Some water leaked out from the floor(upstairs) to the below of the house onto the stairs carpet.
