I had the pleasure of staying 10 nights - the staff were amazing - special callout to Rajesh, Annabelle and Max who made me feel at home and catered for my dietary requirements with ease.  The room ´Jack of Newbury’ was delightful and there were lots of little luxuries like the complimentary sloe gin.
Would definitely stay here again.

Great stay, really fabulous staff

We booked this hotel on a whim as we didn’t want the long drive back home from London. And what an amazing find. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with such a warm and friendly welcome. The staff really do go above and beyond. The hotel is stunning, our room was clean and extremely comfortable. With lovely little touches for added luxury. 

We were recommended plenty of places for dinner but we are so happy we decided to eat at the hotels restaurant. The food was outstanding, I had the Beef Rendang and my partner had Belly Pork, both meals were delicious and I would visit again just for these meals. Again the staff were attentive and friendly. 

After a long and busy day it was refreshing to have such a comfortable room with no disturbances from any type of noise. 

Breakfast was included and the same as the evening dinner, lots of options and delicious. 

We will definitely visit again. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

I love the Hare and Hounds at Newbury. I am a regular visitor for business and over the last 18 months I have loved every stay. The staff are wonderful, friendly, engaging and caring. The rooms are all superb (I think I’ve stayed in them all- the suite is the best, but the king rooms in the stable are my faves) the attention to detail really goes a long way- lll rooms are individually decorated - a complimentary sloe gin, huge bottles of sparkling water , a nespresso machine and bramley toiletries are such a treat. 
The food is always great as is the wine and cocktails. ! My fave is always the cabbage and cauliflower cheese- sounds basic- it really isn’t! 
I always feel safe and welcome here as a solo female guest. Special mention to sylwia and mark for servicing of the rooms. They’re always immaculate.

My second home from time to time

We had a Deluxe room which was lovely, well designed, warm and spotless. Pretty pheasant themed wallpaper and a super comfy bed. A fabulous shower room with high quality products. The Nespresso machine, sloe gin and water in glass bottles as well as mini glass bottles of milk from reception were nice additional touches.

Surprisingly delightful: gorgeous room, cosy bar, delicious breakfast, friendly staff.

We stayed at the Hare & Hounds  the evening before visiting Highclere House. It was a fantastic choice! Everything; including the room, food and staff were excellent! We had a very relaxed dinner in the restaurant. The Monkfish was outstanding. The following morning  breakfast was also 1sr class. We also benefited from a New Year offer which meant the overall cost of our stay was great value.

A lovely overnight stay!

We have stayed at the H & H several times and it just gets better and better.Food & drink is excellent, rooms beautifully appointed and always a lovely warm and inviting atmosphere.Rajesh & his team are simply the best!

Superb!

This was such a stunning property. The room, bar, resturant were all so lovely. Especially so close to Christmas with all the Christmas trees! Tea and coffee in the room, a free bit of gin too. The staff in the resturant were beyond lovely and the food was Devine. As was the breakfast that was included. Stunning. I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough. I won’t lie, I was slightly kept awake by the people in the room above walking around until the late hours of the night and I could hear them talking however everything else was so perfect so I can’t complain. Oh and the parking was free and easy!! Plenty of spaces. 10/10 recommend and can’t wait to return.
