Pity! the place didn't warn that it was closing and neither did Budgetplaces. they actually sent the booking confirmation for 31/12 when the place was now closed from 14/12. shame!!! i will ask for the refund of the booking fee!

Facility closed since 14/12/16 without notice

They emailed me to say my card had been declined and could I make a bank transfer. Followed their instructions as I wanted my booking sorted as I was flying out of the country that morning. They promised to email a confirmation. No response after 3 emails over 2 weeks. Booking.com were unable to get in touch. I finally managed to get in touch and they said to send a screenshot of the bank transfer and that would be fine. On the DAY of my booking I get a notice to say my booking is cancelled. I am in the process of trying to get my money back, but I doubt it will happen as they seem to have removed their property from booking.com's website. Please save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

Stole my money and cancelled my booking

Reception completely absent. I asked kindly for advice on how to get from Stansted Airport to the Cottage. The only answer was that I would have to get to Stratford Station (obviously) and that I would have to walk 7 minutes (when I walk from the station it is more than 1km, although for half a minute I was walking through a large hotline and hotline). The reception desk in this cottage was bad from the beginning: I had not found a home, so I had not even seen 2 rooms, so I had to meet 2 days later, and I had to call the station, so I did not receive a response.

I was thinking much better... never again!

I booked a double room two weeks before my arrival.  When I arrived the guy told me it was a problem in the room I booked so I couldn't stay there. They didn't offered me another solución. They were extremelly rude when I called the office to complaint. They didn't tell me my room was not available anymore  till the moment I arrived there, leaving me with literally nowhere to stay.
Avoid, not worth even for the price.

Terrible

We arrived here at 3pm and buzzed for access. I was left standing in the sold for quite a few minutes trying to get them to find my booking. After several minutes of trying to give my name over the phone they finally found it and I was advised I could only check in if I paid cash (the booking said explicitly 'no cash') as there was a 'problem' with their machine. I was literally left on the curb feeling like some type of criminal for trying to check in.

Our room, booked with a baby, was on the third floor up several flights of narrow stairs; which looked quite unclean.

We didn't have cash and to check in after going to get some would have been more trouble than the place was worth given they had not even let us in to check in.

Given the literally icy reception, suspicious sounding dealings with cash and general lack of cleanliness we decided to check in elsewhere.

Left standing in the street, no lift, no credit card facilities

The area where this place is is not very nice, I dont know how it can be placed with hotels. Its only a house with rooms and lots of mirrors. We didnt feel safe, so we checked out after an hour! I would not recommend it for visitors to London.  Bathrooms are separate for all rooms, you share with everyone else.

I admit that I didn't realize that the structure had only shared bathrooms. Clean sheets. Unclean bathroom.

Absolutely not recommended

Booked for a weekend in London. 
We had used Cottage 76 on a previous trip.
Stratford is outside London and a busy thriving area. 
Like everywhere in London it is upgrading and there is always  
building work going on.

so .. back to Cottage 76. Stayed there before. 
Very much a working hotel. 
Budget. 
Clean and pleasant. 
Staff are welcoming. 
Tea Facilities etc in the room. 
Also Sky and Wifi.

Shared Shower and Toiet or Bath and toilet. Clean.

Comfortable bed. Bit small for us, but we are on the larger side. 
Having said that we slept like logs.

Not the Ritz. But a lovely hotel just the same.

Another stay at the Corrage

At such a low price, you can't expect much. But cleanliness is the least I can expect. It's no longer a hotel, it's a converted private house. 8 rooms, 1 community bath. Our room looked superficially clean. But if you look behind the beds, you find dirt and dirt. (In our case, chips and used handkerchiefs) The bathroom had a (for me) disgusting floor, the shower and bathroom were dirty. The tiles were broken, for example. On our last day we were explicitly asked to give an excellent rating.

Cleanliness not given!

The room is wide, with cable TV, wifi, comfortable bed and desk, yet our window was broken, letting in a little air, which in the winter of London is complicated. But the heater realized... the bathroom has stopped wanting, it can be a little cleaner, so the grade is reasonable. The location is excellent, close to Stratford station and the surroundings have those typical English houses. Even the hotel is typically English. After 8:00 you have to call a number in front of the door to check in, because the attendants are in another hotel. We saw there is the staff, who have no reception. We saw them only in the room cleaning, which is immeasurably at 11:00.
