We stayed on 18th March for one evening and the apartment itself was clean, stunning view and very spacious. The only downside was the WIFI didn't seem to work. The staff at reception were excellent and I spoke to Alfonso prior to our arrival who provided me with all the help and information I needed.

As regards the review below, I too couldn't use the email or contact number but the apartments have changed owners and hence the confusion. If you check the hotel.com website the new contact information is on there if anyone else has a booking in future and worried if this scenario occurs. Contact them by mobile and they will help you.

Would definitely use these apartments again. 

18th March Stay

I have a similar issue to the review below. Got an email asking me to fill out a form and the link to the form wasn’t working. Tried emailing and the email wasn’t sent and then tried to call and the number is not in use. 
My stay is upcoming and I paid directly through the site so I am unable to contact anyone about cancellation. Hopefully they see this review and reactivate their site.

Tel no listed doesn't work !   Sent several emails with no response !  Very, very disappointed 😞 Was so looking forward to February stay with my daughter but having received an email asking foe money, I had some questions I wanted clarified.  Upon calling the listed tel number I discovered it was a 'dud' number, sent several emails with no response.  Was forced to cancel our much needed break....appalling contact service or lack of !!!!  My advice, try the number and email out ?!!!!

Phone and email contact are duds - don't work !!!

Our first stay was good, this one - not so much! 
Smelly en-suite. No lock on bathroom door. Toilet made a horrendous noise when flushed. Both showers made a horrendous noise when used. Could only use 1 shower at a time.  Bedroom door wouldn’t shut properly. No shelves, hooks etc to hang our towels. They claimed to be a “fully furnished, well equipped” “with a welcome pack of tea,coffee & milk “. We had no milk, no bottle opener , no dishwasher tablets, no washing power, no dish cloth or towel, on a cold Saturday afternoon we came back to no power & no heating, and the spare quilt & pillows - which had no cases or covers, were full of stains & absolutely disgusting, along with the old, stained hardened towel that fell out of the quilt! I really wished I had taken photos!!

Extremely disappointing

Booked here for a 2 night stay. Was apprehensive as communications were not good before visit. However, on arrival, after calling the number provided on the office window (office empty at 3pm), the representative arrived promptly, and gave us the keys and directions. 
On entering the property we were very impressed with the size and cleanliness. The Wi-Fi was excellent, and we had a great stay. It had 2 bathrooms, and plenty of space. 
Location was great, right by the bay, and a great cheap bus service just 2 mins walk away. 
Overall we were pleased with the stay, and I would consider staying there again on a future visit to Edinburgh.


Short Visit to Edinburgh

My Partner, me and my six month old baby stayed here on Saturday night. We where absolutely disgusted at the state of the apartment, as we dig deeper we realised what a health and safety mess it was. All of the doors had paper wedged in them because the handles didn’t work, meaning that if the paper fell out of the door where it was wedged that the door would be shut with no way out, this was the case with all doors in the apartment, if our six month old baby had been trapped on a room I’m not sure what we would have done. Imagine if there was a fire. The rooms where filth, the walls have black marks all over. The toiler flusher also didn’t work and has been made of a plastic hsbc key fob.would not compensate or refund, we never slept because of the thought of becoming trapped, one slight bit of wind and the doors could slam shut leaving us unable to get to our baby. They also go under the name Brittania apartments on booking.com which I believe is the name they use to rent out the bad appartments, all communication came from grand harbour and that’s where we stayed.

Immediate danger to life / health and safety

The good - customer service as we were contacted to find out if our arrival would be after 5pm and details of key collection were emailed. Location is fabulous, on the waterfront, good restaurants and supermarket nearby. Views from apartment were amazing although weather was bad we couldn’t see far. Free parking. The bad - apartment is tired, electric radiators did not work so additional fan heaters/convectors were provided, curtains were cheap and ill fitting, why no curtains in the lounge? Biggest issue was WiFi stopped working on 1st morning, reported it immediately but of course wasn’t fixed so kids were very upset with no connection and we had planned a FaceTime call with family which couldn’t take place. Okay - nice towels and soap but no hand sanitiser provided. Manuals for white goods would have been useful and ice cooler didn’t work which we only found after flooding kitchen by pouring water into freezer. Good value for money.

The good, the bad and the okay

The property had been badly treated by past visitors. A few of the heaters were not working, and there was no where to hang towels. In general it could have done with some maintenance. But it was clean and tidy and quiet. And the staff did their best to put things right.

The apartment dirty disappointing indeed and did not follow covid19 tourism guidelines for rental accommodation the following was found on arrival 
Due to health and safety issues with the apartment we left the apartment and immediately sanitized our hands and returned to reception to raise our concerns as it turned out they were not interested so we asked for a refund and went looking for alternative accommodation which we found in the Premier Inn nearby suggest you check out the apartment’s before staying in them  
•	No covid19 guidelines on entering the block 10 
•	On entering the apartment every switch and socket was covered in dirty finger prints
•	Every door and kitchen doors were dirty and covered in dirty finger prints 
•	Skirting, window sills, radiators were also dirty 
•	Oven was filthy and could not be used 
•	Dirty water was found at the bottom of the glasses
•	No hand sanitizer
•	PAT testing of portal electrical  equipment was 3 years out of date
•	No Legionnaires test certificate 
•	No evacuation procedures visible in case emergency

Grand Harbour Apartments health and safety issues

We arrived early at about 2pm and went to reception to ask where to park.  She said that the apartment was ready if we wanted to check in - which we did.  As we were booked into the Royal Yacht at 3.30, we dumped our bags and left.  When we arrived back, we noticed that the apartment was absolutely filthy (and considering covid it should have been spotless!) with many issues - listed below -
Main bathroom - no toilet roll, no shower screen or curtain so couldn't use the shower, no hooks for damp towels, light bulb blown. En-suite bedroom - toenail in shower room, no bedside lamps, scuff marks and ripped wallpaper up the walls. 2nd bedroom - no bedside lamps, lightbulbs blown, scuff marks up the walls, 3 coat hangers. Kitchen/Lounge/Diner - historic food up the walls and on the ceiling, food under the tv unit, no coffee table or anywhere to place a drink, burn holes in the sofa and dirty, broken glass top to dining table, rip in one dining chair, 1 tumbler glass, 3 wine glasses, 3 dirty mugs, 3 forks, 1 cereal bowl, dirty and rusty microwave, no tea towels, broken cupboard drawer under the sink, bird excrement on the balcony rail, grubby hand marks all up the patio door.  The whole place was filthy and NO covid 19 guidance followed at all.  Plus other issues I may have forgotten.  We tried to call the emergency number to complain, but it was unobtainable!  We complained the following morning and the receptionist gave us an email address to complain to - CustomerSupport@s1group.co.uk - and said she would send the cleaners in.  We emailed asking them to contact us immediately to rectify the situation.  When we arrived back, someone had been in, but no evidence of cleaning had taken place.  We had a different microwave, a few extra glasses, an additional mug, but still only 3 forks between 4 of us!!  Customer support did not get back to us and we emailed again just before check out.  We received an automated response saying that someone would be in touch within 7 working days - pointless!  On my return home, I emailed again saying that I was not happy waiting 7 days and please respond sooner.  Still no reply.  On day 6 I emailed again saying I was disappointed not to have received a response but as tomorrow was day 7 I was looking forward to hearing from them.  Nothing received on day 6 or day 7.  I have been very patient, but to be completely ignored is appalling.   This was the final leg of an 8 day trip (with all other accommodation being top notch and cheaper) and what should have been the best part, ended up being the worst.  We stayed in apartment 27 block 8 and although we are not fussy, we do expect the basics for £162 per night!
