We stayed here for a night as we were going to a wedding in nearby Ladybank.

Gillie, the owner, very kindly allowed us to check in at 2pm in order to attend the wedding at 3pm.

A beautiful setting with lovely gardens. Very clean inside and out, very well maintained with lovely decor.

The bed was comfortable as were the pillows.

There was free wifi available together with a kettle in the room with complimentary coffee, tea and milk and snack biscuits.

The bathroom was lovely and very clean.

The breakfast order was taken the evening before and was served in a communal kitchen with lovely views of the gardens.

Cereals, fresh fruit and a choice of yoghurts were available but I went for the cooked breakfast which was very nicely cooked, with a lovely cup of tea.

Checking in and out was simple, and Gillie very kindly dropped us off in Ladybank as I had left my car there the previous night.

Gillie was the best host ever and such a nice person and clearly takes a lot of pride in her wonderful place.

Would definitely stay again if we ever need to stay overnight in Fife again.

Had a wonderful overnight stay here for our first anniversary. Was so welcoming.....cosy and spotless 🙂
Host, Gillie was more than attentive....she made a delicious breakfast too which included a full English , and the option of fresh fruit and cereals , accompanied by toast , all in all we had a fabulous stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again .

Relaxing 😎

Excellent stay, in a spotlessly clean and comfortable room. Had the best nights' sleep in quiet and tranquil surroundings. Breakfast was delicious and of a high quality. The host was very warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend and will be returning.

What a wee gem of a place.The cottage and surrounding gardens were immaculate.breakfast was outstanding and Gillie was the perfect host.Would thoroughly recommend.Brodie the dog was beautiful and very well behaved.

A wee hidden gem

We stayed here for two nights in a room with twin beds and en-suite bathroom.  Plugged the postcode in the car Satnav and it worked perfectly taking us directly to this wonderful place.

The owner, Gillie; was there bang on just as we had arrived and she showed us to the room and the property in general.  Beautifully clean inside and out with a gorgeous garden area all around and off road parking for maybe three or four cars.  All very well maintained with lovely decor.  The bed was comfortable as were the pillows. The windows could be opened, the internet wifi worked, there was kettle in the room with complimentary coffee, tea and milk and snack biscuits.  Plenty plug points and lighting.  The bathroom was immaculately clean and the bath/shower had a slip prevention mat which had clearly been cleaned.  There was shampoo/shower foam in the bath and hand wash by the sink.

The breakfast order was taken the evening before but could be changed if you wanted.  Lovely setting again.....big kitchen area with nice table, chairs and crockery.  Cereals, fresh fruit and a choice of yoghurts.  Toast/bread, coffee or tea, sausages, bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, black pudding and however you want your eggs.  And, it was very well cooked......nothing overdone or whatever!  Very tasty and in terms of quantity......actually more than enough!

Checking in and out was simple, adequate security, beautiful, rural location and yet not too far to walk in Pitlessie or by car into Cupar.  Falkland Palace is only about 15 minute drive and maybe even less.

Gillie was the perfect host, amiable, amenable and has clearly put a lot of effort into producing such a wonderful place.

Would we stay again?  You bet we would.  Beats staying at the usual chain hotels any day and furthermore we thought that Cantrip Cottage was superior to most other small guesthouses or B&Bs that we've ever stayed in.    

    

Really Lovely - a gem

With a hostess who goes out of her way to accommodate your every need. With immaculately presented accommodation, I almost prefer to keep it all to myself. A wonderful setting and pleasantly quiet. Delightful entertainment from the wild bird’s feeding in the garden whilst you have breakfast

Fantastic place

We enjoyed a fabulous 2 night stay with Gillie at Cantrip Cottage. Gillie is a caring host with a high standard property. Pre-arrival communication was exceptional (Gillie had a commitment that meant she may not be around at the time of our arrival so she took great care to make sure (a) we knew and (b) we would be met by her cousin). The property is set back from a main road along a track so was very quiet and peaceful. She recommended a local pub/restaurant for an evening meal which was excellent. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. Gillie prepared and served superb cooked breakfasts to order in a purpose built kitchen/diner where we were able to socialise with Gillie and other guests. The property is ideally located for exploring the Kingdom of Fife but don’t expect excitement. It is a peaceful and restful location that is distant from other properties.

Superb B&B

A very pleasant property overseen by an exceptional host who has high standards. The property is reached via a unpaved road and is set back from the main road. Plenty of wild birds visit the garden. Ideal base for exploring Fife as it is central. Nothing is too much trouble for Gillie who is delightful company.

A little gem.

Cantrip cottage was absolutely lovely, set in lovely countryside with a gorgeous garden to enjoy a quiet drink in the evening. Gillie, our host, made every effort to ensure that we had a lovely stay. Our room was welcoming, clean and well stocked, only lacking a little storage which did not detract from the experience at all.  We loved the fact that guests sit together for breakfast, we were able to chat and get recommendations. If you like excitement and bars, this is not the place for you but for us, and anyone really wanting to enjoy the splendor that  is Scotland it could not have been more ideal.

A peaceful idyll

Stayed in early June. Our host, was so welcoming and helpful. 
The cottage is isolated, so dont expect an exciting night life. But, if you want a lovely cottage, in a central location with fife best attractions not far away. I would recommend this cottage.   
Loved watching sunsets from the garden.
