Just a lovely park. Quiet. Great for 50 plus year people who want to relax.

Small friendly clubhouse but in a lovely small town/village that has nice pubs and place to go.

My caravan was really clean. I mean spotless. Parking was great for an accessible caravan. My girlfriend is disabled and elsewhere we've had to put the chair on the grass. Here the driveway and ramp up to the caravan was great.

Even the shower drain in the wet room worked like new. At some hotels I've had to ask for a mop! And elsewhere with wet rooms you often get a wet floor. Here they must check everything before a new holiday.

Just a really nice place for older people or couples with young children who want a nice get away.

Small shop that is also the check in office is easy to park outside and has enough in there to fill your caravan with nice food and magazines etc

Booked a superior caravan, which costs more than the standard, arrived to the site and greeted by a caravan with filthy stained carpets, a dirty cooker and a dirty stained sofa, that I didn’t feel comfortable sitting on, let alone make myself comfy on and watch tv. And I also have a 5 month old baby which wasn’t suitable at all!! Dirty bathroom and a spider stuck into the blinds clearly not been cleaned, I could have done a better job myself. Also stunk of dog - how lovely. I did complain whilst there, but they couldn’t move us somewhere else, they just covered the sofa with sheets. Will not stay again, it’s a good job I have a nice family who made my stay enjoyable!!

Dirty caravan, false advertisement

Had a lovely few days staying in one of the luxury caravans.
Very well equipped with utensils & crockery.
Good size TV, and heating worked very well as it was quite cold during our stay. The site is by the sea and we went for long walks along the shore, very bracing!! Drove to West Mersea and caught the bus from there into Colchester which was much easier than having to find & pay parking. 
The staff on arrival were extremely helpful in finding an upgrade for us into a luxury caravan from a superior which gave us a bit more space. We are looking forward to returning in a couple of months for a weeks R&R.

Great place for a relaxing break.

The caravan park is in a lovely location. Very quiet. Superior caravan was more basic than expected. It was generally clean but maintenance was generally poor. Could have been great with attention to detail. Enjoyed the swimming pool although environment was stifling hot. Loved the dog exercise field which was clean. Bought essentials from the shop.

Great place to stay very relaxing and plenty to do in the local area plenty of restaurants & pubs caravan was spotless and everything we needed lovely deck area to relax on , the beer in the muddy duck was very good and staff friendly and helpful

A very clean, comfortable and spacious caravan, well equipped. The site was quiet, the shop was reasonably well stocked, pool and bar area clean and staff friendly

Lovely stay at Mersea Island Caravan Park

Lovely clean and tidy property. Would definately recommend.

We booked an 8 berth superior mobile home.  It was okay.  Close to main entrance.  No front deck but a side deck with a table and chairs to seat 4 people.  It was clean and tidy with fresh linen although the smell of damp dog was very strong!  Everything in good working order but one of the windows didn't fit the space properly and was letting cold air in.  A good site with everything obviously well maintained and cared for.  We arrived at 6pm and the reception was closed.  We followed the out of hours instructions as per the notice on the door but no-one answered the phone or returned our call until the next day! Thankfully we found an email from hotels.com with a code to access our key, otherwise we would have been stranded.  Google says site is open until 7pm but no-one available to help at 6pm, so just be aware.

This was a great place to stay. Staff was super helpful and the place was nice.

The property is advertised as being much better and allows you to choee your room options. We picked a big spacious 8 berth with a bath and a on suite. On arrive it was a very small cramped 3 bed, no bath just a tiny shower room which was not ideal with a 1 year old and a 2 year old. One of the bedrooms you could not open the wardrobe as the bed was against it. The master bedroom was very small thag the bed was bacially touching either wall so no space for a cot.We did complain to guest services and they seen to be aware that stays are being advertised for better than they are. They offered us another 3 bedroom that did have a bath but everything else was worse.We also used the cooker to try to make a shop brought pizza, 2 hours later pizza was cooked on top but soft dough on the bottom.The park itself seemed maintained and very quite which is ideal if your not looking to using facilities that other places offer like clubhouse ect
