Had previously eaten at the bar some 6 months ago and re visited tonight. 1.6.23.

Called in for a meal. Was quite busy with 13 mins wait for food. Ordered meal which half arrived. 

Waiter apologised and brought other half of meal when finished main meal.

As the saying goes you get what you pay for!!



Poor service and food

First time trying a Wetherspoon hotel, was surprised at the quality of the room. The decor was nice and the bed was comfy. Surprisingly good sound insulation as well. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only gripe is the wifi, a potato with a fork in it would serve as a better router than what spoons’ offer 

Great value for money

We have been very impressed by the value for money here! The room, pub and facilities are all spotlessly clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is exceptionally fast. Is it 100% perfect? Probably not but for the price to pay it's extremely close!

Clean & Friendly!

Very comfortable stay on Sunday 4th September. 
Room had plenty of amenities including complimentary drinks and biscuits. Huge shower cubicle in a modern bathroom. 
For dinner I enjoyed a pizza with very good cress on top.
Would easily recommend 

Very comfortable stay with parking close by

Firstly, on arrival at the hotel I wasn’t able to check in because they wouldn’t accept cash. They insisted that this policy was on the Booking.com website, but having checked thoroughly I can’t see this on there at all. I ended up having to get a friend to use their card and give them the cash in return. There are no disabled facilities available, and so I had to manage several staircase to my room on the top floor. The room itself was fine although it would benefit from having a shelf in the shower for your shampoo etc. On waking up early I went down to get a coffee and use the beer garden to smoke I was informed that they weren’t open until 0700 hrs and so I wasn’t allowed to be in the bar or get a coffee. I have never been in a hotel before that was closed to hotel guests! Although there is a phone in the room you are unable to call and book food from it, you have to go all the way downstairs, order, wait and then bring it up yourself. Difficult when you have to use sticks to walk. All in all it’s not a place I would choose to stay again as there are just too many small things that make you feel like an unwelcome distraction to the staff rather than a guest. Rather than being helpful, it seems like everything is too much trouble for them. If all you want is a room for a night after a drink it’s ok, but I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying the 3 nights I was here for again. Sorry Wetherspoons, if you are going to have hotels you need to train your staff better in customer service and review your policies for the benefit of your guests. Until then I won’t be staying here again.

Won’t stay here again!

Hope the rooms are cleaner than the restaurant I walking in had to wipe my table was filthy had to leave you should be shut down. I have never in my life  felt the need to leave anywhere for being dirty your staff should hang your heads in shame disgusting

Dirty and  disgusting

Nice smooth check in process. Room was big and very well decorated.  Tea coffee. Still sparkling water and biscuits. Very nice indeed. Comfortable room. Good view.  Pub inside is very nice. Very clean and  tidy even the taps sparkled 😀. Good location. Just near memorial park. Nice place for a stroll.  We've stayed in a few spoons hotels and this is one of the best.   Added bonus lovely courtyard garden which they don't always have. Staff very pleasant. Thank you 

Lovely one night stopover

Went with the children for dinner. My daughter ordered steak, medium well, when it arrived there was blood on the plate. Once we could get someone’s attention we asked them to make it medium well, the waiter tutted and took it away. Moments later it arrived back charred on the outside but no less red inside. I had to then take it to the counter and ask for something else. The manager came over tapped on the till and walked away. No apology. Eventually my daughters food arrived, the rest of us had finished by this point. This was just after 8.30. At 8.45 a waitress came over and said “children need to be gone by 9pm”. So my daughter had to rush her dinner as she felt she shouldn’t be there. My burger was raw in the middle, again, they didn’t seem to care. I know life is difficult for everyone at the moment but this was awful. 

Awful food

I would give this place a wide berth if I was  you that is if you don't mind waiting in a queue for 30 minutes while they pick and choose who comes in you are ok if you know 1 of the staff worst Witherspoon's I have been to since the reopening got in 1 out of three nights not worth the hassle really good luck 

Manager less

Check in was quick and easy and we went up to our room.  Very nice. modern and clean, very well appointed.  The Wetherspoons downstairs was pretty standard, busy at times but never overly so.  We ate dinner and breakfast there as well, both were good as expected.  A well priced hotel, we will return of back in town.
