The Ella Cave Hotel provided a warm and friendly vibe, and a comfortable place from which to explore Goreme and Cappadocia. We were first-time visitors to Turkey and loved the authentic experience of staying in a hotel carved out of rock. The owner, Ruth Lockwood and her cheerful  team of Neesha and Ahmet happily organised tours and transit; and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Ruth’s other business, Tribal Collections was also well worth a visit after we read about it the Lonely Planet guide to Turkey. Here we found a range of interesting rugs produced by local women. Ruth’s knowledge of rug-making and what to look for is encyclopaedic.

Comfortable and Friendly

A classic Capaddocia cave hotel - exactly what you want when visiting this extraordinary area. It is quiet and relaxing, but only a short and cheap taxi ride from the Goreme mayhem.  
The decor is stylish yet cosy. And, yes, it is very clean. 
Our hostess Ruth was lovely and full of great ideas on what to do in the area, and Necla's breakfasts were a treat. Staying here was a highlight of our Turkey trip.

Nehisda is a great hostess. She cares about the comfort of her guests and the breakfast is different. At any time you have free coffee, the bathroom is spacious and the bed is large. In addition, walking is easy to get to the center. You have Wi-Fi in your room and another on the terrace, so it makes the connection faster.I will return when I return to Cappadocia.

A friendly stay.

My best friend and I both stayed at the Elaa cave hotel for two nights and had the BEST time ever. The manager is SO sweet. She helped accommodate anything and everything that we needed, from providing food when we first entered and sat on the beautiful terrace to helping arrange for a taxi when we were running late to the airport and couldn’t find one. She also provided extra water bottlers and was in touch with us 24/7 for anything that we needed or came up. She is the sweetest person and our stay at the cave hotel was amazing. The room is actually pretty warm/good temperature (which is exactly what we needed as we heard cave hotels can get cold!). We both highly recommend everyone to stay here! The taxi driver was super kind as well.

The stay in this wonderful hotel has been made special by Neja, a very kind host. Her welcome is warm as never before. Hotel neat and clean, excellent location, about 15 minutes from every attraction in Cappadocia. Good breakfast, Neja cakes are delicious. Parking is available in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Good quality price ratio!

Great hotel and special reception.

Had a lovely 3 night stay here. Extremely friendly team and very clean. Our room was beautiful and a great experience, would definitely recommend staying here and just a few minutes walk to the square with a variety of restaurants and shops.

First time in a cave hotel in Cappadocia

stayed for 3 nights, when we arrived around 6 pm, there were some hiccups, but the lady eventually found my reservation and told me, my room is on another street,( they now have 2 buildings) and I will need to walk 5 minutes to the main building for breakfast. which is fine. however, when she show me the room, it was very dusty and had a damp mold smell, one of the beds doesn't even have bed sheet on. That is no AC, so I requested a fan to keep the fresh air. I understand most of the cave room has dust and dampness problem but after I saw the room next to mine, the room was ready-made and cleaned, I then realized the hotel wasn't aware of my reservation for today. it's a beautiful hotel, but short-staffed. breakfast is ok, it's kind of messy because they aren't enough tables. nice people, but I won't return again

I stayed in suite 99 in the units across the little road from breakfast and reception. If you are ok with steps up a few terraces the flat is gorgeous. Impeccably decorated with a collection of Ottoman antiques, incredible carpets and gorgeous textile artwork. The are multiple day beds to curl up to read a book, large windows in both rooms and a wonderful large bed with fresh linens and excellent pillows. An ensuite tea service and an upstairs private terrace and bathroom with large shower and plenty of clean towels. Besides the beauty of the rooms the great joy is the view into the central village of old Ortahisar. Epic. 

I’m happy I could easily negotiate the metal spiral staircase that leads to the upstairs bathroom and private terrace. If a person has mobility issues I know there are more suitable and equally beautiful suites on the property.
