Stayed here for three nights booked for four 
But still got charged for four,
Staff very good and breakfast was very good 
Room was ok but dated and only got cleaned on first day 
Very poor service 
But good location,no bar or restaurant in hotel

The room I was given was very traditional and had an "Ottoman" style to it.It was much larger than many of the rooms I have had.The bathroom was however a little small but fully functional. The manager was a very decent chap and helped us with information. All in all a good value stay.

Atmospheric Ottoman Room

If you go to Safranbolu, you might want to make sure to get to know the comfort of one of the traditional houses. To me, Bastoncu Konak is the place to be.

I got picked up from the bus station by Ali, who made my (short) stay as nice as it could be. The house and its rooms are amazing, with built-in closets (from hundreds of years ago), very comfortable rooms and beds. The location is perfect - right in the center of old town. 

It is very clean, the breakfast is great and I would surely stay here again.

Beautiful traditional house with great service

The owner ,Ali , is a funny , friendly , helpful guy ! Although the bathroom in his pension is rather small but everything else is wonderful ! We stayed in this hotel for 4 days . The hotel is in the a very convenience location . You can easily walk to the old town area and the most famous Turkish bathhouse ! The pension is an over 300- year-old Ottoman house . We really enjoyed it !

Excellent

The hotel is located in the historic area of Safranbolu, the room is very clean and characteristic. It looks like a fairy tale room, with dolls: everything is fragile, everything is wooden. The ceiling is magnificent. An unforgettable experience. Breakfast is very good. The people of the village are delicious. The owner and his family are very kind. Everything is perfect!

An Unforgettable Experience of Sleeping in an Ottoman House

We had a great experience in this Pension, which is a real 350 year old Ottoman mansion. Our room was great, furnished with traditional pieces. The hosts were very kind and helpful, giving good tips on where to go and sight see. The breakfasts included in the morning were traditional Turkish style and very filling. The host picked us up from the bus station in Karabuk, where most bus companies will drop you off. We have absolutely no complaints.

Beautiful building in a beautiful setting

We were guests at Bastoncu for only one night. The guy at the reception was friendly and very helpful in providing us with suggestions on things to see. Also, he provided us with a superior room instead of the standard we had booked because we were the only guests. Same price. Delicious, clean room, with the traditional Ottoman bathroom in the closet...ok, small and maybe not functional, but when you recap it!!!! Simple but enough breakfast, in Turkish style, mostly salty. Great experience. Recommended!

It was a positive experience.

It's an incredibly authentic, old Ottoman wooden house. Lovely restored and affordable. Family business with (simple) breakfast.
