Was happy to be here! good staff, helpful, bed and tea and yes on top of all these; the location is at centre of Sultanahmet! a hub for most tourist from where you begin you journey to most places around.

Good location to stay and yes! under budget

Spent two nights and loved this place. The staff is cool and relaxed and the premises are definitely clean. For a very good price the location is also close to the centre and to a a beautiful park (especially in summertime).

Good vibes, good and location and very clean!

I was booked to stay here 2 separate nights in the first week of April 2016.  The first night, they were still open.  The second night, they were closed indefinitely for renovation and all the mattresses were lying in a pile on the street.  I'm not sure when they are scheduled to reopen.

Maybe a bit expensive for what you get, but not bad as low budget backpacker hostels go. 
Staff was friendly and helpful. View from the roof isn't too bad. Walking distance from everything you would want to see.

Pleasant

I have been here twice, once 7 years ago, and again a few months ago. I chose it for the great location, really hard to beat, breakfast is very good on the terrace with great views where is easy to make new friends for solo travelers. The building isn't new but I keep consodering Sinbad a good option for budget travelers.

Great location but not too good conditions

There's nothing to recommend here!!!!! It's just a dirt hole that came down!!! The hygiene leaves much to be desired, if you're lucky, you have a shower cabin. The legend says they have a terrace, but you can also believe in aliens at the same time, which is more likely. It's supposedly being renovated - - - We had booked breakfast and didn't get any. The only positive thing about this dirt hole is the location. The location is really central. But you can easily get to everything in Istanbul. Even if it's free, I wouldn't stay here again. So I'd rather pay a little more and feel comfortable about it.

This is the biggest bullshit ever!

The landlord was not there, but he arranged a meeting in the evening to pay for the ticket. He promised to book a taxi to the airport - it was quiet, there were no cars. The street was quiet and deserted!

It's a good hotel, but it's a very unreliable host.

It's in a good location, all the top attractions are within walking distance, the hostel itself is frankly simple, and needs a good refurbishment, we haven't tasted breakfast, we liked the fact that nobody was in the common room except us.

Staying close to the centre

This hotel is a good place for strangers because the hotel is well situated (5 minutes' walk from the Blue Mosque), the rooms are small and old but it's right for the price (35€ per night with private bathroom).

A small routard hotel

The reception is in a completely different place, in the Sinbad hostel. And the Sinbad hostel address is shown in the booking. That is, first you get to the Sinbad hostel, and then the hostel employee takes you to the Baklava hotel (walk 10 minutes along the narrow streets of Istanbul). For us this was the only downside, especially when you have luggage. They give you the key to the room and the key to the entrance door to the building, and you are provided and you will see the staff of the hotel only for breakfast. I liked this - it even appears to be an opportunity to feel like a new resident of Istanbul.
