It was run down, the pictures on website were of a different hotel that they had closed and the room I was given was leaking water from ceiling in bathroom. However, the staff were so nice and helpful, and that prevented me from moving to another hotel!

Nice little hotel very clean and friendly staff . Location is not off of a street but inside the walkways so was a little difficult to find at first .  They have a spa on site and had a wonderful massage

Great Value for Stone Town

As titled all good in this respect, however, hotel amenities were lacking.  Happy to have breakfast included, but there were no other food options during the day.  Location was buried within the alleyways and difficult to find, particularly as I was carrying my backpack and other gear.

Enjoyed A/C including fan and that the TV with BBC

First of all, service was great I was allowed to change room. But the hotel needs to deal with the mold problem that got me sick and ruined my Zanzibar weekend. The next day, the other staff was caretaking an apologized, but didn't offer my night for free, which I thought was weird.One hour after checking in, I got high fever and became very dizzy. I went to the bathroom and found half of the ceiling was covered in black mold. I had allergic reactions to it before and this one was heavy... I lost all energy but at 02.00 in the night, I had to leave the room and seek help from the reception. The receptionist helped me change room and it got a bit better. I changed hotel the day after (which as as planned). Unfortunately, the fever stayed for 2 days and ruined my Zanzibar weekend.

Mold ruined my Zanzibar stay

I'm really satisfied with this hotel. very close from ferry terminal and public bus station to Nungwi, local market, atc. This hotel is clean and bed is comfortable. Most of all, staffs are very kind, helpful and welcomed us. If I go to Zanzibar again, I'll stay in here.

High recommend.

Our room was very well equipped and spacious, with everything that we needed. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful which made our stay very pleasant. The rooftop dining area where we had breakfast was beautiful, and had amazing views over the rooftops of Stonetown. 
The only downside of this hotel is that it is slightly further out of the centre of town - so you have to be good at wiggling/finding your way round the tiny streets of Stonetown to get there! 
Would definitely recommend this hotel - particularly as it is such good value for money! 

Beautiful hotel and amazing value for money

The room was very clean and the staff very friendly! The hotel is walking distance to the ferry terminal and inside stonetown. The breakfast is good and the hotel is very well maintained!

Nice budget hotel!

Located in the central area of Stone Town convenient for two steps in the city located in an old palace but really pleasant interior, clean rooms although some very small but with everything necessary (ventilator air conditioner refrigerator tv) good bathrooms.

The property is located in an old building in the heart of Stone Town: despite its age it is well maintained, the spacious enough rooms are air-conditioned and ventilated; equipped with a refrigerator, a nice spacious bathroom, very clean.

Good accommodation in Stone Town.

The forodhani gardens are easy to access for evening dining. Very clean and offers all the modern comforts. The room includes a double-blade bed with air conditioning and fan, a mini fridge, a foot mirror and a hairdresser. There is only one closet missing. Near room 10, there is even a table and iron for refreshment available. Breakfast is plentiful and tasty. It consists of an exotic fruit plate and a plate of Indian and Swaes specialties, complete with a dish or an egg to choose from, as well as toast with a beef and a toast and a cup of coffee and tea.
