It's a tourist trap, they lie in the photos for 10 days, no water to wash it for 5 days, no incompetent personal commercial gesture.  no air conditioning.  no deckchair available it's a bungalow in the middle of the village no security at night I strongly advise against it. The locals harass you night and day to make you buy their souvenir made in China.  No peace.

Extremely bad experience. We stayed two nights, 3 people. The first night it rained though the roof and into the bouble bed, we did not sleep much. The second bed was dry but extremely worn out and very unconfortable. The room also did not have any aircondition (which we were promised) making it too hot to sleep in when the temperature is 30 degrees at night. The next night we changed to an other bungalow with aircondition as planned, in a more quiet area (this first one with sea view was very noisy). The second night was ok, but the room was very hot, the aircontitioner was very poor.

We asked for a compensation for the first night since it rained through the roof. The owners, Babbi and Laura, did not show up to talk to us, not even send any representative. They refused that they knew about the leakage and would not give us any compensation. We tried to explain that it is their responsibility when things like this happen and it does not make any difference if they did not know. The phone call was extremely unconfortable for someone who is shy and only want to give some advice on how one does good service for customers. From experience one would get the money back for a night like this. They would  would not listen to us and yelled on the phone repeating themself, not giving room for us to say much. Their arguments were that they did not have insurance, that we had stayed in the room and used electricity and water, and they were a small company and it would be expensive for them. No sympathy for their customers. They gave us 20 out of 50 dollars back, very expensive electricity and water?? 

After we left I texted them on Whatsapp just to give them some constructive feedback on how to treat customers (and other human beings in general). Babbi relied with a thank you and that he would take it into account, which was nice. But Laura (the owner) replied that I was rude and should not talk to her in this way, writing looong texts (really reflecting the phone call with her). I am attaching screenshots from the whatsapp conversation with Laura here to give you an impression.

This is the first time I have been in any kind of conflict with a customer serviceand it was extremely unconfortable, almost funny how angry they got when we requested a compensation. 

STAY AWAY!!

Location: this is the only positiv aspect, it is nearly on the Beach; 1st you habe to pass the local city and the house is embedded in between a Restaurant, Diving Station and Union Appartement 
House: it are not Bungalows, this are appartements in a bad shape, they need to be refurbished, the only good thing are the wooden beds, bathroom is in a very bad shape
Arrival: there was someone on time for handing over the key, but his only aim was to offer us a sunset boat trop; I refused and he got angry and from than on we got no informations any more; you can’t rely on the given informations, they are fake

Tourist - Trap

We stayed there for a week. The room was very disappointing, the bathroom is literally disgusting, no wonder you can’t find any photos of it! The shower is too rusty with an extremely low flow of water! We had to book daypasses in another hotel to be able to take complete showers. This was actually very painful. They have rooms not independent bangalows! 
Babi told us to be careful of beach boys and to never answer their questions nor hear their offers about excursions, so we did as he said and he was the only one organising our activities exclusively. To our surprise, right after we left for another hotel in another village, we discovered that the prices we have been paying him were almost double what other tourists were paying for the same trips, and for the last safari blue trip, his boys had the audacity to drop us off in the village somewhere we had to use GPS to get to the hotel, even though the deal was to drop us at the hotel! And Babi had said that we are paying extra fees because the trip will be with 5 tourists in total  and in reality we were 21 people on the boat, the food was scarse and we had conversations with everyone about the prices and we were paying double what everyone paid! At the end they got the others to their hotels and left us on the street! When I have informed Babi of all this and asked him to make it up to us he kept avoiding me until I gave up!
DO NOT TRUST HIM with the excursions, it’s better to bargain with the beach boys, as they don’t get the money until after they drop you off at your hotel after the trip, while Babi always took the money one day in advance!

The worst experience EVER

I’ve stayed for a week there and I loved the place! First of all it’s located right on the beach, so very convenient and also near by the village so if ever you wanna chill and buy some local food, fruits, have a drink, do shopping, it’s the place to be! 
The staff Is very helpful and very nice! Also Babi and Laura made my stay much more easy! Whatever you wanna do they are always here to help or to suggest some activities! They were wonderful! 
I definitely recommend the Ebony and Ivory’s hotel!

Great place to stay!

Great place to stay in Nungwi, just right at the beach! Shops and restaurants are near by, the rooms are spacious and clean every day, especially with ocean view, good internet, and free sunbeds are also provided. 
However,the best are the owners, Laura and Babby, they are always available, very friendly and assist on every guest request. I realy recomend the place for accomodation at Nungwi, Zanzibar.

Great place in Nungwi,Zanzibar

Babbi, the owner, gave us all the information and a discount coupons to one restaurant which was near the accommodation, it was really nice. Laura, his wife, even if we haven't saw her, she sent us some messages to make sure everything was fine, which was very nice from her 😊. There are many restaurants, bars, mini markets, a pharmacy and shops with souvenirs so close the accommodation. Even though Nungwi is known as a tourist place, we always found sun loungers in the morning - free of charge - there were really 20 metres from our room. And there's nothing more beautiful than having breakfast, listening to the sound of the sea and just relaxing 🌴. 
I definitely recommend this accommodation.

I can definitelly reccomend the place for budget holidays! The place is in the middle of the town, everything you need is just behind the corner. 
Communication with Laura na d Babi is great, you feel like someone definitelly takes care of you. Anything you need, they will help you.

Great place to stay

Very nice bungalows, perfect situated, perfect services. 
Really. We were there only 5 days, but we ivited to stay. Very good restaurant BlueOcean is few meters.
Babi and Laura are helpful and considerate.

NICE! Ebony and Ivory

I’m enjoying this trip. The room is simple and it is so close to the ocean the sand is literally at your doorstep. No TV. But you have a wifi. No air-condition. But you have a fan. You hear the ocean waves from your bed and it is so soothing you tune out everything else. 

Big spacious washroom. With handmade towel hanger. The shower is the best thing in the room. You control the temperature and it has nice fast moving warm water. You will enjoy it. 

It is bed & optional breakfast. It is smart pricing. You either pay with a breakfast or opt out and pay cheaper rate without breakfast. 

I will definitely return to this property. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
