The service was not up to what was being sold, the whole thing was lacking in maintenance: air conditioning was not working, electrical discharges were being felt in the shower and drinking water was lacking.

Disappointed

This nice hotel are in front of the ocean on Matembwe beach , is not so big and you really could have a great relax time. The room are very big , new, well dressed, the big bed are really comfortable. All the staff people are local, they speak English and they are so kind. The swimming pool is clean and nice the sea front is unbelievable

Great relax

It stands out for its high quality price ratio. Personal friendly. Simple but comfortable rooms, bathroom upgradeable, without just luxury. Monotonous but rich breakfast. The restaurant in line with those in the area both in price and type and quality of the food. They are very slow, as in the rest (about an hour to serve a dinner). Very well located and very quiet, both the hotel and the virgin beach of Matemwe. There is no night light in the area, so the sky is beautiful and there are many stars. The village is behind, but it has no attraction but gives a round trip for curiosity.

More than just a hotel in a fantastic location, compared to the next good thing.

We are 8 people and wanted to have a quick lunch in the hotel‘s restaurant as we are spending our nights somewhere else. First of all we were informed in the beginning that a lot of food was not available this day - which is basically OK when you think about fish, prawns etc. - but this decreased the amount of food for the vegetarians a lot (veggie burger,..)
After ordering we waited almost 2h (we were the only guests) for the food and we couldn’t eat all together.
For myself the fried noodles with vegetables were OK but 90min+ waiting time is too long

Restaurant Visit

The rooms are fine, it's spacious with a good terrace and the place had to be a good place in pre-pandemic times unfortunately it has been unmaintained for a long time and most air conditioning areas don't work, you get rats in the bathroom and the restaurant is to avoid and that we tried to avoid by charging them some locusts that we finally rejected for being frozen like stones.Tampoco is a good place to hire better beach trips and ask the boat people.

The score does not fit the actual reality.

Super amazing stay! We were 5 people sharing one of the Villas and it was so nice. The villa had everything we needed for our short stay. The pool and outside garden area was nice and well cared for. Breakfast was nice with good choices! Would definitely recommend. 

Amazing stay

Good food ( i only got breakfast) and nice people - super super friendly. I can recommend the place and it is easy to arrange boat trips to mnemba island. Also the view from the poolside is really really stunning

Good vibes

Rested at the Hotel Bahari Villa for 2 weeks. The hotel really meets its 3 stars.The check-in was quick, but keep in mind on arrival that all staff speak Swahili and not everyone knows or understands English.At the reception, the administrators speak and understand English well.I'll tell you about the currency, 1 dollar = 2000 Zanzibar shillings, and you can exchange dollars and euros for shillings at the hotel reception.after a long flight we had dinner at the hotel.
Personally, we did not like the dinner, the reason is high prices and not tasty, unsalted dishes.We went to the hotel only for breakfast and satisfied with them.So, for breakfast, everyone was served a plate of fruit (banana, a piece of pineapple, orange and papaya, and mango), and natural juices, they are very tasty, although a little diluted.Then they asked who would have tea or coffee with milk, brought a coffee maker and some milk (coffee was delicious). The menu is the same every day, there was a Spanish omlette with vegetables, just an omelet, hard-boiled eggs, and beaten eggs or they are also called a mix. When choosing which eggs to eat, they brought you a salad with mushrooms (very tasty), one pancake, two pieces of toasted toast and, if desired, jam or butter.Breakfast from 7:30 to 10 am.We lived in a bungalow on the 1st floor. Be prepared that the room will not be perfectly clean. The bed was clean but the mosquito nets were in terrible condition, they protected against mosquitoes and gnats but were torn and dirty. The detergents included shampoo, soap and shower gel, but if you brought your own products, be prepared that no one will deliver anything. In 2 weeks, only after the request, we were delivered 2 times soap and shower gel and that's it. And this despite the fact that we left a tip. As for water, we brought 1.5 people a day for 3 people and all, despite the fact that the air temperature was +32 and I wanted to drink constantly. So if you have little water you will need to go to the village and buy water there. They clean the room for 1 hour because everyone is slow and relaxed. Each room has a safe.We still had a fairly spacious terrace. The hotel area is beautiful and well maintained. There is a pool with increasing depth but everyone can swim. To the ocean from the room walk 2 minutes.
And now the important information about this hotel that happened to us.
The hotel has staff who dig into guests' belongings and steal money.
They stole $ 40 from our backpack in our inside pocket. The administrator responded to this situation at the reception simply with the word Sorry. A hotel that wants to have a reputation would offer visitors at least some bonus and here you are just sorry. We will never return to this hotel. And I am writing about this situation because I do not want anyone else to suffer so much. Therefore, whether to go to this hotel or not is up to you.

I'm there right now and I'm not recommending it at all. Sure, the view is gorgeous but when we get to the room, we realize there are no sheets on the bed and the mattress protector is dirty. The extra bed requested for my son has not been placed. It was 1 p.m. and the room was still not ready when check-in was at 12 p.m. We were transferred to another room that turns out to have almost no view of the ocean, while this was part of our reservation.

It's a nice frame, but that's it.

When we arrived at 10 a.m. after a 3 p.m. trip, we had to go to the bathroom to look for two beautiful fruits. But we were right, because the beach at the hotel was beautiful. We hadn't even tasted the hotel's bathroom or charged our phones until 7 p.m. When we discovered our rooms, there was a rusty and badly fixed faucet, mold on the bathroom wall. There were drapes and coffeecakes stained. So during our stay I saw 2 beautiful fruit and vegetables in the bathroom. But we were right, because the beach at the hotel was beautiful. We hadn't yet tasted the hotel's bathroom or recharged our phones before 7 p.m. But we were able to find a nice restaurant. A little disaster. But the dishes were very pleasant. We were able to say that we hadn't gotten a good meal, the only thing we hadn't gotten from a few minutes to a few minutes to a few minutes, and then we could say that we hadn't gotten to the whole sauce at the hotel, and
