Ximen Corner Hostel

Xiamen Corner Hostel 4F is ideally located near a MRT station (walk through the 7-11 for a short cut route), close to Ximen shopping areas, and a convenient location to see tourist sites like the Red House. Nearby are numerous places to eat. There are indoor restaurants but folks here appear to prefer to eat on the street. I had no difficulty walking and eating at assorted night markets I visited in Taiwan but this "eating out" was not my thing. I got some food to eat among the throng of others out for a meal but in the end I insisted we go a KFC so I could sit down. 
We booked a private room with bathroom - no extra charge for towels. The room was bare bones - bed, a small table and a coat rack to hang jackets but no closet. The room and bathroom was spotless. Slippers, tissue, toothbrush and hairdryer were unexpected but appreciated. I could feel the coils of the mattress therefore found the bed not conducive to sleep so another comforter was supplied to use as a mattress topper along with another small table that my companion requested. The folks at the front desk are friendly and aim to please. 

Toast, coffee and tea are put out in morning. No extra charge. There is a lounge for common use but I never saw anyone in it. We were able to store our luggage in order to visit more sights in Taipei before a late departure

Simple and Affordable Accommodation

I loved it for its location: near the metro station, in a busy district of shops and yet on the side street where it was calm and peaceful. Inside it was so so but fortunately I had a bed by the window so it was much nicer rather than in a place inside without any windows. Lockers were there too. I stayed for over a week and there was no problem to extend my stay. The breakfast was really basic (some toasts and 3 kinds of layers), so rather a snack to start a day than a real breakfast.  However, lots of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby.

Taipei adventure

Excellent location, take MRT Ximen, Exit 5. Hostel is on 4th floor, so pay attention to hotel sign on street. Theme is space alien, with Easter Island moais thrown in. Stayed in 10-bed dorm, each with its own bathroom. Lounge, public bathrooms, dorm bathrooms should be cleaned more often. For the price, sleeping facilities is fair. There is no kitchen. Simple breakfast (toast and jam) is served on a small counter.

Was there for 3 nights, and there was a couple sleeping on an extra, twin mattress on the floor (12 people in 10-person room). Given it was during the holidays, I give the benefit of the doubt to the staff that it acted on kindness (lack of available lodging) rather than trying to make extra money. Nevertheless, it was a safety hazard (fire, earthquake) and building code violation. Due to jet lag, I was up at 0400, so went into the lounge, and another couple was sleeping there. Not wanting to bother them, I sat on a small bench near the reception desk and read for 2 hours before going out (I'd love to lie and read on the lounge sofa instead).

I wouldn't stay here again.

Centrally located in Ximending. Facilities can be cleaner, better maintained.

The share is good but it would be better to choose the bed far for toilet. Bed is comfortable. The toilet is just average as it's not quite clean and some dirty. 
The overall is goo for this hotel as it very close to the station and in the heart of Ximen.
All the staffs also good in ebglish and good service mind.

The location is very good, near Ximen station exit 6

Close to Ximending and also MRT station. I sleep in dormitory and my dorm is quite small. Bathroom is built-in the dorm, I personally like bathroom to be build outside.
Washing machine and dryer is available and it's cheap.
If you are looking for cheap and comfortable dorm, then this is your choice. 

Strategic location

Generally the place is ok, the price is relatively good for the large space of the room. Situated in the middle of the busy Ximending, surprisingly we couldn’t hear the noise outside. Except for the neighbour next door who slams the cupboard and during shower time, but overall it’s very peaceful and quiet.

The only bad thing is the hygiene of the room. The air cond is so dusty we decided not to turn it on (luckily it was winter during our visit). Hair is everywhere on the floor, dust and cobwebs can be seen on the ceiling. The most frustrating thing is the shower head. Whoever who installed the shower head holder needs to have a good smack on his head. It was installed way out of the shower area and the water keeps shooting toward the dry area. I had to stuff a toothbrush to position the shower head to aim towards the shower area. 

Need a lot of maintenance and hygiene issue 

Located right in the middle of ximending. About 3mins walk from the station.  
Booked a dorm room, cheap and good location. Bed was clean. 
Towel have to pay for 50$ per piece. 
All in all, will come back again. 


Good location

Reasonable price and the location is good. But there is no kitchen and refrigerator, so that you can't cook. The bed is quite big than other hostels. Living room is large but I think there is no chance to make friend because I see no one in there. But so far, not bad. I may choose this again next time.

Overall is good, except our room doesn't have any hook or rack for hanging the clothes

Lots of food to explore, lots of store to shop. At night have some shows you can enjoy in hotel area. For the hotel, room has window but once curtain is shut, you can sleep with no light to disturb you. Very deep sleep, you can refresh for the next day.
