Resort with fantastic swimming pool!!! In the restaurant area of Uppuveli. New and clean rooms. The person manager is available and attentive. I would say the best in the area of Uppuveli. 5 minutes walk to the beach where there are restaurants by the sea. Recommended!!!!

Resort with fabulous pool

Avoid this hotel - it is extremely dirty!
Very far from description and pictures of the hotel. Really bad maintenance.
We had three rooms, all of them had bad beds, dirty floors - dirty toilets.
Absolutely no value for the money. We moved to a much much better nearby hotel after just one night - to almost the same price.

Don't go at this hotel - very dirty!

We came upon this hotel, having been let down by one we had booked nearby - and it turned out to be a very lucky mishap.  We booked for a week initially, but stayed a fortnight, it was so friendly and relaxing.
The staff are all lovely, and although there were limitations to communication (our Sri Lankan is not good, but their English was ok), they could not do enough for us to make our stay a good one.

Yes, the rooms are basic, but clean and functional with a good shower and a/c.
The wifi is excellent.
The beach is just a 5 minute walk through the property.

We really cannot understand the negative reviews - what are people looking for???

We loved Trinco Beach rseort so much that we are hoping to return next year.

So good, we couldn't leave!

The hotel is very neglected (summary cleaning, neglected garden, wi-fi a singhiozzo, no bar service or breakfast). The owners are often absent and the guests self-manage. On the same street there are numerous guest houses with a higher quality price ratio and therefore we personally do not recommend it, even compared to the standard of reception found in our itinerant trip in the country.

A hostel at the expense of a resort

We stayed 4 days at this "resort " in Uppuveli: the location itself is good for the beach and restaurants, it is a quiet place to relax in the hammocks, and the Polish guy who runs it gave us some useful tips, when we could fine him al the hotel! However, the room price is really too high, even considering that Trinco is one of the most expensive cities in SL! €50/night is a real wastefulness for 4 days in a room that has never been cleaned (with all guests arriving from the beach covered by sand), dark and very warm (a/c was out of order), no mirror in the bathroom, breakfast not included and wi-fi never working!! For the same (poor) quality, there are other solutions in the area.

Find something better!

The owners are nice and always ready to give good advice (especially on where to eat). The rooms are correct without any more. The proximity to the beach (a few meters and you are there) is a real plus. The owners will offer you activities to do: we snorkelled (count 3500 rupees per person) one day...try it really worth it!! We take you to Pigeon's island; you will have the opportunity to see beautiful fish and with a bit of luck a few turtles and sharks. We stayed there 5 nights and it was certainly a lot too much!! This hotel is not a hot idea to stay there. During the 5 days we stayed there, where we cleaned the house several times!! The boat wasn't breached and the room was not cleaned, and in no way could we have slept in it better conditions than in the hotel.

Nice but a little expensive anyway

The ventilator in the rooms is very insufficient for the heat it makes in the rooms. The shower floor does not have enough slope for the water to reach the sink well. But with the huge heat it makes in the room, it evaporates quickly. It is a pity that hotel prices in this area are well above the average in Sri Lanka. On the other hand, note that the kindness, the good work of Martin and his staff, and the magnificent location of the hotel, fill the shortcomings discussed.

 Improved equipment, perfect location.

Martin and his partner gave us a very warm welcome when we arrived at Trinco Beach Resort and were fabulous hosts throughout our stay. 

The rooms are basic but clean with ceiling fans, mosquito nets and showers. One room boasts air con at an additional cost though it is possible to sleep with just the fan so we didn't use it. Highly recommended to travellers and backpackers who want a room just a stones throw from the beach.
