It's dirty, a lot, and it's a shame because the staff is trying to please, help, advise, but it's dirty, you don't know where to play.

So dirty and disgusting. There was large cockroaches under my bed and in the shower! The staff is kind but very unhelpful and don't know anything. There isnt toiletries or towels like they say that they provide. They also over charged me a ridiculous amount! I will never stay here again and advise everyone else to not as well. 

Do not stay here!

My wife & I stayed a THSC Guesthouse - for 7 weeks - It was  true feeling of "home away from home" The staff were not only friendly & efficient - they were very funny - personable - easy to chat with & ready to provide anything we needed - They let us use  their kitchen & fridge to cook at no extra charge - one of the the brothers had a Tuk-Tuk on sight - they invited us to their family home for lunch & to visit a local kindergarten where we donated some simple schools supplies = learning material - They gave us a very good rate for Long Term stays - It has been the highlight of our trip

SPECTACULAR CHOICE FOR BUDGET TRALVERS

I agree with the rest of the reviews: very friendly staff, very poor hostel. It's very hard to find since it's on a bit of a outskirt of the city. Not worth the money at all. The guy who helped me was nice enough, but it's a very, VERY basic backpackersguesthouse and even then it's still not worth the money. Avoid.
Oh, and the fish need a bigger aquarium. This is animal abuse! :(

Nice enough staff but still: avoid!

We have just stayed here for 1 night. Initially we had booked (or rather thought we had booked) 5 night, but upon arrival were informere that it was not possible to book through hotels.com nor was our online payment accepted so we were asked to pay in cash. All this despite having received a confirmation e-mail from hotels.com stating that we had payed in full and that our booking was guaranteed. Apparently the owner has recently ended all collaboration with hotels.com and other such sites. But we made our reservation over 1 month prior to our arrival leaving ample time for avoiding such screw ups! We don't know who is at fault but it certainly did not help our view of the place. The owner and especially his right hand man are outgoing and friendly, but the state of the room(s) is not good! It is very basic to say the least and a double bed turne out to be two single beds pushed together. Futhermore, the beds are hård as rock!! And the toilets... well those have already been described by others. Also we had no a/c which made sleeping virtually impossible. (We had ordered a/c but seeing as they had not received our reservation it is likely that the lack of a/c is due to this.) In any case we seized the opportunity of not being committed to a 5 day reservation and changed hotel after the first night. Now all that remains is to get our money back from hotels.com. In summary: this may be an okay choice if you are a seasoned backpacker needing a cheap place for a day or two and who doesn't care if there is water for showering or washing their hands, but if you require any more than that then spend a few more rupees and find another place. (You'll have to pay 1000 rupees extra for the a/c anyways.)

Don't go unless you have to sleep on the street! Dirty bathroom and red earthenware floor that leaves traces everywhere! Fortunately it's very, very cheap because it's frankly not top! And everything's extra even the wifi!
