This is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in. We arrived and they didn't have our booking so stuck us in 2 budget rooms and claimed it was the same price as 2 "deluxe" rooms. When they moved us to the deluxe rooms there was no difference other than an ac machine that didn't even work. Place filled with bugs, no mosquito nets, incompetent staff, filthy rooms and extremely over priced. Whatever you do, do not stay in this kack hole.

Noisy room and the cheapest  room we could get was disgusting > ants on my bed, stains on the towel and bed sheets, bathroom small and disgusting 
But the staff is friendly, helpful and endeavoured. Breakfast was boring: only 4 pieces of toast with jam 
I don't think it's worth the price

We ordered our dinner a day before, stating the dishes & time for dinner. We reiterate the order in the next morning on that evening the  dinner arrived  1 hour after. 
Breakfast was just bare minimum, with tea, bread, butter & jam
Rooms are poorly sound proofed, could hear guests and hotel owner talking outside our room after 11.30 pm
The beach near by  is not suitable for swimming as it is used by local fishermen.

Where do I begin? Rooms are small, outdated, not very clean, and full of mosquitos (and no mosquito nets provided - just a can of inspect spray that they drop off at your room and expect you to deal with). Our room didn't lock because the hinges were so loose - so throw room security out the window. I literally could shoulder check the door and it would open with ease. Insanely loud kitchen (which is located on the second floor and is easily within earshot of the 1st and 3rd floor rooms) - literally sounded like a construction site by the way they were throwing the pots and pans around at all hours of the day and night. The worst food I have eaten - not only in Sri Lanka but the worst I've had in recent memory. Arrives cold and 2 hours late (even when you pre-order and specify the time), and the preparation was just a joke - it was honestly nearly inedible. Don't be fooled with that fancy water dispenser in the kitchen area - the staff just refill the bottle with tap water when it's empty. The "nice" beach they directed us to behind the hotel was a fishing boat beach full of trash and raw sewage outlets from the nearby homes. To top it off, the hotel manager/owner (who lives on the first floor and loves to talk very loudly in the hallways late at night) will stop at nothing to take every opportunity to scam you out of more and more money. Menu items we asked about in the morning magically doubled in price in the evening. He would also try to quote prices for other items only after the kitchen cooked it so there was less of a chance that you would back out of the order. Hidden fees for A/C and power for the A/C units. This is also the "superior" hotel we were sent to after Hotel Trinco overbooked us. Hotel Trinco assured us that no extra fees would apply, but of course, upon arrival, Absaras proceeded to argue for extra money wherever it could. This may be a common scam because we encountered one other traveller who had the same thing happen to him. Hotel management is absolutely incompetent and the owner is a scam artist. Take your money elsewhere. This place will ruin your trip.

Do not stay here.

On May 20, 2015 they settled in this hotel on armor with a bookie who paid for their accommodation for 14 days, and did not get a check in hand they promised to bring it to the room later baggage was not cleared bags were closed went to see how far the beach from the hotel, spent the night in the morning gathered in the store noticed the disappearance of part of the local money, on returning from the store noticed the second theft only already dollars that were hidden. found another hotel began to demand money back we refused to turn to the police without result.
