There are no sign boards for this resort.
Very Hard to find the place.
After all I found the place, I got an information from a neighbor lady that this resort doesn't operate here.
And she direct me to another hotel which is managed by the same owner.
I wasted 20 mins finding this resort.
Disappointing.

Waste of time!

Cheated with photographs. The photos displayed on the website and trip advisor are very old and only ruins of those adventure activity arrangements are there now. 

We were bunch of 8 engineers who arrived around 11am there.

The lunch was way below par. Cost 800 for us but similar lunch could be found for 150 bucks in Colombo. There was nothing to do in the evening and we somehow managed to hike along the nearby river. No arrangement for adventure activities.
Do not hope for village exploration. It was not a rural type surrounding. Better go to Meemure for such experience. 

Tents are pretty ordinary and not even a sheet is provided. 

Sinharaja forest is at its best but nothing to do with these fellows. Forest department people guided us for that part of the trip. 

Again... Do not believe in their photography. That is not real...

Dissapointed Experiance

Me, wife and 3 children from Nederlands was on a round trip in  Sri Lanka last January. We visited so many nature and adventure places in this beautiful Island. But disaster struck us at Sinharaja Adventure Resort. 

We made the booking directly communicating with the owner of the resort for 2 nights where we were given a package of all inclusive tented accommodation, all trekking and Bird watching trips in Sinharaja rain forest and all meals. On arrival we had to call the owner to tell that we have arrived at the location and it took him 1 hour to send the people to pick us up. Then the drama started. There were two people who came did speak a world of English and they were looking at us completely shocked, I felt that they were not expecting us but by now we have already paid the money in full even before our arrival.  The people who came to receive us were two villagers who have been asked t man the camp, completely did not know what to do. When we went to the camp they gave us their so called welcome drink, we only to one sip and puked. It was a artificial cordial with ton of sugar mixed in to it. Could not drink. 

At this time I knew something is happening not right, I checked the tents and they were make shift tents. we have been going on safaris and adventure camping in whole of Africa and central america and are used to eco and rustic set up but this camp/tent is a refugee camp. For the whole place there were only two people, innocent two people from the resort and they did not know what was there job, what to do and how to cater us. Then I phoned the owner Janaka asking questions about the staff and the naturalist he promised us for the trekking and bird watching for which he said will be there in few minutes. Another person appeared as promised and approached him and ask me to brief about the treks. Could not speak a word of English. And then I showed him my pocked birding book and ask him to identify few birds. Not a single bird was identified, what a naturalist. Then my elder son taught him about few birds. 

Then we phone owner Janaka again and asked him about our stay and expressed unsatisfactory set up of makeshift tents and incompetent naturalist who did not know a name of a common bird. The phone was hung thats all, we did not even hear from him even after returning to Nederlands. 

We paid nearly US$ 2000 for our 2 nights stay and we did not get a single cent refunded. We did not stay at the camp as it was not properly staffed, no trained people, dirty tents filled with water and dust. It was 2 PM and the kids were hungry, the two men who was at the camp did not know what to do. We were told that the package starts from lunch but we were informed at even 2 Pm it was not ready. At 11 AM we phoned owner and said our where about and will be arriving by 12 noon. Then we checked in Boulder Garden Hotel where we enjoyed the same trip with half of the cost with luxury accommodation. 

Please be aware, Sinharaja Adventure Resort is scam, do not go there. We were robbed. No staff but untrained two villagemen only. The common toilet for the tents were utter mess. There were broken glass bottled or glasses everywhere, we asked what were these. The two villagement difficultly explained us those were left overs by the previous local boy group who have come to drink.

This is not adventure or eco resort to explore SInharaja, avoid it at all costs.

Avoid at all costs

Group of 25 Doctors went on this over night trip few months back. Such a beautiful location. Although we were not inside the Sinharaja Forest itself It was no difference. You need to walk about 2km to reach this place. It was unforgettable experience for every body. (All Male). Camping area encircle by the beautiful Water channels & You  just get to the water & when ever you feel like doing so !
Arrangements in the night was great & the BBQ no difference. We all danced around the fire. After a really nice Breakfast some of us again got in to the water before leaving. Many birds were around including Blue Magpie.

Wonderful visit with Friends !!!!

I am Tharanga ( a Manager of a Finance company ), and my wife Anjali ( a banker ) visited Singharaja Adventure resort on 6th September with our loving kids. Frankley we had a dought until we see the place, whether its suitable to stay. But after we reached there,  we couldn't believe our eyes.  I have never seen such a beautiful place before.  Whole resort was surrounded with the forest.  One side was margined to a cool & beautiful rever with hundreds of fishes swiming closer to us. Our tent was near the river. We were served by a welcome drink. Inside of the tent was fully secured to sleep. There were two separate compartments in the tent, which can be closed with zips. During the night we locked our kids zip with a padlock for more safety.  Staff of the resort was so friendly. They treated us with traditional meals on traditional way. They took our family safly to see the water fall and the bat's tunnel.  We also had a exiting but safe rever crossing.  Leeches were there but we managed it with sold water & Morteen cockroch spray.  Our kids had baths three times in the cold rever. In the night we had a nice campfire in the resort.  Next day morning we had a rear chance to see the bird name " kehibella " in the resort.  They were provided all sanitary facilities in an attractive style.  Finally we had a very nice time and came back to colombo with many sweet memories.  It is really our luck to see a place surrounded with nature.
