We were really excited to stay here however we were slightly disappointed with the lack of attention to detail. Overall the bed was comfortable and the location was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, made fresh for each table and available at a time that suited us. The shower was good and had hot water, and we really enjoyed the bathroom being outside. The staff were attentive to our needs and dealt with any request we had without a hitch. We really liked having the pool too and being a small complex meant that it was always calm and quiet around the pool. We really loved that the 5 cats and a dog were really well cared for and clearly enjoyed being around the guests.
The room left us feeling a little disheartened. The bed nets had holes in them and one was patched up with a plaster - that's right, a band aid. The sheets were old and worn, I could clearly see two worn patches from the couples who had stayed here before us. The fridge was dirty, smelled and had dead ants inside. The room was incredibly dark and the only mirror was above the sink outside. This didn't have a light above it and so getting ready to go out was really hard. The number of mosquitos in the room was astounding. We killed as many as we could, luckily had our own plug-in repellent and a bed net (with holes) and were bitten more here than our entire trip in Sri Lanka, including when we were in the jungle. I tried to open the curtain on our first day and the whole pole came tumbling down on top of me. The original wooden pole had been replaced with a light weight plastic pipe which fell EVERY time you tried to open or close the curtains. There was no wifi in the room, this was only available at the restaurant and around the pool. On 3/6 of the days we were here, the wifi data had run out and we were not able to use the wifi for most of the day. On one of the days there was a powercut and so we were unable to use it on this day either. It's important to note that we're not huge users of data and simply wanted to go on social media or message family but were unable to do so because other guests were using it do stream. It would probably be wise to just get a better plan that reaches all of the rooms with more data. One morning we were awoken at 6:30am because someone was sweeping our veranda. 
Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Nilaveli and the location couldn't have been better. We thought that Bella Nilaveli was going to be luxury without the luxury price tag and we've come away feeling like the owners need to spend a few nights in the room to identify what's missing. 

Disappointed

Guest house neat and clean, attentive and cordial service from all the staff. Good and abundant breakfast. Possibility of restaurant-bar lunch and dinner service as well. Basic being a bit distant from other locations. You can breathe peace and relax by the pool in the middle of the green, but you can also walk to the sea for a nice day on the beach.

What is the use of this product?

A great, quiet spot where we spent 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We had a good comfortable room although the air conditioning struggled in the heat. The pool was excellent-very clean and a good refreshing temperature for a swim. It is only a very short walk to the beach & the neighbouring properties but we were very happy with our choice of Bella. The food was excellent and there was a bit of variety with our breakfast each day. The fish night was excellent and we thought the prices were very fair. All staff were outgoing and friendly and made for a very relaxing stay

Great Relaxing stay

Small Italian/Sri Lankan family-run resort. Located 100 meters from the longest beach in Nilaveli. They have different types of bungalows, our era is free of A/C, but we didn't have any heat problems with a shovel on the ceiling and ventilator. Bathroom with open shower in Maldivian style. Very well maintained garden with a beautiful swimming pool. Massage and yoga area. You can rent a scooter and visit the beautiful beaches and wonderful temples of Trincomalee. We didn't visit Pigeon island because of the high costs that the government imposes. We were fine👍👍👍👍

Great stay at Nilaveli beach

For our first time we visit Sri Lanka, this cosy family run hotel near the beach was the perfect place to start and learn to know the way of life in Sri Lanka. Anna  was very helpful in preparing our arrival. Arriving there after a very long flight and car trip by night from Colombo, we were welcomed by Amjee who made us feel comfortable from the start. It felt great to settle down by the beach and have a great breakfast with fresh passion fruit (straight from the patio into our plate). Staff was always very helpful, even if we asked to get up extra early because we wanted to go and see whales for 5 consecutive days, thank you again for that. We were in the Mango hut, very cosy and a nice place to hide from the Srilankan heat (airco available :-) ) . 
After our daily diving routine, it was great to enjoy some drinks (superb fresh juices and the "Lion") and great food! We were happy to be part of the birthday party of Sameera! And it was fun to play some chess with little Leo.
We hope to be back !

Coming home after a day on Indian Ocean

This is the most amazing place to stay in Nilavelli. It is an oasis of calm with cabins surrounding a lovely clean swimming pool. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. There is a nice eating area where we sat and chatted with other guests. Anjay is the manager and he does a great job and is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was perfect and we also at there two nights which was also fantastic, Tea was brought to our chalet with our balcony overlooking the pool. It is such a beautiful relaxing place and such good value. Anjay organised a really good driver Farzid to take us around Trinco at a very good price,

Amazing oasis of calm

We stayed here for two nights and had a really relaxing time in between sightseeing. We enjoyed the breakfast and had dinner here both nights. Lovely and decent sized swimming pool. Really friendly staff. Also a great way to meet other people travelling

Small oasis of tranquility

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay at this hotel.  The villa is located 1 minute from the beach and we enjoyed playing in the ocean waves.  There is a nice sun heated pool and beautiful, well kept, cosy garden area with organic herbs and fruit trees.   We really liked the environmental aspect - no plastic bottles.   The breakfast was very good and filling.   We did yoga every morning with an excellent yoga teacher and we felt great after each class.  I personally liked the villa's friendly cats and dog.

Nice find in Nilaveli Beach

The Bella is really a very nice place to relax, enjoy the pool, the beach but also to meet and have a good evening. Anna and Sameera welcome you to their little corner of paradise and with their team they are in the small care. Always listening to their guests we cooked together 2 beautiful fish which we cooked at the BBQ and then tasted all together around a large common table, we had a little foot on the beach with Sameera before and the next evening all together at the Beach Lovers restaurant. So if you want to have a good time and especially if you care about your travel experiences and don't hesitate.

The perfect place to relax and share

A lovely stay in Nilaveli, the sea is 2 minutes walk with the wooden beach chairs. The beach is periodically cleaned by the hotel staff however some guests ( not from the hotel) leave the trash (( 
The hotel is very nice with such a simple rooms -amazing relax atmosphere, warm water. The food was above expectations -veg curry and sea food, fresh juice with ice!!! Nice pool was a favorite place for kids.
