Brilliant beach location with a very clean pool. Family run business making you feel comfortable. Food good, room very clean. Staff very attentivecand eager to help. Wifi excellent downstairs. Would recommend this hotel.

Comfortable Room with lovely view watching the fishing boats coming in.

My wife and I deliberately chose the Topaz Beach for an overnight stay as it was close to where we were spending our evening. The room, with A/C, was acceptable but the electric shower was very weak. The breakfast was reasonable for that class of hotel and, because we got a good deal, we would possibly stay there agin.

OK for a one night stay

We stayed 3 nights in this establishment from December 30, 2022 to January 2, 2023 to spend the new year on the beach in Negombo. The only quality of the hotel is its location and its sea view pool. Big disappointment about the cleanliness of the room and its old age. The room is large but dirty, the sheets are gray and holed, the towels idem. The room is infested with termites that have eaten the doors. My household is not done every day. The lunch is not good, a juice of chemical fruit, coffee or tea, 4 slices of bread from my beef jam and a mini fruit jam. Compared to the other hotels, sitting is very limited. The staff, is very kind and caring. What a pity that this establishment is not entertained. Unfortunately we cannot advise him.

Avoid it if possible

I do not usually stay alone in hotels, however every one from the driver who collected me from the airport to the reception staff and room staff were all so kind and friendly. Food excellent delicious. Staff always helpful. I would stay here again.. Beach golden sands just next door.
In fact I M returning here before I leave.
Would recommend to my friends.

Friendly Family Hotel

We stayed at Topaz for three weeks. We really like tjis hotel, close to the ses and to all restaurants and shops. The stuff are very kind and Will do your vaccation to a good memory. All are very helpful and kind.

Holliday

When you wake up and have breakfast with a view of the sea, you can start the day wonderfully. The rooms are appropriately furnished with beds for a good sleep. The breakfast buffet also offers a lot of fresh fruit and Indian treats. The staff takes care of you and you feel comfortable as a guest. The pool and garden facility is manageable and very well maintained. The beach starts right behind the hotel.

Family, hospitable and in good condition

I stayed 2  weeks at Topaz Beach Hotel this time.
Everything was perfekt.
Room food location was very good.
I have been there  several times and it is always so nice. Best Hotel in Negombo.
The stuff and the manager is very friendly.

We paid 37€ for a night, the very yellowish and worn sheets, the dirty bathroom and with the rotating lid, toiletries and a sad soap bottle. As a positive point, the air conditioning and the views to the beach. The swimming pool looks different in the photos, but you can bathe. The staff is very kind and attentive. In the 14 days I was in Sri Lanka, although I slept in much better rooms without air conditioning or beach views, for 9€ and also with breakfast included. Surely this hotel when it opened back in the 70s or 80s would be fine but need an urgent renovation.

Topaz has definitely seen better days, but the atmosphere is friendly and the staff are very helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious with good AC and magnificent views of Negombo beach. Breakfast was ample and the pool is a dream.

The balcony furniture should definitely be replaced - it was all bleached and falling apart.

Gloriously run down, but ever so welcoming

Great room with sea view and has a nice private balcony.
Staff are very friendly and kind - we felt like at home.
Breakfast was tasty and the best part is the swimming pool facing the beach.
Will be staying here on my next trip.
