What a place! We couldn’t be happier!
Sri Lanka is just full of friendly people but the friendliest might just be the ones running this hotel.
Besides the sweet staff (who threw a birthday-party and spoiled our 8 year old all day) the location of this hotel is obviously amazing.
Beach, waves, surfing, snorkling, sunsets. We also loved the food and its variety. Barely went anywhere else to eat during our week in Hikkaduwa. The restaurant feels like a cozy beachlife livingroom. The room had all we wanted and needed, including good wifi.
If we go back to Sri Lanka we will definitely go here again. Strongly recommend this place!

Favorite place!

We stayed at the hotel for a few days. The room with the balcony and the view of the sea was amazing! The room was clean and spacious with air conditioning. The view of the sea was fascinating. We really liked it! Then the rest of the vacation we stayed with friends in the villa, but we spent almost all the time at the beach of the restaurant and ate there too. The atmosphere was very warm, friendly and friendly staff, delicious food. When we left and said goodbye to the owner and the staff of the hotel-restaurant, we even traced. Let's go back there exactly one more time! I highly recommend for a holiday with children, including. My daughter didn't want to go anywhere else.

Excellent hotel and restaurant.

Everyone at this hotel will do anything they can to make your stay memorable. Food was excellent. location on the beach its the best place on the beach no pebbles or rocks anywhere. Could watch the early morning surfing from the sea view room. Value for money excellent.

Excellent location and Staff. Rooms were good standard A/c worked properly. Value for money EXCELLENT

We stayed here for 2 nights.
Bathroom was full of ants (they got to our bed as well).
The hotel didn’t have blankets at all, only sheets.
Worth thing was - on our last day we wanted to stay at the beach and use the hotel beach facilities after check out, and they didn’t let us without extra payment- they told us to get off the beach beds or pay extra 4000 rupee.

Not clean, Rude managers

I had booked for four days but after two I left because I had the deluxe room next to the chaos of the street. It was impossible to sleep. They were nice not to charge me all four days but only two. Rooms are still cleaner than the average in the area. Near the top beach.

Without infamy without praise

We love beaches and wanted to spend few days of our holiday by the beach. International beach hotel is located by the beach side and it’s sea front view to the room was excellent. Especially sun set was great. The hotel is very clean and economically fit for any budget. The staff was friendly and they serve food to the beach. The food was great and sufficient. I would stay again in international beach hotel.

Pleasure by the beach

The pictures are misleading at first, the place is disastrous in looks. It's lowly maintained. Rooms are smelly with dampness. Food is pathetic yet expensive. They take forever to prepare it and yet it doesn't feel fresh. They behave rudely with Indians and do not cater to them with regard. Let alone regard, they are outrightly rude. They greet on the basis of skin color. Blatantly racist! 

HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING. IT'S A BIG NO! 

Hotel located just infront of beatuful beach. Easy access. A lot of shops and restaurants near by just a walkable distance. Hotel room size is good and clean. Overall good experience. Varieties type of foods are available. 

Awesome balcony view 

When we arrived there was no check in as such. No one told us anything. They said toiletries were provided but all you got was a tiny bar of soap. The staff there were great though and every helpful. Food wax also good.

Good and bad

I arrived at the international hotel with all intentions of staying there with my pregnant partner. After arriving we went down to the restaurant "drunken monkey" and had lunch. Being generous, id say the food was poor to average, after the meal we went back up to our room where I went to use the toilet, upon lifting the lid, i found an un-flushed poo floating in the bowl. I told my pregnant partner about this and was actually laughing at the time. After a short discussion we decided this probably wasn't the place for us to stay. I then went down to the reception to explain this, where i was yelled at by staff and told i was just "causing trouble, and making excuses to leave" from this i was a little flustered so i went up to the room to grab my things, but i left my phone on the bedside table and left the hotel. I returned 30 minutes later to collect my phone, but it was gone. I then requested the security footage of who had entered the room since I left, one person had entered, the cleaner (the security operator tried to skip the time frame in which the cleaner entered the room as to make it appear no one had entered, which I called him out on). I am beyond positive about where i left the phone, but because the cleaner must have hid the phone from the cameras on his way out, there was nothing I could do. Its not the phone that really pissed me off but the attitude of the staff and collusion of bad intent. My partner and I have travelled a lot of third world countries, and are not afraid of a bit of grit. But id feel wrong to not let people know about this and have them go through a similar experience.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Phone stolen by cleaner and fecies in toiltet unflushed on arrival!
