Stayed 2 nights here. Very friendly owners. Easy to communicate with. They also offer a taxi service which we availed of to the local tsunami museum and onwards to Bentota. Central location.
Great value. Would recommend it.

Guesthouse accommodation

We stayed there in March 2017.. The best thing you can buy for 22 bucks a day. It's less clean. We lived in a room with increased comfort. The room has air conditioning and a big refrigerator. All the amenities. There is hot and cold water. Excursions are better to take to the coast. Excellent massage!!! The Internet is the best on the coast!

It's nice, like a grandmother in the village.

We stayed here for a week and it was our first time in Sri Lanka and Hikkaduwa. This place is not located in the Hikkaduwa  city centre, but closer to Thiranagama beach which we preferred much more. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach, which was lovely and not so crowed. The guesthouse is good if you are traveling on a budget. The couple who runs it are very nice people. very friendly and easy going. They helped us with everything we needed. We were given a room in the back of the house so our windows was facing the garden. The rooms are good sized and had everything we needed, fridge, a/c and fan and a good sized closet. The bathroom was attached and was clean. We had breakfast every day and we were given something different every morning, fruit salad, bread or juice. The Hikkaduwa train station is about 3 km away by foot. There was good restaurants on walking distance.
The only cons would be the train passing by in the night, scaring us half to death the first night and that the room could have been more properly cleaned (eg, under bed, behind fridge). But, all in all we enjoyed our time in this little guesthouse and would def come here again. 

Lovely guesthouse!

This was the perfect guesthouse in Hikkaduwa for travellers on a budget. Our room was air-conditioned (which was really nice given the heat), the shower was good, we also had a fridge which was very handy and the hosts were very lovely and helpful. Location wise it's great. From the main part of town where most of the restaurants are, it's about a 5 to 10 minute walk. From the beach, it's a 2 minute walk and that area of the beach is very quiet. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves. Should note, it's based on the main road between Galle and Colombo, so a bit of passing traffic. However, most places are located on this road, so hard to avoid.

I'd definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Hosts and Excellent Rooms

Like this place, really relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the hosts are both very engaging and charming, great place to come back to from the beach ( great beach), which is 3 minutes walk away, drink a cold beer and chat, food is also possible and the two or three times l had dinner there were very good, local food at a reasonable price. Room was clean and bug free, bathroom was clean with warm water. Fridge in the room. Wi-Fi good. I can't find negative things to say about this place, stayed 6 nights over two visits, would definitely go back.

Good value 

We chose and booked 2 nights at Avon after reading a series of extremely positive reviews both here and on other sites. We probably arrived at Avon with too high expectations and so were disappointed. Firstly on the site through which we booked it was specified that credit card payment was accepted, but in fact we could not pay for it for very unclear reasons (among other things the payment of the full amount is required at the time of check in). The guest house is located a few steps from a large and desolate beach, but to get to the hotel we have to walk for 2 km. The hotel we occupied was located near the street and was therefore quite noisy.
