Place looks nice at first glance, but it's quite small so outside your room there's little anonimity. Owners (though they claim not to be so they can refer to their "boss") act friendly but be careful with these guys, they're quick to distrust and only out for money.

They'll try to make things seem more expensive than they are, like booking an airport taxi and afterwards charging 80 dollars, when confronted saying "yes but fuel $1.50 now" while in fact $1.12. Breakfast on booking says $2 but they will act surprised and charge $7. The woman will try to laugh everything away sinically while the guy will try to guilt trip you.

Also, trains driving by throughout the night rumbling and honking.

On the upside; the rooms are relatively clean.

It's a nice villa and the owners. Everything is clean and cozy. The air conditioning works well, there's also a ceiling fan. White bedding, which is rare in Sri Lanka. Breakfast is not expensive and very tasty.

Basically, the accommodation is highly recommended. A nice garden with a small pool, rooms sufficiently equipped with mosquito nets, air conditioning, refrigerator, shower and balcony with seating facilities. The owner operates a sushi restaurant in the complex that offers very tasty but has its price. Here slow food is practiced: bring plenty of time and patience for dinner. The complex is harmoniously designed and very centrally located to both shops and the beach. Everything is very well maintained and super clean and to feel.

Very beautiful, clean, and quite place. Everything is around ( restaurants, super market , party places ) and just 3 minutes walk to the beach and main surf spot. We enjoyed the staying and highly recommended 

Super place 

These guys are quite inhospitable. Very rude when you talk to them, and their body language was also very rude. Example 1: Our room ACs stopped working on the 2nd day. When we called them to fix it, the guy came mumbling, cribbing with a cringed expression and later scolded us for not knowing how to use the remote and using more than just on/off button. Example 2: We had partly paid the rent and the pending we were to pay at the end of the stay. When we requested to use card payment, they insisted we pay cash (and even mentioned that they want to avoid paying tax). There was no bank/atm around, and they were rude and insisted we arrange for cash from wherever as they didnt care. We offered other means of legal transactions like bank transfer etc, they refused all documented transactions. 
Example 3: there were a couple of times we heard them pass comments at us (esp on the way we dressed, which btw was nothing but short and tshirt or while returning from the beach, it would be swimsuit with a coverup). 
All in all, we felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcomed there. 
Other facts: 
1. The wifi doesnt work in any rooms. You can access it only in the common area on ground floor, and that too the wifi is very weak
2. Unlike other airbnbs, this one doesnt allow using their kitchen (you have to pay extra for that) and also doesnt serve you any food (unless you buy it from their suchi restaurant that opens for few hours of lunch and dinner only). There is no arrangements for breakfast (even paid). 


Horrible hosts

Beds with mosquito nets, pool, everything very well maintained, not disturbing despite the railway line in close proximity. Owners are very nice, cooperative and negotiable. The situation is particularly good, as many things are easily accessible on foot.

Oasis of tranquility


The place is beautiful and that's all. My husband and I arrived at a sushi restaurant and were disappointed. The prices are funny, terribly expensive and the size of the pitzpon, there is not much selection and worst there is no atmosphere. My husband and I sat in a restaurant listening to a conversation, there was no music at all and it took a long time. After we paid the bill, they complained about the atmosphere, instead of coming towards us. They laughed at us and told us that we were invited to complain. Too bad there is no awareness that has potential

The villa and the garden are very nice and very well maintained and clean. The villa is located a little far from the main street in a quiet settlement. The railway line is nearby, the train can be heard, but it was also not disturbing. In the garden with pool you can relax nicely. The villa is maintained by a small family who live behind the house. They are very friendly and helpful with questions. Unfortunately, the price of the villa is slightly overpriced. At 5 nights, not even the garbage can was cleaned, not even emptied. We had the standard double room, the double bed were 2 sliding apartments. The rooms were small and for 2 people with 2 backpacks to pack out. The bathroom was very narrow and large for this.

Nice accommodation at an exaggerated price

I was staying nearby and came to see the sushi bar at this villa with my friends. Everything was so fresh and tasty, very good sushi! Very calm place at the little garden with the relaxing atmosphere.

My wife and I stayed for 1 night on our way south and were very happy with the accommodation. The room was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was very spacious. The staff were really helpful showing me the surf breaks and the best time to surf. The sushi restaurant is great with a Japanese chef who clearly knows his stuff. Only small complaint is that our room (on the garden level) felt a little crammed and if we were staying longer, space would have been an issue.
