We spent all our days on the beach in this cafe at the hotel! The best fresh smoothies, the staff and the owners of this place are very welcoming. Sun beds are super comfortable! And they also have the coolest surfing quiz! 
I am sure that I will return there more than once!

It is a guest house, not a hotel.  Very reasonable and friendly staffs.  They serve food so if you just want to surf and relax, they have all.  I loved the fresh mango juice and my husband loved fresh pineapple juice.  They were so good!

We had food here too,it is rather simple but good. Service is a bit slow, but they really try.

Also the waiters do not understand english well but they somehow manage to get the correct order :)

We had milk coffee with ice cream and it was amazing, very refreshing (i usually have my coffee black but this one was worth to try)

Stayed here over the new year for one night. It was a last minute booking because the previous three hotels had let me down by not honouring their bookings. I was glad to find a room and paid 7000 rupees for an air conditioned room. Don't think this was a good price, but I needed a room and the location on the beach was ideal.

The room was on the ground floor and affected by noise from the road. Able to sleep through it but noticeable. I would recommend one of the rooms on the first floor facing the beach. 

The room was basic but had everything you need. Shower was pretty good and large. The room furniture and bathroom fittings were looking tired, but that is to be expected in this price bracket. 

The staff/manager/owner were helpful and the bar was a great place to watch the world go by. 

Overall, no complaints. Would stay there again, but would change the room and hopefully get a better price.

Last minute booking 

Why did I leave? This is a surf stay and is all you need if that's what you're looking for. The staff is wonderful and I actively miss them. They're not looking to wait on your hand and foot so if you're a high maintenance guest do both them and the rest of the guests a favor and go elsewhere. This is the community I wanted in Sri Lanka and I will be back.

Take me back

It could be a great place, but the food service is sooo slow and not not worth the wait, pluss some  of the rooms smell bad. But the staff are very sweet and the restaurant across the street Spagetti & Co is very good! The Japanese woman owner was very helpful, we enjoyed our stay!

Good location, great potential

The food was terrible and most of it was cold when we got it. They had some kind of grilled meny that they wanted us to get but it mostly consisted of prawn shells and crabs with pretty much no meat. The servers were nice but the fact that the food was cold, not tasting great and took more than an hour to get overshadowed the experience. 

Not worth it

We didn't live in this gesture, we just used bunk beds (or rather, unrealistically comfortable beds). The most comfortable ones on the whole coastline. What was important to us was that they were very well laid out - there was a shade all day long. The kitchen was good - especially the chops.

The best beach beds in Hickaduva

We spent Christmas in this beautiful guest house. Gent tres friendly. Incredible place close to the beach. Excellent food. Surfing courses offered on site. Really a place in the center of everything is not to be missed. If you like surfing, friendly people and having a little beer in the evening you will be in the right place.

It's a great place to see.

We were there for 6 days; the price was agreed orally, but on the day of departure, the bitter end came; no one wanted to know anything more about the price mentioned. We were only told we are not the charities for the german. We were also accused of using the beach beds, using the air conditioning and not eating anything, which is definitely not true. Then we were able to negotiate a small price compromise with the police and the operator, who was very shameless, but had to leave the hotel in the evening.
