This weekend I stayed in this hostel for two nights.This morning before I left I realized that my purse had been stolen from my own room, I was carrying personal items and money.Probably last night when I arrived I would not be there and I didn't realize it until this morning.He called the responsible and of course he didn't give me the feeling that he was concerned about the situation or that he was very interested in solving it, on the contrary, he was more concerned about knowing where he had left the keys to the room... In short, a regrettable situation, this is the first time I have been robbed of the room in an accommodation.This week I filed the corresponding complaint in the police station and if there was anything new, I updated my comment.

Oh, and the LADRONES!!

Arrived at this hotel to be told to collect keys from else where, disappointing after a VERY long journey with two young children. 

We drove around the area to find parking there were groups of men hanging around outside buildings looking very suspicious, streets were CCTV monitored.  On our next lap trying to find parking someone was being arrested right outside the doorway, the men and boys that appeared to be hanging around the door way looked under the influence of something! We did want to risk staying there with two children especially with no reception area and streets surrounding that looked horrible so ended up spending a lot more and booking into TRYP hotel.  

No wonder pictures of the outside are not shown anywhere maybe cause it looks horrible. 

I can not comment on the rooms just the appearance from the outside, if you are travelling with young family I would say this is a no go.

We did not even stay

The rooms were smoky and closed..the location is ideal, the bed is comfortable and there is a very practical bathroom in the room..the bathroom looked very clean and refurbished Recommended for quality/price.

No one can ask for much at that price..acceptable..

We booked at the Hostal Santa Gema to attend an event in Zaragoza.The location of the hostel is very nice, close to everything, with restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and public transport.We parked quite close.The person who attended us was very kind and attentive, plus he behaved greatly.We were a group of 6 people, in 3 rooms that were very clean, the stay was very pleasant and complete.

 Meet the expectations.

Unlike other opinions, the truth is that I found a parking lot quite close by, without any problem. I called the concierge and they opened the door for us. The person who attended us was very kind and friendly, and we knew what we would have, no more or less than a place to sleep with the bathroom outside the room. We were two people and a puppy, we had no problem, the person who attended us recommended us a couple of places to eat and everything was fine. I could put some reason to complain that our room looked like an inner courtyard, and in the morning I was awakened by neighbors talking through the windows of the inner courtyard (radio-patio).

A good economic option.

If you are considering booking this hotel, you are probably doing so because of price. This is why I spent two nights here. I paid 15 euros/ person a night for a triple in June.

Overall my experience was not that bad. The beds were comfortable, and the room was a good size. There was no en suite, but the shower was across the hall, and was quite powerful.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke quite good English. On the day I checked out I had a 5pm train, so wanted to leave my bags at the hotel while I spent the time before in the city. I explained this to the man at reception and said this was not possible as the reception was closed 2-4 (when I would need to pick them up). To solve the problem he let me keep the room till 5pm at no extra cost, and showed me a place where I could leave the keys. He didn’t have to do this and he saved me a lot of hassle.

When we went Zaragossa was hot hot hot and the heat carried on during the evening. We were frustrated to see an aircon unit in the room, but could not find the remote anywhere. Maybe if we had asked at reception they might have given one, but it was closed when we wanted it.

The hostel is a 20/ 25 minute walk to the old town which is where you will likely be going. This may be a good or bad thing depending on your needs. From our point of view it was a good opurtunity to walk off the copious amount of tapas we had eaten.

I came in on train and there is not a bus that goes near the hostel. I’d advise getting a taxi if you come in this way or take a 25 minute walk which is what I did when I left.

Would I stay here again? If I was on a budget yes, unless there was an equivalently priced hostel nearer the old town. I couldn’t find one when I booked though.

Cheap price, no frills, good nights sleep

The hostel is located in a residential building. It's made up of several apartments connected together. There's basically everything to live in. The host really doesn't speak English well. But the common language we found with him is that the rooms are cozy and clean.

It's an unusual hostel.

This hostel is located on the top floor of a residential building. I think the owner combined several apartments. NOTE!!! The owner works alone and has another job, so he doesn't always come to the hostel, so you have to arrange an appointment in advance. Here we are waiting for him for three hours under the door. The rooms are nice, big. Shower shared. From the windows a beautiful view of the city. It is in the city center. It is far from the railway station. So take a taxi.

Hosted in a residential house

But after we paid, the receptionist took us to the room, and without a word she left (almost running), leaving us to discover the little room ourselves, and without telling us where the toilets were. The condition of the room was really desirable: dirty and half-clogged sink, in the toilets the soap door was burned with cigarettes and mold everywhere. For 26 euros a night, we still slept well, even if we asked for a double bed and not two simple beds.

Never again!

My wife and I made a reservation at the Hostel Santa Gema at the end of 2011 to go in June 2012. We went and found the entrance guarded by a doorman who told us that he had been chapurreando English that it had been locked. Then he changed his mind and told us that it was on the seventh floor and we had to go up. My immediate concern was to bring the luggage to the room without being fined for parking incorrectly. My wife went up to find out where to park. The receptionist barely spoke English, shrugged her shoulders and said that there was no order nearby. My wife also saw the dirt that was in the reception. We asked a police officer where we could stay, and she told us that the reception was the only reception of a hotel and that we had to go up. We were happy to find out that the hostel Santa Gesta was in the hotel, so that the hotel was not too close to the hotel, so we were surprised to find any other accommodation in the hotel, as well as the hotel was not available to the public, so we decided to make an announcement
