If we overlook the fact that one of the staff entered the room with the spare keys and as soon as he saw us inside he ran away... the rest of what I can say is that I highly recommend this hostel to real dishes and mushroom lovers.

That sucks.

It's the worst place, it's bad. The room is like a prison-outdoor room, the bedrooms don't close tight, noisy and wildly cold. There's a non-functioning shower cabin and a damaged faucet under the faucet that drips water, it's impossible to sleep. The general toilet and bathroom is terrible. Never and for nothing!!! The only plus is the location, but it doesn't save the situation at all. I don't recommend!!!

Because of a medical emergency we couldn't get to the hotel, we wanted to postpone our reservation for a few days until my wife gets back, but again we refused.

It's a fantastic location in the center of town, very close to the Rambla and a few minutes from Plaça de Catalunya (where the bus stops from the airport). For two nights you'll be content even if the room wasn't very clean and the bathroom in common wasn't even.

Avoid this place like the plague! Ok, it might be very well located, but it is extremely FILTHY (normally, I do choose hostels when I travel, so I don't mind essential/simple accommodation options). The rooms are AWFUL and so dirty, I just had to keep my shoes on at all times because the floor was covered in hair and dirt. Also, the NOISE: I had to buy earplugs because the noise at night was unbearable (never had this problem in my entire life - I'm what you can describe as a heavy sleeper!) as we were made to sleep right behind the reception and there were people coming and going all night! But, worst of all, I got a terrible rash all over my face and neck due to BED BUGS I caught at the place - I could barely open my eyes as my face was so swollen. And this completely ruined my entire stay in BCN. Plus, the staff is very unhelpful and they barely speak English. It's NOT WORTH IT! Steer clear of this place.


FILTHY AND WITH BED BUGS

Let me start with the only good thing about this hostel - location. 1 min walk to the Central Cathedral which is great. 

Now let's move on to the "tea". First off, they didn't respond to our email about early arrival so we had to find a place to stay at 4 am. The receptionist offered us a room for 30 euros which was available (the original room cost 45 euros per night) and it was trash. I couldn't believe people would pay money for it, it was so bad, I wish I took photos. It was a small, dirty, old, smelly box homeless people would live in. 

Of course, we couldn't stay there so we went back to the receptionist, which was kinda hard to talk to because of his English. After a long argument, he offered us a better room than the previous one, but still, it wasn't great, it shouldn't cost the money we paid.

The sheets were not clean, the bad cover was all dotted with weird-looking spots and we didn't even have blankets or towels in our room, we had to ask for them. The only towels we had were on the floor soaking in the water from the rain that got into the room. 

Luckily, we had a shower in our room, because it would've been a nightmare to take a shower in the shared bathroom, it was disgusting. 

The internet is another story - it didn't exist for a few days until our 4th or 5th request to do something with the wifi router. 

Overall, I would not recommend staying at the Rembrandt hostel obviously, it would be better for you to use Airbnb and get a great apartment for a cheaper or the same price.

Not a pleasant experience, whatsoever.

Hotel (so if you consider this a hotel) which I don't recommend. Glacque place. Stairs to get there, not practical at all. Staff is strange but rather kind, the rooms are really to be reworked: tiny, not soundproofed at all, you hear the staff coughing or sneezing at night... unclean rooms, bath towels all small (and only one per person)... but there's a very positive point: it's located right in the middle, in a lively street with restaurants, shops, and perpendicular to the Rambla. So actually for the price and for one or two nights it can do it.

What can I say?

We stayed two nights in this hostel. For the price we paid we did not expect a mattress, but the cleaning is really lacking. One night the common bathroom was dirty and, despite the report of the problem, the next morning it was still dirty.

Shameful bath

Hello travelers. I stayed for 4 nights in this hostel in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, so in the middle of the city, halfway between the Rambla and the Gothic Cathedral. The location is certainly the absolute value of this hostel. As for the room, it did not satisfy us. We were 3 in travel and the space was barely enough for the 3 beds. The bathroom was really small and not too clean. The overall cleanliness could be reviewed. The absence of air conditioning made the nights really tough. We had only one key to the room. The balcony was really small and unusable. So the vote goes as an average between location, room and price.
