The Ellui is a business hotel located in Gangnam (no need to introduce the district). The rooms are comfortable and relatively spacious, although the furnishings are a bit tired. The bathroom is not exactly 4 star standards and could do with some revamping, but is still functional. The Ellui used to be home to one of Seoul major discos (jn the basement), which was closed at the time and does not seem to reopen. There is still a top floor bar and karaoke: be aware that a private karaoke room can be charged 200,000 Won, and fortunately staff will inform you of the charge beforehand. The bar is otherwise ok. The Ellui offers very good value for being in Gangnam, which can be really helpful if you want to stick to approved rates (e.g. for HMRC or company policy compliance) and still enjoy the location: this is what in my view justifies the overall rating. There is no shortage of restaurants in the area: some behind the hotel are rather trendy and pricey, but within a 10 minute walk you can find traditional and much less expensive ones. Good front desk with efficient check-in. Note that there is an Airport Shuttle stop a stone throw from the hotel.

Average but Great Location and Good Value

The location is great. Close to the river, main street, nightclubs, bars & restaurants. The room service was good. I stayed in the 6th floor and had a nice view. It's a pricey hotel to be honest but it was a last minute check-in

in the room, amenities are just ok. They do cleaning everyday, but all things are old-fashion and look old. The location is fine, near bus stop and subway station and surrounded by grocery stores, coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. The views from elevators are great.

My stay was for 4 days.As I I checked in I had to hurry to conference briefing. The Taxi by the concierge was quick and later during my stay had no opportunity to venture to anything else. The turning down of the room as efficient. I did not encounter any staff members on my floor.Every part of it was pristine. With the cold wintery season the lift facing the river and the scenic beauty was awesome. The breakfast at the coffee  shop was okay. Reasonable spread. The front office team were very accomodative . My short quick  City Tour was very nice , while check out I was charged for the paste & tooth brush. Though it was a bit amusing / alarming, yet enjoyed the stay.

Business Hotel Not Pinching your Pocket

For US$130 a night, this hotel was quite a waste of money and is not where I would take a girl to impress them. The room is so old and is in desperate need of renovations. The key is some sort of prehistoric piece of plastic with holes punched in it which I ended up losing it but wasn't charged for it. Also, they only offered one key for my room which was also inconvenient.

What you're paying for is a very nice view, overlooking the Han river as well as its prime location, as it's near some of the best clubs Seoul has to offer. Club Ellui which is at the basement will be blasting music till 6am, while club Answer (150m walk down towards Apgujeong) is also quite the hot spot.

For those who have no business being in a club, this hotel only offers a view and that's only if you're lucky enough to get a room with the view. 

Normally I stay at the Riviera across the road, which goes for around UD$180 a night and the rooms are much nicer there. I think it's worth the extra $50 to stay at the Riviera than Hotel Ellui.

Worse hotel I've been to

The hotel is located in the business district of Seoul, 20 minutes walk from the International Trade Center and the Soech Exhibition Centre. In the morning there is a free bus from the hotel to these centers.

This hotel is very well located in the city center and easily accessible by metro in the neighborhood there are plenty of restaurants the service is impeccable in a nice hall

My expectation of a hotel for which I paid US$150 a night was that it would at least be clean, and my surprise was great when I found a cockroach in the bathroom... Regarding breakfast (included in the fare), it was quite elementary and the staff's service disrespectful to the host, as when 10 minutes were missing from the breakfast time, the staff began cleaning the place, barricading and cleaning tables while several people were still having breakfast.

It's not worth the $150 a night.

The right hotel in relation quality/ price. Near a street with restaurants. Not very central. a 10/15 minute drive to Coex.
