Stay and Home Residence

I am a frequent business traveller to Korea, and this is my favorite hotel. I've been in several hotels, including Suwon Ramada/Ibis/Stay 7, and Dongtan Ramada and Shilla Stay, and Stay & Home is my favorite. I've stayed at Stay & Home several times by myself, and also with my family. In fact, I spent 3 months here in 2015 with my family. Here's why I like Stay & Home the best: - You get a full kitchen, complete with stove, microwave, sink, large refrigerator and freezer, and cookware. Great if you want to cook some meals for yourself. It's generally very hard to even find a hotel in Korea that has microwaves, so this makes Stay & Home unique. - It's in Dongtan, across the street from the Shilla Stay. Very convenient to Samsung Hwaseong, Giheung, and DSR sites. - Good free breakfast selection, including several western dishes. - Convenient to Metapolis Mall and Homeplus (like American Super Wal-Mart), restaurants, stores, taxi stand, bus stops, etc. - Free access to health club 2 blocks away. - Price is great compared to many other hotels. - Great city park in Dongtan that you can walk to without ever crossing a road. - Staff speaks English and is very helpful. My first time using the bus system, they helped me find the bus routes. When I stayed here last summer, they made some phone calls on my request, to find volunteer opportunities for my daughters. When I had an emergency appendicitis, the hotel staff even visited me in the hospital. Every stay they give me a gift when I'm leaving, and they even help me carry my suit cases to the airport shuttle bus stop. - Clothes washer/dryer in every room -- very convenient. They even provide laundry detergent. - The rooms are basically Korean apartments. Much bigger and nicer than typical small hotel rooms. Bright and modern. Lots of cabinet and dresser space. Stay & Home is a little harder to find than some hotels, because the front desk is on the 8th floor. However, they send you a document with your reservation that gives you instructions on how to find it. So be sure to read that document, and after the first day, there won't be any issue. Truly a hidden gem. In short, if you're in the Dongtan area, and you want to cook some of your own food, or have a family with you, or just want to save some money compared to a high-end business hotel, this is the hotel to stay in.
