The place is so beautiful and peaceful,the fisherman's cabin was cosy and had everything we needed.The manager ,owner and staff are so friendly, kind and helpful 🙂 I recommend this place for time out and a relaxing time.

Beautiful and peaceful 

I booked for Dec 2020. I landed a new job (at age 60!) and cannot fulfill my booking. I contacted them last month - a full 4 months in advance and requested my deposit be refunded. They flatly refuse!!!!! They WILL however be able to sell my plot as it is high season but no! I am not even allowed to transfer my booking. Bad bad bad. Will never support them again.

We had a 2 night stay at the Bonnievale CAMP SITE - on the river front camp sites.
The camp site is clean, organised, well-lit and each site has an electrical supply with garden houses and showers around too. The main ablution block has clean, well-serviced showers and loos, with adequate hot water. 
The site over-looking the river is lovely - and the water is such fun with there kayaks and inflatable items we brought along.
A friend who cam along with us and her son booked one of the chalets for the weekend and that was clean, cosy and very charming - quite basic but she didn't;t need anything else.
Overall, it is an excellent spot for camping and we love it there.

Excellent Camping Spot

We had the best camping weekend ever. Loved the electric boxes and wooden decks. Ablutions were very neat and clean. We braaied every evening and swam in a beautiful clean pool at sunset, We look forward to go back there.

Camping delux

I went camping for the Easther Week End.
Tar to the turn off ,and about 100 meter gravel road to the camp .the level  grass layout camping sites on the top of the terrassed has its own wooden deck with a good view on the river and the river camp site where vehicle are not allowed (drop and go)
Ablution blocks good condition and cleaned in the mornings (some of the campers do mesh a lot)The camp staff is very vriendly and the camp is well manage.
I would like to suggest that management build a uni sex shower with toilet and wash basin at the far end of the camping terrain.
There is enough for the children to keep them busy ,swimming ,canoeing and fishing
Same for the parents and also cycling.

Camping with caravan

We were camping in the Western Cape for a month. We started from Bonnievale River Lodge. It was so good that we went back in the middle of the trip and stayed for 4 nights. We could easily have stayed longer and will definitely go back whenever we are in the area. The pitches are mixed, hard standing and grass, riverside and set back. The facilities are very good and the campsite managers obliging and very helpful.

An absolute gem of a campsite

This is God’s country. I’ve been camping in the Western Cape for the last 18 years and nowhere else have I found a place where EVERYTHING is just perfect. There are a few factors at play: Its January and the schools have just opened. We are one of three groups of people that have arrive for the weekend. So... it’s quiet, and that means peace and beauty in every possible conceivable way. Birds are landing in the water by the minute. My neighbors are catching fish by the hour (.. and releasing them). In a few hours time I will be going out with my family on the Breede river with my inflatable battery powered boat. I have not relaxed like this in many many years. I’ve been around the world more than once and have never ever experienced a place like this, anywhere . On top of all this, the owners of the place are very reasonable and manage the place to a level that is truly world class. I’ll be back here at least once a year.

Best camp in many many years 

The arrangements were perfectly made and when we arrived the new management
couple had just taken over . The log cabin was clean and had mostly what was needed. Perfect place to rest as we were the only couple in the camp on one of the days.1km from the town but away in the country.Other accommodations were very smart  and caravan park looks great and well kept. Grounds are raked everyday and really kept clean . You are on the river and go swimming and rowing etc
