BEAUTIFUL VENUE!!!!!

But because of one person it became a nightmare.

My wife and I had our wedding reception there on the 14th March.
We had a meeting with Robin (wedding coordinator) on the 10th March. We ran through the program with her one last time to ensure that everything will go according to plan for our special day. Everything that we discussed she went and do the complete opposite.

When guest entered the reception no wine or juices was on the tables.
She  threw the starters in front  of guest. When the bridesmaids went to talk to her about her professionalism she rolled her eyes and had a I dont care attitude. 

The bar was meant to close at 23.50 (she closed the bar at 23:00)
She switched the lights on at 23.10 and told the DJ to pack up which was supposed to play music till midnight.

The bar ran out of basic alcoholic beverages.

She had no sympathy for our special day and had a extremely rude and shellfish approach with our guest. 

Guest started to feel unwelcome at the end of the evening and started heading home. 

When my wife and I returned to the honeymoon suite at the end of our evening where my wife got dressed for the day they didn't even had the audacity to tidy up our room. 

We have spent so much money on this day and because of one person we have a extremely bitter taste in our mouth afterwards. 

Le bac has the potential to become one of the most spectacular wedding venues in Paarl but i am afraid that because of one person they will lose out on so much potential business. 

I have to compliment Evelyn for her help and she tried her best to make our day special. I would much rather let Le Bac makes her the event coordinator. She knows how to deal with people and to step in and try and safe a disasters wedding.

If you want to plan your special day there think twice as long as Robin is the wedding coordinator because she will disappoint you. Rather run far far away and find another venue.

WELCOME TO HELL

I thought the breakfast on offer was very basic, their was no choice, was there on both Saturday & Sunday morning, and same old same old

Disliked · The electricity kept on tripping in room & and I believe in the other rooms as well. Saturday evening was a nightmare in trying to get some sleep after a long day attending a wedding in the area. We were in Room 3, and the persons in next room, made such a continuous noise. Went outside & asked them to tone it down, quiet for a few minutes, then racket started all over, looked for duty manager's no on board, 072 692 9077, informed by reception on checking out that number, although it went straight to voice mail, no longer in use. Also at about 23h40, three male guests arrived totally intoxicated, took their pillows/bedding & continued drinking/partying in the Gazebo in middle of garden, they were in Rooms 13/14. I eventually went to knock on Room 4's door, everything then quiet for a while, 5/10 minutes later, noise started all over again, water running continiusly, which went on for about 45mins - 1 hour. Room cleaned so so Saturday morning, however two mugs used for coffee the morning, as well as two glasses left as is on serving tray, bathroom towels, also not replaced. As mentioned, bar/restaurant staff very friendly & helpful, was given the Security Manager, Marius' number, but what is he going to achieve? Saw venue a couple of times on DSTV's "Laat Die Potte Prut", however made me wonder why the film crew never stayed here, but at a guest house further down the road. Would think twice about staying there again, should be REFUNDED IN FULL, or maybe invited back at MANAGEMENT'S EXPENSE? Sent through my comments a week ago to the MANAGEMENT, as expected they have yet to respond, which does not surprise me at all

Le Bac did not meet our expectations. Overall, the premises are in need of some maintenance and there is a general lack of care. The current management must seriously improve the quality of the stay in several respects. For example, one ply toilet paper is not acceptable. The rooms are not sound proof and are in dire need of some upgrades (not a single piece of decoration, old carpets and cheap fittings). Other disappointments include seeing a rat run through the bar area after the Friday night buffet, no choice for breakfast (oily Vienna sausages and fried eggs only - no choice of bread), poor tea and coffee station in the room and a dead bird outside our room for the duration of our stay. Management needs to do some careful reflection on their standards if they want this venture to work. 

A disappointing stay

I was very disappointed. We stayed in the executive suit which was very nice and spacious, but the carpet was dirty and there was no soap in the bathroom. I had to ask for soap. The first night we stayed there the wifi was so slow we couldn't use it. The 2nd night  the wifi's speed picked up for some reason. The aircon's remote was flat. Breakfast was included but there was no joghurt, fruit salad, cereals etc that were put out that you could help yourself to.  There was only a hot breakfast  with no explanation as to what you are getting so that you can say what you want. Overall it felt like the place needs a manager to pay attention to the smaller things that are lacking. They  do make very nice pizza which I can recommend. 

Not what I was expecting

Booked a table for four and upon arrival found the lazy staff lounging around the bar area, not at all interested in helping us. Got seated and handed dirty, dog-eared menus. 
There I should already have seen red lights flashing. 
Waited an eternity to order drinks, and eventually my gin and tonic arrived, only to turn out to be gin and KOLA TONIC!!!!
Good grief....
Moved to the bar area to smoke, not a soul in sight to order drinks from....
After two hours of no service we decided to not have dinner there.
I would not recommend Le Bac at all. Please avoid this place. It's a waste of time and money. 

Never again

Booked at the restaurant, Under new mangement from another country. Did not have any vedgies, half of the dishes we ordered from the menu was out of stock, asked for a lemon or lemon juice, then we asked for the choice of sauces ...... mayonaisse ! I really do not want to be a waiter at the bistro. 

La Bac Bistro Pathetic !!!!

Visited recently for a day conference with lunch and dinner included. Conference facilities very average. Lunch was below standard with slow and uncoordinated service. Food was ordered ahead of time but they could still not get it right. Quite a few people were only served after the rest of their people at their tables had finished eating.  

Dinner was a buffet braai. The chicken was under cooked and the food not nearly enough. Salad was finished before everyone had dished up and when we asked for more we got no reaction from management.

Day conference

Poor facility. Rooms are not soundproof. You can hear every word your neigbour is saying. There are no lights on the walkways to the rooms. Pitch dark at night on the way to your room. There was no hot water in the room. The kettle is boiled on the floor as there is no wall plug at a height or placed that a kettle can be boiled on a table. Ths air conditioning remotes were not working, given to us without batteries.Serious attention needed with regards to service. Will not return. Much better facilities available. Rather search for better.

Went to Le Bac for dinner and it was absolutely incredible, there was more than enough to eat from the fresh buffet.
We had a couple of glasses of wine which was great.
The service was way abound standard and I just have to say Thank you for the fantastic experience 
Will definitely be back

Great place

I needed the break away from the city and found pleasure in staying at Le Bac. Excellent service and clean facilities provided a great stay! Had a scrumptious dinner and was hosted by very friendly staff! Well done
