Hi I am so furious I booked at Tariman boutique hotel, and what a mess so disappointed so so appauled by the place we paid R12K + for and the place smelled moulted from the ground floor to the passages and in rooms the internet did not work at all , the curtains was moulded the bedding you can see was not even ironed the rooms smelled stuffy and the sliding doors balconies could not opened then I get told about other guests breaking it what does that for to do with me I paid for the rooms now im restricted but I was charged for the room  I thought I’m getting , there were no bathroom mats we had to stay for one night because we had no where else to go , when we checked out next day this woman that sat at reception  just said there’s no refund , she had no clue why I’m leaving or asked is everything ok , I itches so much I’m not even sure if it was the dust in rooms because the windows alone showed there was no dusting done , I just still itch from the look and the feel of that place

This was not a hotel

We arrived at the guest house during load shedding and there was nobody to let us in whilst we waited on the road for 10-15 minutes.
There was no water when we arrived and no water when we left hence not being able to shower or refresh. Mini bars had no contents and we were not offered a bottle of water or any sort of water to brush teeth in the morning

NO WATER

We had problem of mould in the bathroom which smelled all over the room, the smell caches you before you get in your room. My daughter have sinuses, we had to check out after 1 night. It was also noisy in the corridors at night. Other than that staff was friendly.

Have potential

The staff was welcoming, especially the other guy at the reception by the name of “Willson” if I’m not mistaken. They assisted us with everything we needed. And they were very understanding. The swimming pool was clean, rooms were clean, everything was tops. I definitely book this place again.

I will definitely book a stay once again!

The place is too noisy, bathroom bucket was licking, no mat on showers, thats safety risk. No mat outside shower. No mat on basins or even on toilet seats. Place needs fumigation. Perfect place situation on central place.

Durban Trip

it was horrible,they say its a boutique hotel but its more like a guest house, the lights were tripping every 10 min, all the microwave were not working including the ones in the main kitchen, the toilet paper was those cheap 0ne ply, no hand soap, I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there.

This gorgeous property has Definitely blown me away, friendly staff, rooms are bright and spacious, aircons in every room that actually works, an on-the-property pool (and it's always nice and warm), beautiful views while having your breakfast either on the open deck or inside..... overall Fantastic place for work, solo travelers and even families!!!

This was a terrible experience! Never Never again! 
On my arrival at Tariman’s Boutique hotel around 4pm Sunday 23 October, I was surprised to find 3 or 4 young men (who later proved to be staff) socializing around a parked vehicle in the parking area.
Some comments were made in their native tongue, which I didn’t understand and chose to ignore, although the tone was not reassuring and made me feel somewhat uneasy.
The condition of the property contributed to my feeling of unease – the actual experience differs from photos posted on the website. The area under the wooden stair leading to upstairs rooms is being used for storage (paint tins, tools and more rubbish) which looked unsightly and contributes to a general air of decay. 
The stair itself has a broken tread at the top and is in need of sanding and varnish, since the old coating is peeling.

The room was clean – although in need of paint – all the conveniences worked - however the attention to detail for the nightly rate for this hotel is lacking.
The view of La Lucia from the room’s only window consisted of looking down into the laundry yard with laundry soaking outside in a tub, wash lines and a metal roof littered with rubbish, plus a view of the neighboring property which appears equally rundown. Soap dispensers in the bathroom were empty and remained empty for the duration of my stay (2 nights) out of the 5 that were booked.
Staff are noisy – talking loudly and slamming doors – this is a noisy establishment until very late at night.  
The gentleman manager was pleasant, he eventually found my booking and kindly carried my luggage to my room.
I was promised towels as none were in the room but had to ask again before these were supplied. 
The second gentleman on the staff who eventually produced the towels seemed to have no concept of personal space - thus my feeling of uneasiness increased.
I considered leaving as I felt unsafe, but not only had nowhere to go but was also expecting our own staff to arrive the following day. 
Our secretary contacted Lekkerslaap to note our concerns but arrangements could not be changed at short notice without certain criteria being met and so I was forced to remain.

I would have been better off staying at a varsity hostel during rag week….  Noisy guests playing music in the halls, shouting, slamming doors ALL
NIGHT.  Attempted solution by staff was to move ME. Avoid!

Avoid this place

 Pleasant stay. Quiet and peaceful place. Safe and private. Good service.I would recommend the place to my family and friends because of the reasonable and affordable prices and beautiful surroundings.
