The staff is friendly and smiling. Very rich and varied breakfast. Prices are normal.

I liked the room overlooking the lake and despite the fact that there is a busy road below, the noise due to the good windows is almost inaudible. As a guest i had free parking space that was always available to me (in an otherwise very busy and popular place).
Just cross the street there was a bus station, and station for boats (normal ones and "pletna"). Local store is just around the corner.

The room was without air conditioning, but despite the high temperatures outsides (+30) I did not need it.
Access to the rooms on the upper floors is only possible by stairs (no lift). 
The bathroom could be too small for someone.

Penzion with a great view of the lake Bled

Where staying in Mlino - thought we would try Penzion Mlino - arrived just before 20.00 - they were closing for the night!! - that is one of the things we found in Bled - much quieter than we thought it would be - so many places closed earlyi

This is an attractive-looking older guesthouse on the shore of Lake Bled, immediately opposite the tourist boats for the island. Because of the location coaches stop frequently to disgorge their cargo of tourists. There was an energetic, friendly and helpful young guy looking after the reception desk who was also waiter in the restaurant in the evening. Our room was quite small, the bathroom especially so - but it had a lovely view across the lake and the twin bed was comfortable. To reach the restaurant you have to walk outside across the courtyard. We enjoyed our evening meal there and breakfast (served in the B&B part) the following morning. The décor of the hotel is getting a bit weary and there is a funny smell on the stairs (no lift). We reached the hotel by bus from Lesce Bled railway station; and returned to the station from the bus stop very close to the hotel. We were told the buses run hourly.

Beautiful location

This B&B, though a little dated, made for a comfortable stay in beautiful Lake Bled. It is a very traditional place, which is charming, but would suggest it could maybe do with a bit of a refresh in parts - for example the bathrooms in the rooms. However, what really made this place is it’s gorgeous position right on Lake Bled. A stunning view to wake up to. This means the B&B is not in the town of Bled, but a 15 minute walk away. Though it is a very pleasant walk along the lake to reach town. The beds were comfy and the rooms were equipped with necessities such as a hairdryer. The room was also very spacious. Another thing that could do with improving is the breakfast as we didn’t find this the greatest quality. Saying this, we would stay here again, as the stay was good for the price, comfortable, and the view was amazing. We would recommend to friends. 

Great location on the lake 

Located on the lake shore across the street... strategic location within reach of all very simple but functional rooms... very clean... staff available and courteous... another strength point and free parking since in Bled every block or street is paid.

This place is right on the lake just outside of Bled a great position. It's a little dated with small but cosy rooms and friendly staff. For the price very reasonable with parking onsite and restaurant downstairs

Simple little gem

It's a very convenient and strategic place to spend a few nights at the lake, the very simple room, without any special services. We took advantage of the two glasses of wine on offer and then we had dinner at the restaurant next to the property.

A night at the lake

We came to this guest house having spent two nights at a hotel near Piran. We had paid €20 per night more for our stay in Piran, but Guest House Mlino proved to be the better by far. First impressions were not great, when we had to ring the bell and wait at reception for over 10 minutes to be checked in, but it was all up-hill from there. Our room was spacious, very clean, and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast spread was very good, and the restaurant is also excellent - we ate there one evening. The location is first class - right on the edge of the lake, away from the hustle of Bled, with a bus stop and ‘pletna’ stop on the doorstep. We had a hire car, so having a car park right next to the hotel was great. The staff, with one exception, were warm, and welcoming. The wifi, though not first class, was adequate. 

The more traditional, rather Germanic decor, may not be to everyone’s taste, and does look tired in places. But get beyond this, and you have a real little gem here.

Two tips:
The rooms at the front with a lake view are slightly smaller than those at the back (where we were), but are still of an adequate size.
People with health issues or disabilities, please note that all the rooms are on the first and second floorl, and there is no lift.



A little gem

We booked a week's vacation at Pension Mlino right by Lake Bled. On arrival we were struck by the muffled smell of the aged house. We had booked a fourth room, which was reserved for four adults. One room was small enough that we couldn't put our suitcases anywhere. The beds in it were also only 190 cm long, so unsuitable for large adults. The floors were dirty, had stains and were old. Generally, the whole house is in need of renovation. The bathroom was for four people - a narrow one-lava was enough for four people. We only kept it for one night and then canceled the whole week, which was later also accepted and then we made a recommendation: Under this five-woman recommendation:

Mlino's pension was a clean slate.

Penzion Mlino has a truly excellent location on the shores of Lake Bled. Although it is roughly 2 KM away from the Bled town center, its location is extremely convenient because directly in front of this guest house are the bus stops for the public buses in both directions (i.e. towards Bohinj as well as towards Ljubljana), the bus stop for the summer shuttle buses for visiting key attractions such as the Bled Castle and Vintgar Gorge, the stop for the Bled sight seeing Tourist train (see the bled.si website) as well as a departure point of the Pletna Boats to the Bled Island. The name of the Bus Stops / Tourist train stop is Bled Mlino.

In addition about 50 m to the right of the guesthouse is a Mercator super market which was open until 9 PM daily including on weekends when we visited in July.

Therefore, this is a perfect location in a scenic area away from the busy town and yet with all the necessary amenities available right here.

The rooms in the guest house are quite basic, not too large, and yet are very clean and comfortable and we were also provided with a fan in order to deal with the extreme summer heat in July 2019. The rooms facing Lake Bled have windows with very good views of Lake Bled and the Bled Castle.

The staff speak English and are in general friendly and the restaurant is also quite adequate.

Overall, we were quite satisfied and would go back there again and can recommend this place as a good base for a vacation in the Bled region.
