Dusty area. Lousy and awful place. Geylang, a red code area. Lots of cockroaches and mice! Obviously not a choice to stay. And there’s no 24-hour security, didn’t feel safe. So, please think twice before booking

We stayed at this property at the end of March 2015. All in all, considering the economic level of Singapore, it remains a good alternative to the anonymous hostels of the little India. The rooms are small, with double beds, but with air conditioning and refrigerator. Quiet and quiet, clean. The location is acceptable, staying at an even distance from two metro stations on the way to Changi Airport.

Good value for money.

We stay here for 3weeks, the room was good enough because there is a toilet and refrigerator (dont know if other rooms have refrigerator), cabled tv, washing area for free (wherein you can wash your clothes), they have a microwave and kitchen (you can use in cooking food with complete kitchen tools to save money as well)... Staff is very friendly especially uncle "Michael"... Overall ratings i can give is 96%, its good because the price is cheaper but you can cook and do laundry by your own compare to other hotels you need to pay for laundry. A must visit for the tourist who want to save money.

"Value for money" very convenient ����

We stayed a short time in this hotel in Geylang (three nights) and we were very pleasantly surprised by the room and the staff ready to do anything to satisfy you. Landing around 9 o'clock we asked if it was possible for the staff to be present when we arrived at the hotel because the reception is only open from 11 am to 11 pm. Having confirmed that they will welcome us, on the day J the receptionist was there to open the doors for us. The key to the room was given directly with all the practical advice that was needed (a subway station, access to the kitchen, a map...). During the entire stay the small staff was very friendly and we had no problem, they crossed the street in the very short minutes to the reception area, but we did not have to use the bathroom, but we had to use the hotel room with a very large, very comfortable bathroom, with a very large, very clean water, and a very comfortable bathroom.

Very pleasant short stay

Points of weakness: The room when I arrived was dirty. The bathroom was extremely small. Wi-Fi in one is very good. No. Strengths: Great staff. It's close to the subway and other facilities such as 24-hour markets and restaurants. For those who just go to sleep it's very good, if you want to spend a lot of time in the room, it'll hurt.

Excellent cost benefit compared to other locations.

It's not the best neighborhood, but it's not expensive, the subway's not far away, I just came to sleep, I walked the rest of the time, so it didn't really matter what the room was or the quality of service.

One of the cheapest options.

All we need is air conditioning, WiFi, a separate bathroom. The staff was not welcoming, but the host was very friendly and friendly. They asked us to print the prescription documents, agreed without problems, didn't take the money. The hostel has a free laundry room and also offers free drinking water. From the subway to go 10-15 minutes.

It's for the non-aggressive travelers.

The best thing about JJH boutique apartment in Geylang:
1. Cheap price
2. Private bathroom & toilet
3. Convenient store, restaurants and food stalls everywhere
4. Great staff working there (Michael attended to all our needs during our stay there. A friendly guy)
5. Free Wi-Fi. (not sure how fast it is, only use on mobile but it is good enough for light surfing)

The not so good about JJH boutique apartment in Geylang:
1. Quite a distance away from the nearest MRT station. 10-15 minutes walk to Aljunied station.
2. Cockroaches... you'll see one or two from time to time.
3. TV signal reception is so so.

Overall, it was a pleasant stay at JJH. The room is typically small but equipped with private bath... This place has no elevator... So, if you are not comfortable on walking up and down stairs, be sure to let the staff know that you want a ground floor room.

Budget stay in Singapore

I booked this for a friend who was moving house and didn't want to impose on the family. They stayed for about a week. 

There is no 24 hours reception. It's a seedy location but still okay compared to some other lorong in Geylang. Hmmm... won't say it's very clean.. it's very dingy and super compact. Beds are... plastic thingys they put a cover over. No cleaning service.

Geylang is well known for its red light district. Set aside that reputation, it does have a lot of convenient internet cafes. Try not to go for the blue ones, they're quite expensive. There are a few hidden internet cafes that you can pay $10-15 for 10 hours straight. Geylang has also a huge array of local food to try. And of course that stretch of durian stalls! 

If you're a tourist, I hope you put a little bit more consideration into staying here. It MIGHT give you a bad impression of what Singapore has to offer. Just top up $10-$20 more, you could be staying at hotel nearby. No doubt it's still in the same seedy area. But at the very least, you have a 24 hours reception and cleaning service everyday.

Only if you aren't willing to fork out more

You get what you pay for.. And in Singapore, this is probably the cheapest one you can find wd Cable, Hot water, comfortable bed, nearby access to a variety of food that may suit your palate. But and this I stress carefully, do not expect a five star or even a three star experience. This is just a place you sleep in after a tiring day of going around Singapore. For the price, its worth the negatives.
