Samaan star is kind of furnished apartment. 
It's new with big room.
Staying there will be a fine experience. 
They don't serve food. So you hv to bring your own.
There is one petrol pump, car wash center,  two general store and one small Afghanistan place exist on walking distance. 
One mosque is just at the back of this hotel.
15-20 min walk,  to some good eateries,  
Some Indian restaurant like Bharat Indian kitchen, vitamin juice place, curry and hurry. And some bhukari and Khabar restaurant for Arabic cousine. 
Within 2-2.5 km there is panda hypermarket and extra electronic store is there too.


Furnished apartment

It was good apartment in the middle of the city. The location is perfect, next to king faisal university. All the activities is around 20 km distance. I recommend to stay in it specially for families with 3 to 8 members.

I enjoyed the stay

Hofuf is a confusing warren of one-way streets, construction, winding variously-named streets.  Samaa Star is on a main road, near a major housing-construction area...this place will be booming next year.  Although the management speaks little English, all were pleasant and welcoming.  The hotel is part of the local culture.  Our 2-bedroom apartment was really huge, though sparsely decorated.  All was scrubbed clean.  There is a new Panda hypermarket a kilometer down the road; otherwise there's nothing nothing in the immediate vicinity.   Booked through booking.com; the given phone number was not answered, so were lucky to find the place via our rough google-map search.   In sum:  o.k., but there are better locations.
