Maafushi Island is located 26.65km south of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and the capital Male’ City and can be reached by speedboat in 30 minutes or by regular ferry-dhoni in 1 hour 30 minutes on all weekdays except Friday.

After arrival formalities are completed, the guest can avail the ferry that departs to Male’ every 5 minutes from the airport. The trip to Male‘ takes about 5 minutes. Upon arrival to Male’ the guest can take a taxi to the Villi-Male’ ferry terminal at the south-west harbor. The scheduled Maafushi direct ferry dhoni and speedboat ferry departs right next to the Villi-Male’ ferry terminal. The Male’ / Maafushi ferry is at 03:00 PM while the Maafushi / Male’ ferry is at 07:30 AM. It is advisable to be at the ferry terminal at least an hour before the departure time and buy the tickets available from ferry boat itself. For the trip back to Male’ the tickets may be purchased the previous night form Maafushi.

If specialized transfer is needed direct from the airport, it can be pre-arranged with the hotel and is a more convenient and time-saving mode of transfer to the island of Maafushi. Seating capacity of speedboats can vary between 6 pax to 20 pax depending on the requirement of the incoming group or individual. Private and exclusive speedboat can be pre-arranged for the transfer upon request.
