We stayed as a couple (in our 30’s) for 5 nights as part of a special occasion with older friends and family. The hotel was very beautiful. It was in a beautiful setting, set back on the hills overlooking Silves and it is decorated beautifully. The hosts, Jorge and Manuela welcomed us into their home and went above and beyond what we would have expected. Jorge was keen to offer advice on places to visit and chatting to him about Portugal was very interesting. The rooms were nice and cool, air con at was set at the perfect temperature. They were exceptionally clean, it is clear Manuela works very hard to keep them this way. 

There is a terrace with sun lounges that has the most beautiful view of Silves, which I have included in the photographs. There is no outdoor pool but near this there is an indoor pool, which is the perfect temperature to cool down and relax in as it also has a button to operate bubbles. The port and cake on an evening and champagne with breakfast were lovely touches! 

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Jorge and Manuela and our stay at Casa do Serro made our family’s special occasion an experience to remember. 

Fabulous experience, beautiful guest house

House of Lords with exquisite decoration. Restoration of the spaces with a lot of elegance, with antiques all over the house. Praise the good taste and dedication of the owners (Manuela and Jorge) to make their accommodation a palatial place, including the gardens.

Wonderful and wonderful.

Great hosts with a lovingly decorated house and rooms. The personally prepared breakfast, the evening port, along with a delicious sweetness in the room, add to the feeling of being welcome. Tips for Silves and the environment: oral and informative at all times. We thank Manuela and George for unforgettable days.

An Unusual Experience

We booked two nights in this palatial house on a high ground opposite the town of Silves. indescribable is the welcome of Manuela and Jorge, two retirees who at no time seem to be served by the intense activity they carry out. they make you feel at home from the first moment. you feel like a tenant but like a guest. the house is beautifully restored, the four bedrooms are huge suites, each of the other and with lots of different personal details, vases, ceramics and paintings by Manuel. the bathrooms are also a private house with all kinds of amenities. the house also has a large indoor swimming pool that allows you to use without any problems. the house is a spacious and spacious dining room. the night of the tea and dining room is filled with a variety of dishes.

Like at home or better.

From the moment you arrive you realise this is a special place, hosts Manuela & Jorge make you feel very much at home in their beautiful residence. The rooms are large, comfortable & very well appointed. Nothing is too much trouble, they are happy to recommend restaurants and sights (all where very good), and when you get home after a day of touring there is always a slice of cake and port.  Its impossible not to enjoy your stay here - just brilliant

Beautiful place to stay

The house is full of details with which to enjoy. A beautiful garden. The best thing is that anywhere in the house there is a corner to enjoy. Tras a lovely short and pleasant walk you are already in the village of Silves. The residence is easy to locate, it is a street next to a restaurant opposite the Roman bridge. The views of the village from the house are amazing. The huge, clean, cozy and comfortable room. The bathroom is very spacious. They have an indoor swimming pool that allowed us to spend one night, and they put us in a very romantic space. Every night we were given a delicious post with Portuguese teas. Y los vinos, ricos, caseros, teas and other typical delights of Portugal were always made, and our special accommodation will always be a different one.

It was wonderful, fantastic.

Manuela and Georges, the owners of the Casa do Serro, will make your stay in their huge house of Silves a wonderful experience. Their residence is located opposite the city with a magnificent view of the castle, the cathedral and the village. Baroque and Rococo house where you will feel at home and where everything will be orchestrated so that you will be like branded guests. The rooms are tastefully decorated with beautiful rooms of Antiquities.

A Prince's Greeting

We travel a lot and stay in about 15 good hotels around Europe every year. I always try to find nice hotels with good location and superb service. But I very, very seldom find such a good place to stay as Casa do Serro! The building with its garden is just fantastic. The interior is even more impressing. We had the best room, which do have a big bath with a beautiful chandelier (and one chandelier in the room as well!). But what impressed me even more, was the hosts. Manuela and Jorge are two retired dentists who have opened their home to travellers and who receive their guests as family members. I hope to be able to return to this lovely place.

An unforgettable experience

The Casa do Serro was the most beautiful and exclusive place to stay during our trip through the south of Portugal. We felt like kings in this old but beautifully and lovingly restored city palace, but not only because of the facilities but also because of the excellent hospitality of the hosts. The dessert of finest pastries and port wine that awaited us in the evening was unbeatable. Not to mention the lovingly prepared breakfast. The Casa Manu do Serro is a secret tip - for all those who prefer exclusivity and tranquility, here there are only four rooms. And when you see the famous side of the castelo on the other side of the river, and you see the Casa do Serro in the red, it is a good choice and you know how much to thank and thank you for the choice of the river.

Exclusive and unique

Manuela & Jorge are the most wonderful hosts, we are just back from a family wedding in Silves and stayed with them in their beautiful home. From the time we arrived late from our flight into Faro they opened the gates to the wonderful house and warmth from their hospitality was evident immediately. 
breakfast was amazing and different each morning - they even got up early before the bakery was open to make us a lovely breakfast as our early morning flight on the last day meant we would miss out. 
I enjoyed the chats with Jorge every evening over a bottle of cool beer looking out over Silves. We'll be back
